Here is what I think... I don't care that he bowed down out of respect to Japanese officials. It is not different than shaking hands with some one. it
is respectful. So get over that.
Do I care if he apologizes for the US nuking and killing people? No not really....
I really don't care. So what if he does? If you are concerned that people will think he is weak for apologizing for the killing of innocent people, I
suggest you are wrong. People just might view it as compassionate.
That said, I personally would not apologize. Yes, it killed a lot of people. But in the long run, it helped bring a much quicker end to the war and
also saved a lot of lives in the long run.
I would not apologize, but quite frankly, I don't care if he does or not.
Here is the deal. Ultimately, this is a political NON ISSUE!
I don't much like the guys politics either, but it is just funny that no one ever really goes after his politics. They just attack his character.
and if you find it bad that he showed respect to Japanese officials, in the traditional way of the Japanese, or you find it wrong that he feels bad
and may want to apologize for a bombing that killed how many innocent civilians. well, then I suggest maybe you are the bad person here.
Yep, it was a different time in warfare and innocent people got killed in greater numbers than they do today but hey, so what? If he wants to
apologize, it shows character. It shows that he has a heart and that he finds it sad that it had to come to such an awful, horrific bombing.
Find a real issue to complain about.
