I stumbled across this and found it very interesting. I did not think this would be the result, but alas the chemicals (phophoric acid) have a negative effect on organic compounds and elements like calcium, which are found in the teeth and bones.

Now this led me to another article that explains what happens within an hour after drinking coke.

•In The First 10 minutes: 10 teaspoons of sugar hit your system. (100% of your recommended daily intake.) You don’t immediately vomit from the overwhelming sweetness because phosphoric acid cuts the flavor allowing you to keep it down.

•20 minutes: Your blood sugar spikes, causing an insulin burst. Your liver responds to this by turning any sugar it can get its hands on into fat. (There’s plenty of that at this particular moment)

•40 minutes: Caffeine absorption is complete. Your pupils dilate, your blood pressure rises, as a response your livers dumps more sugar into your bloodstream. The adenosine receptors in your brain are now blocked preventing drowsiness.

•45 minutes: Your body ups your dopamine production stimulating the pleasure centers of your brain. This is physically the same way heroin works, by the way.

•>60 minutes: The phosphoric acid binds calcium, magnesium and zinc in your lower intestine, providing a further boost in metabolism. This is compounded by high doses of sugar and artificial sweeteners also increasing the urinary excretion of calcium.

•>60 Minutes: The caffeine’s diuretic properties come into play. (It makes you have to pee.) It is now assured that you’ll evacuate the bonded calcium, magnesium and zinc that was headed to your bones as well as sodium, electrolyte and water.

•>60 minutes: As the rave inside of you dies down you’ll start to have a sugar crash. You may become irritable and/or sluggish. You’ve also now, literally, pissed away all the water that was in the Coke. But not before infusing it with valuable nutrients your body could have used for things like even having the ability to hydrate your system or build strong bones and teeth.

Personal opinion here. What causes cancer? Soft drinks.
Think about it, it makes sense.

Well I must say and most realize it, pure water is our best fluid intake and that can be overdone.

The egg is already hard boiled before being put into the Coke (read the text at the beginning). What the Coke did was dissolve the calcium from the shell, just as we did in elementary school science with vinegar.

Yes, and coffee does the same thing, and people drink Gallons of that stuff......Even I just had one...didnt enjoy it tho.
Apparently, you can use coke to de-rust objects....But you can also use Molasses, yes good old natural sugar byproduct, rips rust off probably better than coke.

I bet is you left an egg in good ol' fluorinated/chlorinated/ etc etc tap water for a whole year, you would see some kind of adverse result result.
Put a lump of meat in a glass of water and after a year, I wonder what would be left?

Ok so I know someone that has consumed soft drinks for the better part of her life. She has been sedentary (relatively) for a while. Hasn't worked for over 20 years. She had her hips replaced in her 60's.

I know another person that never consumed soft drinks. He worked outdoors for much of his youth and was a logger until about 50 or so. He was always a very active person and lived to 100. He grew up around farms and similar things. He had his hips replaced when he was in his 50's.

Can someone explain how that happened?

Granted, he was able to keep moving around until his late 90's. (He got a mild form of colon cancer and died from an anemic kind of condition - congestive heart failure was the actual reason, but he had been fainting and having an anemic problem for a while.) In fact, the guy was out cutting down trees and hauling them to his shop when he was in his 80's and did a couple even in his early 90's. She is having a hard time moving around and is just shy of 70. She thinks it's because the hip replacement didn't work out well.

Btw, the guy that lived to 100, he was borderline diabetic at one point in his life and was an alcoholic.

Soaking an egg, hard boiled or not, in vinegar does the same thing.
You end up with a bouncy, rubbery egg.
Also, I don't know if it's still around, but Tang, the instant drink made famous by NASA in the late 60's, was a great product that was able to get rid of calcium deposits and buildup from dish washers and shower stalls.
Wonder what it did to our tummies?

I use coke anytime I've needed to clean the battery cables. It works great.
I had never heard of using molasses, wouldn't that make things really really sticky?
The coke is easy to rinse off. Plus the coke pours faster. Molasses is trying on the patience, waiting for it to pour out of its container.

I heard that the diet coke is good for getting rid of ants nests, but the only time I tried it, the ants just moved over a bit.

Don't drnk soda , get plenty of exercise , maintain a comfortable weight, don'ts smoke , die anyways.
People who tell others do what they believe in what others to reaffirm the idea that they won't die soon. It's all about
humans irrational fear of death.
It doesn't matter how much you try and take care of your body , you're going to die.

That's life ,stop trying to prevent it and deal with it.

Meh, do what you think is best.

Nothing is guaranteed and life is too short to second guess. Be yourself.

Notice between 0:23 that it says that the egg was in there for a whole year. So that must mean that the shell could of been dissolved long before the whole year went by. The question is would a tooth dissolve at the same speed as the egg shell or would it take more/less time?

•In The First 10 minutes: 10 teaspoons of sugar

Only if you buy the retro formulas or non US soda, considering you down the whole drink in the first 10 minutes.
Otherwise it is High Fructose Corn Syrup that is hitting your system, a much much more deadly animal.
As far as the caffeine goes, LOL I intake more caffeine off of coffee in one day than many will all month.
But truly I get the mexican made pepsi or the retro pepsi as they are made with sugar rather than HFCS.
I'm not to worried about my body falling apart when living in Kalifornia statistically I am more likely to die from an IED or sniper fire.
Live abit!
Hope it helps

Good question, I'm guessing it takes less than a year. And I'm not sure about the tooth, but some people drink so much that it's getting hit by a barrage of Phosphoric Acid constantly... so I'm sure that doesn't help.

Not sure if this video is accurate but according to the vid, it seems that if you put a tooth in coke for at least 72 hours the results can be quite disturbing.
