First of all I have I have to say that the original story about the Haboob was posted by jssaylor2007
here....www.abovetopsecret.com... and I don't want to steal any thunder from that, because that was the initial thread
dealing with the haboob itself.
What I would like to point out is that there is something flying around right before the storm hits (at about :29 and is visible throughout the video,
ending up on the other side, and appears to go into the storm and then back out at about 1:23. Now when I first saw this, I thought that it was debris
or trash, but after watching it a few times, Im not quite sure what it is. I suppose it could be a bird, but there does not appear to be any other
debris or trash visible flying around in this storm.
Now, I looked up the word haboob ( I had heard it before, but not quite sure what it meant, and it means "strong wind" in Arabic, and of course, they
tend to occur in desert areas. Also, it seems as if there were things flying around in the Phoenix haboob as well. I started thinking about that, and
remember reading about the Phoenix lights, which I am sure most people are familiar with. However, most people are probably not as familiar with the
Lubbock lights, which occured back in 1951, www.ufocasebook.com...
There have been other sightings throughout the past in this area before, so no, Lubbock is apparently no stranger to weird phenomena. So now I leave
it up to ATS to decide what this could be. Thank you, and peace be with you, and very special thanks to jssaylor2007 for initially posting about the
storm.

EDIT NOTE - it looks kind of like a hummingbird hovering around, but I don't know.

Was this video taken from outside, or inside (through a window?) The reason I ask is that I noticed what appears to be stair-like structure which
could be caused by fluorescent lighting reflecting off of the glass. The black object looks like an insect on a window.
Its hard to say what that is, because the camera is being shot through a glass window, you can see the reflection of it throughout the video, probably
just a little dirt LOL im mean a lot of dirt
If it is possible, it is much better to watch in fullscreen, as there is something dark moving around right before the storm hits. Most likely it is
debris, trash, or an insect or bird, but it is an interesting video nonetheless
That was interesting, I had honestly never heard of the Lubbock lights.
Strangely enough though I have seen strange lights on the horizon. These lights have showed up at dusk, usually as a pair. One light seems to have
quick movement while the other is much slower.
What I found odd with these lights is that they are extremely larger than anything else in the sky (except the moon)
and they also seem to know they are being watched.
The whitish object @ 0.56 casts a shadown on the building. Could be a blurry out of focus big bird.
The darker 'objects' as far as i can tell are just dirt particles on the window glass.
OP, could you tell us where this flying object you're referring to is in the video?

Well it is Lubbock after all so I will make an educated guess and say its an airborne STD or a shifting mass of fecal matter carouseling across the
permian skies.
West Texas don't like the weather... give it a minute.

Don't be a moron. It's in a completly different spot at 40 seconds than it is at 29 seconds.
If I chose to be a moron then a moron I shall be
At least I can spell completely correctly
Of course there would be no wind associated with this dust storm that could blow debris on and off a window , given the storm is headed toward the guy
filming .

I don't know, the more I watch it, the more Im reminded of the way a humming flutters around, but I suppose it could be a lot of things. Or dirt on
the window. honestly, though....I have no clue what it is. Its always easy to dismiss something like this, but Im going to look for other videos of
the storm that might have similiar footage.

I watched the video, can't really tell what it is. I live out this way and it was a heck of a duster, fueled by 70 mph winds from the north.
For those who say a bird or a bug, I find that hard to believe. Birds and bugs are smarter than humans when it comes to weather, and I notice that,
right before these types of things, the birds hunker down in trees or bushes, and the bugs disappear before it hits. Bugs are temperature-sensitive
and the temps dropped before the dust. Even my cats all came inside (I have 9 of them) about 20 minutes before the sky went completely
orange-brown.
I have seen some trippy things in the sky out here, so it's anybody's guess as to what that object is. It doesn't appear to be a window
reflection, it does appear to be out in front of the wall of dust. It could be some kind of debris because it was windy as heck before the dust hit.
If it was a UFO, I hope they had their windows closed. Those tiny dust particles get into everything!
I agree with you on the fact about animals being smart enough to get in out of the weather. I just really don't know what it is, but it is an
interesting video nonetheless. At first, I suppose it could be a hummingbird, but I have watched them around my house, and they don't normally fly
around when it is windy.
It is dirt on the window. The camera man changed angles throughout the video.
Look, at 29 seconds its (HERE) at 40 seconds its (HERE)
Even tho the camera changed positions, the window is constant. So when the "dirt" moves, and not the window........ clearly its not dirt on the
window.
