Genesis 1:6 and God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were above the fimament: and said it was so.
A lot of people on Twitter were asking about the brown-green arc above the Earth. That’s an aerosol haze, a glow caused by particles suspended high above the planet’s surface. It’s an extremely thin layer, so it’s best seen edge-on, for the same reason some very thin shells in space are bright only around the edges.

You're grasping at straws. There is no water separation. You're calling space, water...which it is not. If you want to use bible passages so loosely to prove there is a God, you could create anything out of any piece is scripture to fit your need to prove God exists. Unfortunately, this is not it.
Sorry.

in the great biblical flood the firmament was opened and the flood waters deluged the entire world.
i believe none of that though...
so the pic in the Op while cool is not the firmamentedit on 9-10-2011 by CaDreamer because: (no reason given)

So explain to me the difference between "space" and water
Weightlessness, humans can not breathe, floating around........ whats the difference
Water is a chemical substance with the chemical formula H2O. Its molecule contains one oxygen and two hydrogen atoms connected by covalent bonds. Water is a liquid at ambient conditions, but it often co-exists on Earth with its solid state, ice, and gaseous state (water vapor or steam). Water also exists in a liquid crystal state near hydrophilic surfaces.[1][2] Under nomenclature used to name chemical compounds, Dihydrogen monoxide is the scientific name for water, though it is almost never used.[3]
Outer space is the void that exists beyond any celestial body, including the Earth.[1] It is not completely empty, but consists of a hard vacuum containing a low density of particles: predominantly a plasma of hydrogen and helium, as well as electromagnetic radiation, magnetic fields, and neutrinos. Theoretically, it also contains dark matter and dark energy.

I've always thought the firmament was dry land...
Doesn't dry land divide the waters from the waters?
