What do you think the Occupy Wallstreet movement should be asking for?

Term limits for all politicians.

Removal of all career politicians from D.C. for starters....

Leadership! Because they should have thought about that before 3 weeks into it and having the media ask many of them to a deer in the headlights look.

Good question

Investigations (Whatever investigation method not sure but it would have to be open to the public and monitored) into the top 5 banks that are more than likely the biggest part of this crap. Also hold politicians accountable for their actions in this as well. Right now nothing is being investigated both politicians and banks.

Of course all the above includes the federal reserve as well. We just need to put these peoples feet to the fire and teach them a little lesson for once. ACCOUNTABILITY That would be a good start.

3 demands:

1.An amnesty for all student loans.

2.A 1% sales tax on Wall Street.

more tax for more money... tax the upper class as much as they should be taxed, there should be no discriminitory standards on anyone, everyone should pay the same tax gradient. ...make a 300 dollar check you take home usually what, 260 270, if you make 300,000 a year you should only take home 260,000 a year, or even more for you haha

Abolish the Federal Reserve. If the FED is abolished then a
good portion of our other problems will be vanquished along
with it.

EDUCATE THE PEOPLE ABOUT THE FED and they will
come to their own conclusions. But the FED should be
top priority.

Some suggestions:

Eliminate all money from politics, make it an act of treason to lobby or attempt to control politicians through donations/bribes.

End the Federal Reserve

An immediate end to the wars that have bankrupted this country

Abolishing the current tax system, and creating a simpler and fairer system, making it so that both business and citizens can function.

End the free trade agreements that have taken jobs from this country immediately.

Audit the Fed.

Audit the Gold in Fort Knox.

Treason as capital offense for any politician convicted of taking a bribe and any lobbyist, company, etc convicted of bribing them.

Give the states back their rights as they are defined in the Constitution.

Demand a balanced budget amendment.

Demand a 5 year ban on printing more money.

Demand tax reform that includes an equal percent of taxation on everyone, so as too eliminate class warfare. Then when tax rates rise, they rise on eveyone equally.

I would say a straight up ban on lobbyists in any form, should be put in place too. Using bribes that they label as campaign contributions in order to get the politicians to do what they want....

Lobbyists have to go. They are aiding these corporations in controlling Washington and that must be stopped. These guys working for big companies going to Washington and offering campaign contributions if only said politician votes in a way that benefits the company that the lobbyist represents.

"Hey, I am prepared to give you a generous campaign contribution, if you just... vote this way in order to help Such and such company out."

That has to go. Because it has played a part in the country going from being by the people for the people, to being by the lobbyists for the fortune 500 companies.

That, on top of term limits for all politicians ( From city council all the President). That would make a hell of a difference.

Yeah I agree with that. All these are great demands and they are all demands that have to be made, NOW! One reason I am encouraged by this movement is the education potential for what people need to know and understand at this time.

To give you a completely honest answer that I would consider to be realistic as well as meaningful? I would say a clear demand for a citizen based, 100% public and sincere 'Truth and Reconciliation' style committee/board or however you would want to put it.

The purpose is to start with the past lies and begin working forward. They'd need the full legal power of a Special Prosecutor's office and the membership to include some of the quiet and loud out of the opposition as well as others. NO career politicians though.

We really can't hope to touch the lies and high criminal activity happening today until we have some idea of context and what had led to it. It's also a demand that sounds benign enough to some politicians but I've no doubt it would gain a momentum all it's own.

Basically, we need the Church/Pike Committees, going MUCH farther and without all the politicians to screw things up....and it doesn't end until we've gone through 2001 and right into the present day.

How else can a CLEAN future really start for this nation?

This is the time to educate and share ideas. As long as everyone who truly wants change can agree on a core list of demands or principles things can go from there. But people need to educate themselves badly. If you mention Glass-Steagall most people would not have a clue about it.

The Democratic and Republican parties should be abolished.

There needs to be a way to eliminate all donations, bribes, lobbying, everything. I don't know how at the moment, but a total overhaul of the political process is needed.
