That's ONE of the culprits.

ATS took away the old report a virus form and old links resolve to the "upload" page. Yesterday I requested (via complaint) a new link to report the viruses. Never got one.

If I remember right the heidi one you listed went with the Java virus and then there are at least 3 more links I know of that go with a "fingerprinting" viruses that opens the door for several downloader viruses (and probably the java one too). IPs always end up back at RIPE in Amsterdam.

The ATS ad that is sending us these goodies starts with "pool2" in the name.

Specs Vista IE9 and Norton blocked all 4 of those viruses. Two diff viruses, 4 different URLS (not counting the hoster URL in the ad with pool2 in its name.)

I just logged off and restarted Firefox and it seems everything is working again...hopefully

I have noticed the past few days that ATS is loading just a tad bit slower than normal. but could be my connection...I have no idea just wanted to mention that.

Thanks Trexter. I had no idea we had a virus reporting page or I saw it and promptly forgot about it...

It would behoove ATS to re-instate it I think. I saw the php tag and was wondering if it was an ad responsible just wasn't sure. Glad you came along and let us know..Thanks. Hopefully ATS staff can send a righteous email to that ad company and give them the "what for".

You can just use the normal complaints form -- with as much detail as possible -- to report potential viruses.

I located a potential problematic ad, that appears to be repurposing an ad creative for Dove, and injecting a reload and potential redirect that may or may not work. This may be the possible source of the issue.

I've negated the source ad network from our rotation until they indicate it's been located and removed.

I'm not sure if you actually changed something just there, but it seems to be consistently working now in firefox.

Good Job SO and Staff...you guys rock!

Everything is working fine now and thanks for letting us know how to report this if it happens again...appreciate you diligence! Stinkin' 13 year olds with a computer...."Would you like to play a game?"

Using MSIE things have been peachy all day. I've noticed the net itself is a bit slow today, but I'm suspecting my DSL connection. I just don't seem to have the same problems with MSIE that other people report, plus it has this nifty RSS feed that is not duplicated by the other browsers. Yes, you can fish around and add one in, but with MSIE it isn't necessary to do that.

It's the ads.

There are ads now covering the link buttons on the top.

I can get where I want by getting creative, but it still stinks.

The only glitch I am having with ATS is the with the FLAG button which is just a blank black rectangle, no text in it and is not clickable. I can still STAR posts though and I am using IE 8 without Google Chrome. Reloading or logging out and back in again does not solve it as I thought it might. Everything else on ATS is working as it should. Anyone else have this glitch.

Actually, that's not a glitch. You need to have 20 posts to start a new thread, or Flag a thread.
Not sure when that changed regarding Flagging a thread, think it was a few months back.
Keep posting!

Well, looks like it's back again. Just got hit with the 5th alert (blocked) in two days, after locking up.

Yep.... something is up again.

This time I clicked over to BTS & right after the page loaded I was redirected to a page that attempted to install software.

Here is a screen shot:

I'm using Firefox 7.something. No problems logging in.

The Search Engine is "loading" but never actually loads for me this morning.

Any insights?

I was having trouble too for the last couple of days, running Firefox 7.0.1. The frustration was unbelievable. Froze up when i would scroll. I think i had 2 antivirus running so i deleted McAfee and left AVG, seems better today, or maybe just got lucky. I too dislike IE, don't like the way the tabs work. Upgraded couple of days ago to Firefox 7.0.1 and every time i upgrade i loose my bookmarks and have to start from scratch. Guess they all have their issues.
