Here is something more on it (direct statement) from the Chilean Director of Skywatch:
The original image has been colored for analysis purposes and temperature variation is 40°C between colors. The black ring shows a temperature over 50°C and in the central part about 10°C. The lines that can be seen in front of the UFO belong to electromagnetic interference that apparently eminates from the UFO. Importantly this does not represent a malfunction with this satellite, for similar photo's were taken by GOES image servers around the world and erased very quickly in the U.S.A.

1992, quite astonishing that most of us, desktop ufo researchers, haven't seen it yet.

The reason most "desktop" UFO researchers haven't seen it is because it is a 20 year old solved mystery.

I'm gonna have to agree that it's the moon.
If you understand the way the pictures are taken then you'd see how this is possible.

The people who took the photo probably understand how it was taken, so how come they don't tink it is the moon?
According to THIS PAGE, the camera takes 18 minutes to take a picture of the earth.
According to Mario Vilches, the gigantic saucer measured "400 kilometers (240 miles) in diameter."

I suppose I can go with the fact that it is the moon, but I do have one last question.
According to Mario Vilches, the gigantic saucer measured "400 kilometers (240 miles) in diameter."
Doesn't the moon have a bit larger diameter then that? Seems 240 miles would be rather small for the moon.
