I have not read the whole proposal line for line, but I would suggest that the 15% corporate tax rate probably is being proposed in place of the current system, whereby many corporations use various loopholes in the tax code which were lobbied into existence by them. I would much prefer a 15% tax on ALL corporations WITH NO LOOPHOLES for any. This would eventuate in 15% tax on Corporation XYZ taxable earnings instead of what they paid in 2010, which was $0.00 (as in 0%).

Further, there is no doubt that past corporate taxes have driven many companies off-shore. This would be designed to bring them home. Remember, when one says "corporations" we are not JUST talking about G.E. and Monsanto and Exxon. We are also talking about much smaller entities that used to build and make things here in the U.S.A.

He should call this plan the "Pffft, that's not my problem" plan.

All it does is shift the corruption and greed from the federal level to the state level. Oh, and as an added bonus it removes regulations, making it easier to pollute and steal from the little guy.

You know why there's never been a truly free market system? Humans. Greed and materialism will always keep us from a truly fair system.

It sounds remarkably like he is reverting to a little known document called the Constitution. I would not have believed it possible for anyone including my man Ron Paul to come up with a sound plan with the very realistic potential to turn this thing around.

I have proudly worn his "2008" Presidential bid bumper sticker on my explorer since 2008 and I don't think I will be removing it anytime soon.

In the words of Michelle Obama - Now I am more proud to be an American than I have ever been (paraphrasing)

The time is now, the time is long since been - it time to put Ron Paul into the Presidency of the United States, if not now then when?

For all those people concerned about money going from the middle/lower class to the wealthy, the answer isn't more federal regulations. They cannot just keep layering on regulations on us and force us to buy locally and support small businesses. This is about taking the time to learn about what each of us can do and supporting 'we the people' advocate groups to speak on our behalf.

More government doesn't do anything as the last few decades is full proof.

Even if that were the case, the fact that it would be state level, it would be easier to deal with. What Ron Paul is doing in a way, is breaking apart the monopoly. By doing so, the people will be able to have more say on it on the state level. It will be more controlled.

I like Ron Pauls Ideas.

I'm trying to see your point but his plan does include cutting the payroll tax for American workers as well as cutting the corporate tax to 15%. My boss owns a medium size company and he loves this. 35% prevents him from hiring the qualified staff he would like to have here. Instead, we use temps and most of these people are just looking for a paycheck. I know a lot of people might have the argument that he can still afford it. Well maybe but doesn't it suck when you live the way you worked so hard for and all of a sudden you have to give these things up because the Govt wants to tax you more? If I were in his shoes, I'd probably do the same. And this is a man who was not afraid to pay his people when the economy was good and always reinvests back into the business.
We need to differentiate Wall St and the BIG companies from the ones that are actually the biggest job creators...small businesses. If this plan doesn't help the small businessman, please show me.

I haven't watched, but I just talked to someone about it, and all they got from it was that Ron Paul wants to break up unions.

Where did that come from, and is there anyone who saw the same broadcast?

EDIT: It was on MSNBC.

Here is Ron Paul on unions @ 9:40, he puts it out very simply on his own stance but it didn't really seem like the interviewer was getting his point.

Well, I watched the whole thing, and I see what you mean about the interviewer.

Seems a very cloudy issue at this point. Although I don't like what unions have become, I would hate to see any power shift towards the corporation. (Personally, I think corporations should be done away with, leaving proprietors to take responsibility and credit for their own everything.)

Thank you for your quick response, I hope he can clear this up. This is troubling to say the least.

How is it troubling?

I feel RP put his explanation down simply and honestly but our society has been so conditioned to think that everything has to be complex, and simple answer often isn't enough...but why?

This man promotes everything all of you believe.

Please be brave enough to stand for these ideas. The east coast elitist media has done everything it can to tell us how to think about the very idea of our freedom, we must not allow them to tell us how to think.

"Ron Paul can't win". Why, because someone else told you he can't? Because some talking head said so?

This is where OWS and the Tea Party meet, all any of us really want is freedom and a fair shake. This budget reflects these concepts.

Please, it is not enough to support him on ATS, and vote in online straw polls. You must send this campaign money, brown bag your lunch tommorow, forego the latte, cook at home this Friday night and send this campaign a small donation.

Only by raising money will these ideas be grudgingly acknowledged by the media, and garner the attention and hence legitimacy needed to fulfill this revolution peacefully.

I'm embarrassed to say I almost teetered from Ron Paul to Herman Cain. However, Cain's 999 definitely punishes the folks that earn less. Cain is a respectable fresh man in politics. Yes, Cain has an alluring sense. Just can't go there now. Way too many faux pas lately and idea shifting/waffling. Everyone is echoing the Ron Paul mantra's. I'll stick with the real thing............Ron Paul to the hilt.

Everyone is ripping off Ron Paul's message.

I'm glad you didn't jump on the CainTrain, he is dangerous for America.

I'll be surprised if ANYBODY on ATS that is anti-federal reserve supports PRO-federal reserve/alan greenspan-Herman Cain.

It's troubling because the person I was speaking to was a senior citizen. They vote. They are also very aware of the strides that unions made to better workers' lives.

I think that if he doesn't clear this up for those of us who are "cloudy" thinkers, the fear will set in. There is already fear among that community over Social Security and Medicare. It seems they are finally just getting that issue, and Ron Paul's ideas, clear in their heads. I would hate to think that it would take another four years to eliminate this new issue.

Last election Ron Paul won these same straw polls and he never came close to winning the republican nomination. I see history repeating itself It looks to me like he has to much stacked against him and if history is any lesson he'll fail again.

Well things are definitely muddy, many twisted quotes, and half-truths thanks to the media.

RP has been very clear on everything, its just hard to dig through all of his different interviews to look for his answers.

his stand, platform, government overhaul seem promising...

but if he gets elected in 2012, the man will be 77 years of age.... (Aug 20, 1935)

by the end of his term he will be 81... i don't think it will happen, but perhaps someone else will pick up the Torch

Most of his plan is pretty good from what I see. I don't think you can entirely cut off foreign aid and he doesn't talk much about individuals income taxes and how they would change. Overall it's a great starting point though. Better than any ideas all the other yahoos from both sides have put forth.

It was a near miss for me. Cain really is a thoughtful man. I listened to him for years on radio and was sold on him. Yet, when I put out the comparison chart, RP wins hands down.

Cain lost me on raising his hand to G - Bay and keeping our super world force in effect for all of us Americans to pay for. Cain is a warring supporter. That is where is really lost me. I'm ready for peace.

Thanx for the reply.
