Last I checked Martin Luther King also protested and wasn't the one to offer the fix (legislation)

Were not talking MLK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He had a solution,to his protesting!!!!!

EXACTLY as I thought.

You offer NO solution's,right?

This is the whole problem with "your" movement.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough:

It's a FACT that they just moved $75 trillion in risky debt so that regular folks' deposits act as a guarantee WHEN THEY FAIL. Here's the information.

So if they fail, I, you, everyone holding an account with Bank of America will lose their money even if they never invested into their investment subsidiary in the first place!!!

Do you now understand why the OWS protestors are angry??? Why they disagree with the $3.5 trillion in bailouts we paid so far, with the $1 trillion that adds to it EVERY SINGLE YEAR now??

Those figures aren't fairy tales, they are REALITY.

I have never stepped into a Bank of America.

I'm with M & T Bank and Scottrade.

The barbarians will truly be at the gates of the White House and the Federal Reserve if
they even float the idea of writing a check for $75 trillion.

It's an air ball.

The way I see the actual problem is this, while I am against most of the things you want, I full well respect your right to want them and to achieve them in a way that doesn't step on the rights of others.

Most socialists do not respect the rights of others but would FORCE their ideology on the masses....

I will always be opposed anyone trying to trample my rights or the rights of those unable (note I did not say UNWILLING) to stand up for what is right according to INDIVIDUAL liberty AND personal responsibility.

I have no issue with groups setting up private oasis's of socialism and to live peacefully amongst the rest. I support your right to do so, but I will always stand between people of this mind set and the line they often hope to cross that IMPOSES their way of life on others that want no part of it.

They offer solutions, you're just not listening:

Introducing laws that prohibit companies from abusing politicians as sock puppets is a solution. Do you expect the protestors sleeping on concrete to write the laws for you? Seriously? Get a grip!

I refuse to use ANY bank...period. Credit Unions are my answer to protesting the banks. I admit it isn't a complete solution, but it IS a start

What I gather from reading the posts are folks of that mindset DO have a solution. Their solution is to impose their Atheistic anti Capitalism view on the masses.

So much for fairness eh?

What does atheism have to do with any of this? This isn't about religion for crying out loud, it's about WS paying off politicians to get massive welfare checks

It's about the reality that anti capitalism, socialism and atheism going hand in hand.

The Constitution is about the freedom OF religion rather than a freedom FROM religion. It is about IMPOSING an ideology on the whole of the people based on a narrow view of what is correct, AND feeling qualified to do so. No God, No competition, no individuality and no right to live according to ones own values so long as they don't infringe on others doing the same...

It is about the trampling of the rights of individuals to pursue freedom in any manner that does not trample on the rights of others....

It is about equal opportunity versus equal outcome....

Equality of course being based SOLELY on the values of a select few

"Socialism" in the past has tried to eradicate anything but logic. It's often been a bloody affair. The leaders tell the people "This is what you want, so we will enforce it". It's not what the people want, it's what the leaders want. People in control have loved the opportunity to be the example of perfection the peasants should strive for while throwing death squads at the opposition. This is the failed course of socialism haters love to bring up. The people ask for Socialism, and the leaders give something else and call it Socialism. It's a bait and switch.

Personally, I promote actual socialism as I believe it's the only way to equality, comfort, and leisure for the masses. I also promote logic, as it's efficient. Religion/emotion is a nice diversion. However, to make spirituality real, is to over estimate your abilities. To make an afterlife real, is to trivialize life.

I respect and appreciate your beliefs, I also have a hard time with those who would disrespect the beliefs of others. The only problem I have with your *logic* is that NO ONE knows the truth of what if anythings comes after this life. All have an OPINION and opinion is not necessarily a fact.

The fact is, each will have to wait until they die.....to know, or NOT...

FOR SURE

So, for any one group of peoples to suppress the believed truths of others is rather pointless, and in my opinion... evil

Until all beliefs come to a place of living their dreams WITHIN the knowledge they have no right to disrespect the individual rights of others doing no harm....the current cycle of divide and conquer will prevail.... The Conquerors are not necessarily *right* as history has proven century after century....millennium in, millennium out

Even if it's not obvious that it's wishful thinking, not knowing means it's a moot point. I'm not here to force anything on anyone. Well, I would force someone to stop hurting someone else, but that's different. Even if I thought I could bring about my dream world by force, I wouldn't, as that's not part of my dream world. I think we should persuade through reason and example, but I wouldn't force that on anyone either.

I tend to agree..... I think far too many people put too much emphasis to what was *before* this life, and what happens *after* this life....rather than focus on having the best life possible and being the best human being one can be

to start my argument i'll first post a picture.

ok first things first. apparently you have had a good life. apparently you and someone that raised you had a successful life. yes maybe the "system" works for you, but the system doesn't work. do i agree with OWS? no not really i believe it will bring forth the one world government that most of us fear. a one world monetary system and one world laws that will make the laws and powers we are fighting more centralized.

there are people that get rich off of the suffering and the taking advantage of others. let's take china labor laws for example. if you are going to sell to the american people then give work and pay to the american people. don't give it to china just so you can save a few bucks here and there. you have enough money. you don't need more. it's that simple. that's how a healthy economic system works. why do you need to pay people cheap labor when you have more then enough money to live and pay your bills? why do you need more money? PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHY IN THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY DO YOU NEED MORE THAN OH IDK $300,000 dollars a year? WHY WHY WHY WHY? especially when the excess of your riches causes others to suffer? WHY? if you can answer that question then i will empathize with you, but you can't because it is absolutely unnecessary. it is a joke that anyone needs that much money, other than oh idk maybe just bragging rights. so in my honest opinion F the 1% they don't need it and honestly others do.

You're wrong in just about everything....

I grew up in a single mom household where we lived in HUD housing. I joined the military right out of high school because I didn't have a college fund.

You ask why someone needs more than $300k per year? Let me ask you two questions:

  1. The people in Africa want to know why you need more than $5k a year? "WHY WHY WHY" they ask...
  2. If nobody in this country made more than $300k a year, who exactly would build the factories and hire the workers? Who would front the cash to build the office buildings we work in? Who would fund the research and development of new technologies and programs?

Your complete lack of understanding of the world around you is almost painful to watch.

I don't know how OWS will do that. I think people fear one world because they don't know which world they'll get. I think people like the idea of being able to go to a different county if the one they're in isn't working out. At least there wouldn't be any "war".

Well, that leaves out the USA and China as desirable candidates for a one world government style.

Capitalism is about competition and profit. It's about winning the most income by any possible means.

It's a free company...er country. People are allowed and encouraged to horde. People enjoy playing the game for the riches it rewards using human pawns. If you're not lucky enough or controlling enough to be a winner, you can join the military and fight for your company...er country.

This isn't a movement about anything, unless you count being a movement simply for the sake of being a movement a purpose. It's no different than if I were to gather my neighbors and say, "Hey guys, what are you pissed about? Doesn't matter what it is, write your issue on a sign and let's go block traffic downtown!" Individuals within the movement have their own miscellaneous protests, but the "occupy" movement as a whole is ridiculously childish and asinine without a specific, clear agenda. I guess a lot of people have been bottling up their desire to protest and just burst one day and out came this worthless excuse.
