God prepared the Lake of Fire for Satan and his Demons. Only given the previous acceptance of a burning Hell does anyone equate the LOF with "Hell." I still await a complete, theologically sound exposition of an ever-burning Hell. I note that Jesus said the fire was everlasting, but most Christians tack onto it the idea that the lost would suffers in that fire everlastingly. Not necessarily. I do not pick and choose. My views on this begin in Genesis, and end in the Revelation. How in "Hell" do you judge me on this, and say my "...understanding of the Bible is minimal at best."?

The ever-burning Hell that you seemingly wish to avoid comes from the Greek word Gehenna. It's also synonymous with Hades, the temporary resting place of the damned before they are cast into.... *drum roll*... the Lake of Fire; i.e. Gehenna.

The KJV is the only modern Bible that translates all forms of the underworld, used loosely, to mean Hell. Only the NIV, NLT, NAST, and others only translate Gehenna as Hell.

I'll even go as far as list all the verses that use the word Gehenna:

Matt.5:22 whoever calls someone "you fool" will be liable to Gehenna.
Matt.5:29 better to lose one of your members than that your whole body go into Gehenna.
Matt.5:30 better to lose one of your members than that your whole body go into Gehenna.
Matt.10:28 rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
Matt.18:9 better to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into Gehenna.
Matt.23:15 Pharisees make a convert twice as much a child of Gehenna as themselves.
Matt.23:33 to Pharisees: you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to Gehenna?
Mark 9:43 better to enter life with one hand than with two hands to go to Gehenna.
Mark 9:45 better to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into Gehenna.
Mark 9:47 better to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into Gehenna
Luke 12:5 Fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into Gehenna
James 3:6 the tongue is set on fire by Gehenna.

If that's not acceptable to you then nothing will convince you that a literal Hell is apart of the Christian faith. Why do Atheists have to teach Christians their own religion?

Good argument...and I agree with supporting their free speech....though I feel no shame in calling them hateful bigots.....that is just me exercising my own free speech!

Organized religion as an institution should be outlawed. Period. There has been more killing in the name of "GODS" than anything else in history.

AMEN.

What makes you think you have taught me anything? I reject your argument. However, I will check it in my Strong's Corcordance when I get home.

well one would assume that by telling people facts they would learn, but not all people obviously
so you reject the word of your god?

Religion started it of course... i mean, hate was here before religion was. The issue is the person a lot of these religions worship taught the complete opposite.

Meaning most of these religions, don't even understand their own book.

Yes...that is sad, but its also a fact

I myself hate that which God hates.

That would be most of everything you described.

Does that justify rejoicing at a homosexual funeral? I would say no.

God does not wish for any one that is not one to die with out salvation and eternity with him.

But if one never chooses to be with him then that would be a sad event.

Not at all! What I reject are Bible quotes which may or may not be misquotes or quoted out of context. There is a lot of trickery afoot, and some of it is on this very thread. What is all this to you? For I have had a glimpse of your theology, and I will stay upwind of it...

The Bible states the case better than I can.

“The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goes therein shall not know peace” (Isa. 59:8)

“And the way of peace have they not known” (Rom. 3:17)

War is a symptom and not a cause. War is a symptom of the hearts of men only. In the end, the culmination of God's work in man will result in the following:

Isaiah 9

2 The people walking in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness
a light has dawned.
3 You have enlarged the nation
and increased their joy;
they rejoice before you
as people rejoice at the harvest,
as warriors rejoice
when dividing the plunder.
4 For as in the day of Midian’s defeat,
you have shattered
the yoke that burdens them,
the bar across their shoulders,
the rod of their oppressor.
5 Every warrior’s boot used in battle
and every garment rolled in blood
will be destined for burning,
will be fuel for the fire.
6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty
will accomplish this.

I'm an agnostic and I hate WB due to their lack of compassion and humanity. One can only HOPE there is a Hell. That's where these tools belong. Unfortunately I know there isn't. Damn, can't win them all.

Hate solves nothing my friend...

Let them have their religion... If you see their flaws, understand them... correct them if you feel the need, but don't let hatred for them cloud your eyes.

They are lost, as many are... but that does not mean some of them won't see the light one day.

Be love

It's hard not to hate them my friend. When you see them inflicting suffering on those that are already suffering it's just too much.

Wouldn't that also apply to how some/many Christians treat gays?

I don't want to turn this into a gay discussion - - but I see it as the same thing.

Yet those Christians think they are in their right.

Those Christians blast the Westboro church as not being true Christians - - - yet they are just as guilty of inflicting suffering on those that are already suffering - - it's just too much.

I realize this, but what will be... will be.

Remember... Hate hurts no one but yourself. You can hate whatever you like, but again internally you are just affecting yourself. And if you spread that hate that has built up within, you start to hurt others as well.

Love thy neighbour, love thy enemy... that is the path

Of couse my sister... you are correct

But again, they are blind... they use the bible as a weapon to judge others, not a tool to attain inner peace

When the blind lead the blind, they both fall into the ditch...

On what basis do you reject my argument? I gave you the Greek word which is what the NT is written in. Hell is also NT theology.

It's hard to converse with Christians when they plug their ears and go la-la-la-la.

Not going to happen and I sleep well. I don't ascribe to any tenet but my own conscience. And it is fine.
