I was just about to post this. A house blew up and some other houses around it were broken. A firemen said he heard the explosion 50 blocks away from where it happened. The neighbours are talking about a blueish ball of light falling from the sky. I can't help but feel this has something to do with the UARS satellite that conveniently fell on the ocean without hurting anyone.
The neighbors, startled by the noise, came out of their homes and some of them maintained that in the moments before the explosion, they saw a beam of light shining in the sky, which gave rise to speculation in the fall of an element as the cause of the accident.

Another resident who lives near the two houses destroyed in the blast said he had seen "a very strong flash followed by an enormous noise," an account that agrees with that of an employee at a nearby 24-hour store.

The first article is actually in another language, so the word "beam" is possibly a translation error, I don't see how it fits in either, just more crap to muddy up the waters. As for the flash, I hadn't read anything about it until now, that's why I mentioned it.

I'm not sure what a beam of light shining in the sky has to do with a falling object but an explosion does tend to have a flash involved. Depending on how far away you are from it, the "boom" will come after the flash.
There are no confirmed photos of the fire ball at this time, and the cause of the explosion has not officially been determined.

We had something similar here last night, it was around 4:30 AM Local time, local being central Florida, on September 26, 2011. I was walking into a convenience store where a few of my friends work, one of them was outside sweeping as i was walking in, no sooner than i opened the door, we heard a sonic boom, we look in the direction that the sound came from and the sky begins glowing a purple-pink color we see something fall and then a bright flash, followed by what sounded like buildings collapsing! After i got what i needed i drove in the direction the object was sighted, i drove for miles but didn't see anything. I went home thinking something would have been in the paper the following day, but there was nothing, nothing in the paper, nothing on the internet...does anyone have any idea on what it could have been?

Everyone says Elenin has disentegrated, but if it was as large as first reported then could it not have the possibility of raining smaller objects in various places? I just think that if it was headed our way and "broke up" then wouldn't we still see debris falling to Earth?
