No I'm not. My parents escaped Cuba. A MARXIST country. I know what I need to know. Collectivism doesn't work, and communism's collectivist center has lead to the deaths of millions. I will post what i posted in reply in another thread. Because this seems to describe you perfectly:

This is one of the few societies in the world where ignorant academics can discuss the good virtues of systems that have failed over and over again. They have that luxury here, if they only knew what the reality was they would change their tune, but freedom has an insulating effect on the minds of spoiled children who simply haven't any appreciation for what is around them.

What else can I say? They HAVE THE LUXURY and liberty of discussing how great communism and socialism is without experiencing it for themselves. They are insulated from the realities of their supposed ideals and then look down their noses as those of us who have seen it or experienced it or had family who have.

I will also post my follow up:

They do. And they vehemently defend the system as "never having been truly implemented" when the first communists, the Bolsheviks did. And millions died. Socialist cultures around the EU are failing miserably under the shadow of the mountain of debt they have created as a result, and yet socialism is still a good idea.

I have explained to them that the reason socialism is bad is for the same reason bailing out banksters is bad. They take other people's hard earned money, and fork it over to banks so they can continue to do what they do. And yet socialism is still a good idea. And those that don't agree are just brainwashed.

Corporate bailouts IS socialism. It is the UGLY TRUTH OF IT. Both the left AND the right want to hide this fact from people because calling it what it is would call into question nearly everything that government does with our money. Especially when it comes to entitlements.

You can read the Communist Manifesto and Marx directly states that capitalism will crumble. People have already dubbed communism/socialism as an "atheistic movement," which in my opinion, is highly untrue. All of the greatest philosophers, prophets, etc were advocates of socialism, especially Jesus who states to share the wealth. We all know that capitalism will eventually backfire. We are currently living in the new Imperialist regime in that America is going around calling all of the shots, acting like a police officer to other nations. You are right the founders of America would never want this, especially George Washington who STRICTLY advised America to follow a policy of international neutrality. When you dismiss Marxism saying things like Marxism can kiss my ass, it shows the fear and ignorance at the same time. True political ideologies can never be followed to its fullest capacity simply because there is human greed, however, socialism, in my opinion, definitely does not screw the majority over compared to capitalism. In capitalism, people cannot afford to pay for their drugs or their surgeries, just because they did not work as hard compared to someone else? We all know it is a human crime to pay for your health, especially insurances denying any health liabilities for people who are denying. That to me is a crime my friend. In a socialist nation, I can definitely tell you, at least in the health care center, that individuals are much better cared just because they are human and not for how much goddamn money they make.

Why do you feel you can argue my reality with your BS theory that history has proven wrong time and time again?

You know what, don't answer that. if you want communism so bad MOVE TO CUBA. Don't force those of us who escaped the horror that is communism and socialism to have to relive it because you've never had the misfortune of having the experience to back up your tripe.

They'd love you there.

Just like going against America, one can easily be dubbed a terrorist or insurgent, or going against capitalism one is easily dubbed a Commie or Socialist. When you have 1% controlling the other 99%, we all know that is unfair, and this is at least the capitalism we see in America today. People do not have enough money to afford drugs for their health conditions. I would just like to hear a good reason how a capitalist nation could help solve this problem much better than a socialist nation.

I feel like you are responding much more with emotion, I understand your family left Cuba, but remember, many people REMAINED in Cuba, and definitely far outweighs the number of people who actually left. I would love to visit Cuba, its one of the only nations that doesn't take crap from anyone else. The media portrays them as a # place to live, whereas if it was REALLY so bad over there, the entire country would have left. That is the point. You see, just because I am taking a stance on Communism, I am not implying it is a perfect ideology, nothing is perfect, like I said before, once you bring human greed into it, it messes everything up. But for sure, I can tell you that Socialism is not as greedy as Capitalism.

My family didn't LEAVE Cuba, they ESCAPED Cuba. Big difference.

Secondly socialist systems are more greedy than that of capitalism.

You get to KEEP what you earn in capitalism.

In socialism what you earn is taken from you and either the state gets it, or someone who doesn't earn a damned thing does.

What's more greedy than sitting on your ass expecting others to work and then pony up for your comfort?

The "Occupy the World" video was done to Charlie Chaplin's speech in "The Great Dictator" in case any of you didn't recognize it.

That was well over 50 years ago.

Step back a minute, and realize how long we have been trying to resolve these problems. It might seem that we are getting no closer to resolving them, but we are.

What most of us wish for is some kind of workable freedom. A freedom in which we do not have to submit to humiliation or worse just to stay alive. A freedom in which we won't get slapped down every time we have a new idea, or laugh at an old one. A freedom in which we won't feel so trapped.

What if what traps us is, essentially, an idea? What would that idea be? I suggest it might go something like this: I need my body to feel alive.

Do you see the problem with that idea? If you don't take care of your body just so - feed it, cloth it, bath it, keep it healthy - it will make you feel absolutely terrible. It will feel like a horrific trap. Yet, we live with the idea that we need the body to feel alive.

What if that idea were, somehow, false? This is the realization that we must come to terms with. Sure, having a body can be fun; when it's young and healthy. But it also functions as a huge social control tool. That's why we need the idea of human rights. If we had all our human rights, then life in a body could be livable, even fun, even a great adventure. But without those rights, life in a body can be torture, literally.

Unless (or until) we come to appreciate the paradox of expecting to be "free" in a body, we will be unable to appreciate the basic reasons why it has been so hard to resolve these issues. Until we are certain that we do NOT need bodies to feel alive, we will not be able to conceive of a game that is sustainable. It is not that we need to abandon the body, it's just that we need to find a way to elevate ourselves above being manipulated through it.

Earth's most depraved criminals are the best illustration of where the lie of "I need a body to feel alive" leads us. They count on us never being able to figure out a way around that lie. It is one of the most convincing lies we have ever believed. And it is one of the most basic.

Read Havana Real...Look it up. They are living in misery. Visit the blog Genration Y and you can read what it is like to live in Cuba right now.

This just from 15 Oct 2011:

The tires squeal, the car doors fly open, three men pour out, all produced by the same mold: strong, military haircuts, cell phones clipped to their belts. There is no possible escape. No neighbor will provide refuge, the curious move away, frightened, and potential witnesses won’t want to talk. They force you into the car without showing you an arrest warrant, nor even an ID showing they belong to the police. The license place is private so as not to leave any institutional trace. Nor are the blows accompanied by any stamp or signature, not so much as an acronym. You have just fallen into the hands of the Cuban “paramilitaries,” those political police who never wear a uniform, who have the power to break all the laws, to lock you up in the absence of any crime, and to take you for a “walk” while shouting their threats and sinking their knees into your abdomen. More and more often the methods of the mafia are found in the ranks of State Security. Their impunity even upsets the regular police, who watch as these guys with aliases fill the cells with detainees never entered into the station’s incident book. The practice of fishing on the margins of the law has become routine for the restless boys of Section 21, who feel themselves to be members of a select body who can block anyone from any place, or forcibly detain them, even inside their own homes. They are trained not to listen so it’s not worth the trouble to fill their ears with phrases such as, “I am a citizen, I have rights,” or “I want to see a lawyer…” or “What crime am I accused of?” For them, their victims are not individuals protected by a system of laws, but merely “worms,” simply “vermin”… those whom a despot like Gaddafi, in his time, called “rats.” And there you are, inside that car that is a black hole swallowing the Constitution which should save you, encircled by the muscular arm of someone who calls himself Agent Camilo or Lieutenant Moses. For now, they are only going to frighten you, but in the future — when you are more daring — they will be tempted to scratch you with their fingernails, push your head into a bucket of water, play games with electric current and your testicles. Because when the government creates structures that are not accountable to any law, there is no possible defense for those who oppose it. These paramilitaries of today are the thugs of tomorrow. These elite forces, who project themselves as defenders of a dying system, may find their hands don’t hesitate to kill. They have already proved their frenzy by stopping abruptly in the street and forcing you into a car. The next thing they want to see running is your blood.

That's cute.

You should read the Constitution.

You would be surprised what you do and DON'T have a right to.

Secondly I'm am completely against democracy.

Democracy means that 51% of the vote can extinguish my rights.
No thanks.

What total nonsense. Democracy is about how a country is governed. Rights do not change.

That's a neat trick when a capitalist country fails pretend its really a socialist one and then say its socialism that has failed! Honestly so shallow. Countries are failing because capitalism is untenable. It will struggle on for a few years maybe, hopefully not. Ironically enough the countries in europe that are doing quite well.......look carefully (northward).......are the most socialist of all.

Trying to merge some socialist principles within a capitalist run economy does not work very well and simply delays the inevitable failure of capitalism.

Imagine 10 people and 100 pounds in an economy:

Communism : Everybody gets 10 pounds.

Socialism : The lowest paid gets less than 10, around 5 the highest paid gets around 15. All essential services are freely and evenly distributed.

Capitalism : The top 1 gets as much as he can 91pounds and tells everyone else they are lazy
and if they worked as hard as him they too could earn 91 pounds (oops failure). You pay for everything and tough if you can't you lazy good for nothing.

Dictatorship (left or right) : Same as capitalism but if you complain you are shot.

Problems:

Communism : does not reward effort.
Socialism : does not account for greed.
Capitalism : Assumes unlimited resources and forgets somebody has to clean the toilets!
Dictatorship : Assumes bullets maintain fear forgets that when people have nothing to lose the bullet is nothing.

So which is best? Answers on a postcard, but we already know don't we

Some people aren't as capable as others and this is the fault of my success how?

Marxists are full of envy.

Not envy. Pity. You see, many people don't regard it as "success" to exploit and pay slave wages to the 99% so that you - the 1% - can live in obscene luxury. People want a fairer kind of society. So they don't envy your greed and selfishness. Instead, they pity you for admiring those traits.
