The GOP is scrambling to stop this Paul movement. They're running scared, which leads me to believe maybe Ron Paul really is bigger than these Internet polls and has a very good chance of becoming the GOP candidate.
RON PAUL 2012

You guys? You seem to be mistaken... The thought of voting for that socialist Obama never once crossed my mind. Please, tell me who you would like to be our next President, I need a good laugh.

Listening to a political party is no way to think for yourself. If you don't think Obama isn't the slightest bit of a socialist, here's the Steve Wynn, the CEO of Wynn Resorts, shedding some light on this issue.

No way, Ron Paul is running as a Republican??! I guess I should pay attention more often How am I contradicting myself, because I used a liberal Democrat as an example of just one of the many people who disagree with Obama's policies? You should really stop putting words into people's mouths, I am by no means offended by you not supporting Ron Paul or the fact you call him a "dream," but I am slightly offended that you would ASSuME I
voted for Obama.

ATS suffers from what i call "Insulation Syndrome". You spend most of your time talking with people who are like you and believe the same things you do, therefore you have an inflated sense of how many people actually share those views. How does that apply to Ron Paul? As a woman with average friends all I have to do is ask "What do you think of Ron Paul". I generally get a "Who?" or an eye roll. His name only comes up among his political ardent who really seem to annoy conservatives in my town. I've found this to be true with almost every group of average people I have encountered. Big on the internet does not equal big in real life.
Start flaming guys, but the reality here is Paul will never win the nod. Assassination fantasies are pointless, the guy will never win and you know it. maybe he will run as a third party candidate and split the Conservative vote. Stop putting all your faith in this guy like he is the Messiah and move on to something productive because this bird is never coming off the ground guys.

Not a flame, but what the hell are you talking about? Faith? Messiah? Why do people want to resort to religion comparisons with paul supporters? That makes no since at all, if it was, then he would be a shoe in with all the religious nuts in the world, don’t you think? Ron Paul is a real human being. He is not some 10 thousand year old myth come back from the grave. He is an American who wants to return our Constitutional Rights that have been eroded to a nub by the corrupt bastards in DC.
"Assassination fantasies are pointless" Oh right like we don't assassinate. You might want to research that, I believe it was last year they said they can assassinate americans citizens too. Even MSNBC covered this.

My biggest concern with Ron Paul is his stance on social health care and social security, meaning the lack there of. I am disabled by multiple sclerosis and cannot work. I have been fighting for Disability for the past 5 years. The day I get it will be the best miracle of my life. For those like me who can't work and NEED Disability, what would happen to us?

Sounds to me like you have a desire for bigger government, more loss of freedoms, jobs, value of your dollar, ETC and though you may be right that....
How in the hell does stating the reality that Ron Paul would never win correlate to a desire for bigger government? You guys hero worship the man and that isn't my fault. You have hung every hope on him. I'm sorry, you are going to get let down. Santa isn't real, the Easter bunny doesn't exist and there is no tooth fairy while I am at it. Hey, if this fantasy makes you happy go for it though. You guys need to move on to more productive uses of your time besides cheerleading a man who will never win. Might I suggest finding the next savior who will single-handedly save the world?

I notice your use of savior and the other religious references are almost a constant. Is it that you think that we are paying more attention to this guy, Dr. Ron Paul then we are to your savior, what's his name, and you find it disrespectful to your beliefs. I am not saying it is so, just reminiscent of others that have done the same.
There is nothing more productive then retaining freedom.

As for who you stand behind in the next Presidential nomination, as much as you might disagree, it is important. If you can't stand up for who or what you believe in you might as well fall back in line like a good sheep.
I'll do some editing too I guess: If Paul doesn't get the GOP candidacy, I will not be voting for Romney or Perry. I will exercise my rights as a voter and write in Paul's name. Now, more than ever, it is very important to stick to your words and beliefs.edit on 25-9-2011 by Arrrr because: (no reason given)

I am agnostic, i use the terminology because that is how people on ATS treat this guy. He's the "ONE", the "ONLY GUY". I find it silly a whole group of people who scream about sheep and individuality are nothing more than a flock for a different person.
If you want change you'd do better than rooting for a guy who can't beat a rigged system.
