Well you may be in a good position to comment on my overview of the stream system. Obviously i don't have inside information, i've had to glean what i could from anecdotal reports. How accurate was i in my appraisal?

Also, how often were you given the excuse when applying for a job that you were "over qualified?"

I wish there was something i could do to bring the issue's relating to Social security to the public eye and change the public perception of the 'Dole Bludger' or at the very least help them to understand the difference between a bludger and a genuine job-seeker.

Never ever forget Little Johnnies Motto when he led the Liberal Government:

"A fair days pay for a fair weeks work"!

A bloke who preferred to strut the world stage whilst Australians were subjected to his "Work until you drop" with his "Slave-choices" scheme.

whats the problem with getting a driver's license.Frankly, this is sad, whats happening in Australia.Citizens should be given first preference for jobs.atleast in UAE and Qatar this is the law and they are extremely prosperous. even in Russia this is true ,but is not implemented in all companies.

Reading the news I always thought Australia is the land of opportunity, wealth and freedom.Good luck to you and now I think I understand aussies are 'racist' as alleged by indians and the pakis.I have had my nation Serbia overrun by criminal albanian gangsters and NATO the great narcotics dealer( and sex trafficker) and I understand.
You people are protecting employment opportunities and rightfully so.Indians are a bunch of cowardly backstabbers who say something and do something.

edit on 20-10-2011 by USAisdevil because: (no reason given)

Indians and Pakis come from a class system and the ones who come here are of what they deem as the higher class. But they soon find out that the average Aussie has more money than they do and don't have a class system and they have trouble getting over it and demand this and that. The fact is they have a big chip on theirr shoulder.

I believe they (labour) also introduced a maximum age of children when the mothers are required to look for work too, which I heartily agree with. I think it's grade 2 and mum needs to look for work or volunteer min hours per week. Bloody good job that.

-----------

I'm quite frankly sick of Julia bashing by people who wouldn't have the gonads or intelligence to do the job themselves. Who give a rats *** where she's from originally?!? What an ignorant thing to say. On that note the racism is embarrassing.
I was bought up in a Labour hating household, but I like what they've done so far, and with Tony Abbot on the other side I will never vote Liberals. there is something not quite right there.

I had a period of unemployment years ago too and I understand the ops angst and embarrassment with the stigma attached to that, it does suck.
But seriously we have it pretty dam good here, perhaps where the op lives is too crowded for advancement into employment?
How long unemployed is the last level again?
I don't want to be rude but it doesn't sound like the 'situation' where op 'lives' is conducive to bettering his employment chances, perhaps that is the place to start.

If there are a lot of over seas people applying you can bet your bottom dollar the weather from the last 18 months has interrupted a lot of the farm work they usually come here to do. Especially Eastern Coast Australia.

The retired pensioners by the way, are a veritable gold mine of experience and talent which continues, sadly, to go untapped.

There are so many people who abuse the system and will continue to do so, sometimes even, they are the ones who scream the loudest when they have to pay the piper for the handout. You know the drill.

Skiing?!?
Who can afford to go skiing on the dole? wtf?
Maybe you could be an instructor op, there's a job!

That wasn'true then and it's not now. It was a scare tactic from labor. Work choices really just meant that it was easier to sack lazy people.

Child Psychologists would disagree with you there. This is the exact misinformed mentality that she relied on and now she's screwing everyone including you. she's a communist and the fact that any indipendant body that questions her has found itself politically attacked at the tax payers expense shows it. The Commonwealth ombudsman was her last victim and they're supposed to be the ones who keep the party in power in check.

And what else? People are supposed to stop breeding to keep you happy?

And yes I can see that you grew up labor. A party which has always balanced the national budget through cutbacks and gernerally not passing national wealth on to the population through schemes and other forms.

Ok one point at a time.
I was brought up in a liberal hating household and i also don't trust Abbot.

I did live in Darwin for a while, No permanant work and i'm not in my 20's anymore so thats just not secure enough for me to do those less important things in life, like start a family.
After that i lived in Newcastle. No work there either, everyone being layed off left right and centre.
Now i live in Adelaide, only been here about 6 months so i'm not prepared to give up yet.
You expect me to be a Nomad my whole life?

Oh yer! Like his enterprise bargaining agreements - we were given the choice "Sign or else"!
When I retired and went to pick up my 'super' they had it all made out for an "Allocated Pension" saying "Just sign here"! This meant that I got nothing but they would give me a supplement to my pension from the allocated pension which would run out after 16 years. By putting the money into a Term Deposit I get exactly the same money that Little Johny wanted to give me with an Allocated Pension with the exception that in 16 years time that money will still be there for my wife if I cark it. Beware Allocated Pensions and Financial Advisers who get a commission if they talk you into an Allocated Pension. It's YOUR money not theirs. Put it in a Term Deposit and should you die your wife and kids will get it.

Well then you ARE very lucky to have friends like that.
If I have made assumptions on your character based on what you yourself posted then I accept your apology

You didn't answer one of my questions though, how long is the 4th stream, as you put it?

True you did. My bad. but you'll be stung by Gillard you'll see. Oh you mention parliment time. Did you see Gillard and her perty walk out of Q&A because they didn't like the questions they were being asked? You should have it was all over the news. Who walks out of Q&A? A party which believes it's not answerable that who.

Also in regards to brown nosing it's called an alliance which is a good thing to have when you're a 1st world English speaking country surrounded by poor countries who don't like you. Anyone who's served in the defence force can explain that one.

Oh yeah, it's getting late and i'm tired, missed that one. The 'Stream' terminology is centrelinks terminology, not mine. It's a little bit suspect if you ask me. given the structure of the employment network system i don't see why people can't be assessed on a case by case basis.

I don't have direct access to the info on this one but based on what i have been able to work out it seems to be somewhere around the 18 month mark.

And to answer the next obvious question of "What have you been doing for all this time" I have only had part-time/casual or volunteer work for the last 10 years so i have pretty much been on and off of the dole for that whole time.
The big issue, Can't find full time work.
Current issue, Can't find any work.

If the GFC hits Australia as hard as it is the rest of the world then all of these argument points will be moot because everyone will have first hand knowledge of what this is all about.

edit on 20-10-2011 by Raivan31 because: had to add the 'Stream' explanation

Actually no I didn't (I was probably cleaning up after my four children), not that it matters much, most sessions sound the same. Back and forth with school yard taunts, all bluster and no back up.
Did you watch her ON Q&A? She held herself remarkable well in a room full of haters and quite frankly it impressed the pants of me. She has more balls than most.
Alliances wouldn't be necessary if modern man was not so engrossed in taking everything they could lay their hands on at the expense of others, and yes I can see how that kind of thinking would be drilled into you.
Don't turn this into an attack of defense force people it's not necessary.

Very funny. East, St Peters area. gotta be a 'On the Run' franchise of subway though

And i got the 'sorry we don't need you' voucher so technically i'd just be piggybacking off of your purchase.

Very thoughtful of them, wish they'd just taught me how to fish though.

There's nothing wrong with the idea of social security. It's just the way it's implemented here which is awful. Too many long time dole bludgers who have no inclination to work and bogin chicks popping out heaps of kids to live on child support. Social security needs to toughen up with a decent reform.
