Face facts, there was evidence that the prosecution said was inadmissable that conveniently would have placed Knox where she said she wasn't - a retired FBI person writing their opinion means nothing to me that counts for anything other than another opinion. There are only two people who know if they were held wrongly (they weren't convicted were they? That means being found guilty) and I'm not sure either of them will be telling the truth until maybe they receive their last rights - but hey, when it comes out, buy her autobigraphy, go and see the film I'm sure she will receive a profit from.

This is why our species create conspiracy theories. They are deeply afraid of the real world (terrorism, dictators, murderers) and rather live in a fantasy land of paranoia where the government is after them. Doesn't make much sense, but yet again, a majority of theories on here don't either.

There were two victims. Meredith Kercher and Amanda Knox. One was brutally murdered, the other was vilified and held against their will with very little evidence supporting their role in any murder.

lol the EU is a loose collection of countries, the US is a single country. In fact, the eruozone (countries that share the currently failing euro) have a smaller combined GDP than the US.

It is the US who is the breadbasket of the world, not the declining EU.

to be honest, you have lost me...

Are you implying that I hate all Americans? I hope not, coz actually, as far as I am aware, I hate not one American, North, South or Central.

I currently live in Italy, but have recently visited many countries, from Central/South America to Vietnam along with more than 30 countries in-between, so - perhaps mistakenly - considered myself in a position to relay the general feeling I get from non-US Americans regarding US foreign policy.

I also lived with a great New Yorker for several years and love him as a brother, even though he is Jewish (joking!).

Personally, I simply do not believe that people are disgusting animals.

The vast majority of those I know, have 'issues' but are essentially decent folk. I am a firm believer that all Humans are born innately GOOD. Just corrupted after birth by their corrupt family, school, church and environments.
Every country, every creed has it's heroes and absolute morons. yet because of it's dominant desires, it is up to the US to show it's mettle and convince the world that it is not in fact full of morons.

No one here has a stake in the outcome of Amanda Knox. Apparently the Italian justice system saw fit to charge her with the crime. I don't see any controversy in this, and frankly it is none of my concern.

I'm tired of seeing this in the news every few months.

The last country in the world that needs to be ridiculing other nations on justice and matters of the court, is America. It has no business at all. America is the most hypocritically corrupt justice system in the world. Bar none. There are so many people in jail in America that it makes hell look like a playground, and the rest of the world a pleasant resort.

The media has seen to it that Amanda Knox should be a reoccurring 'story', to keep the ignoramuses frothing about justice. I am so tired. I am tired of hearing about people talking about 'justice' for things they know nothing about, all because the media told them so. "Amanda Knox is not guilty and Italy is just jealous of America", blah blah.

Not too long ago, the hit story was Casey Anthony being acquitted, and the crack US justice system in tandem with the honorable US media, made every single ignoramus in America cheer for the woman to be murdered. Because "they knew she was guilty, they just knew it". Someone should "murder her" on the street.

So tired. When is it going to stop. When are you people going to #ing learn.

The court released her as innocent even though many think that decision was tainted and if you can't discuss that on a conspiracy site I'm not sure where else you can. Glad to see that you are saying the official story is correct though.

The actual OP is stating that Knox was in some way held to account for her country of origin rather than her guilt or lack of - isn't that the only thing to discuss in this thread?

My opinion is that is would be smart at this point in time to buy American only products for the next four to five years. We need to rebuild our economy and keep our net worth. NAFTA needs to be ended. Jobs should be kept in America not given away to others. Americans buy American and vacation in America! In some of the European countries it is pay more get less, so stay in America and get quality products.

There are alot of sacred places, beautiful National Parks, and vibrant cities filled with restraunts, shopping, and museums to visit without the hassel of overseas flights and custom checks. Then next time someone pokes us in the eye maybe war is not the answer. Economic boycots are a great way to vote with our wallet.

The problem with that option is that it works both ways - rest of world stops buying US goods. I admit my ignorance here but does America export many products the world wants? If not then US gets completely isolated, if so then there is major potential for conflict. I don't believe either of these options are desirable

As to the Italian way of thinking, yes, they like to blame. They are prosecuting some geologists, for failing to predict an earthquake, with manslaughter charges.

Between Knox and the geologists I think it points to an overall external locus of control.

In other words they like to blame others for their problems.


I can't wait to see who they blame for their financial problems, because their mess is much larger than Greece and they've taken almost no steps to cut spending.

I don't know if this has been said but it needs to be. In the 1920's America (my home country) executed two Italian citizens under the charge of treason. We thought they were spies, that was never proven but they were executed. Perhaps Italy always was mad about the execution of Vanco and Vanzetti, you may be outraged over the Amanda Knox scandal. However we as Americans can not throw stones at Italy when we did the same to them.
