Why is the majority of ATS users Socialists/Liberals/Communists/Marxists/Etc?

Now, don't get me wrong I love a debate, but there comes a point where I find it ridiculous some of the threads that is created on here.

Why is there such extreme hate for Israel? - When I first joined there was a few threads on this certain subject. But nothing near the level that we have today.

Human rights - There has to come a point where people 'Void' there right to human rights. You seem to like to defend the indefensible.

I just want a healthy discussion on people's political views because, as you guessed it, im quite the conservative but still find myself interested in conspiracy theories and other non-MSM news topics.

Anyway, im sure you guys are going to tear me to shreds. I just wanted to ask. Enjoy.

Extremism in any form is bad, balance in everything.

the truth is never to the far left or right but somewhere in the middle, holding too strongly to a political ideology is silly.

I think most on here are closer to Libertarians than anything else.

But a lot of people on here subscribe to the belief the Israel controls our government and think that Israel is wrong for defending herself.

I don't agree with that, but like minds tend to hang out and here at ATS there are a lot of conspiracy theorist that believe Israels actions are too much, but never care to think about what they would do if they were in Israels shoes.

Extreme hate for Israel? I see it differently, I see various threads discussing various aspects that relate to Israel. The possible link to 911 is a popular one. And of course, their treatment of the people of Gaza and the struggle to find peace between the two groups.

But see, and maybe it's cause the mods get there before I read them, i don't see many posts showing "extreme hatred" towards Israel. But what I do see, is plenty of posts reminding me that those Arabs (Muslims) [the terms keep being traded back and forth like Jew and Israel] aren't humans and should be slaughtered, in fact, some posts are well beyond the hate speech line.

And you, my friend, did something similar. you honestly believe those civilians, including the ones not taking part in attacks and not supporting the terrorism, have "voided" their human rights?

Ever heard of the illuminati? They are basically originated from the zionist jews, they carry their beliefs, and are covertly trying to subvert the world under their control.

Not sure if this has anything to do with "all the israel hate" but i would suspect it has something to do with it. The rest is probably the usual u know, they being warmongerers, oppressing the palestinians in the gaza strip, constantly wanting to flex their muscles etc.

It's funny us lefties think ATS is right wing dominated, right wingers think ATS is dominated by the left. From personal experience I happen to believe there are many more right wingers than left, check the amount of Ron Paul or anti Obama threads out there.

I do not choose to label myself as anything. I do not like labels.

If I should happen to share a few views in common with another group, then so be it. It does not mean that I support all of their views.

Israel could have been a state next to Iowa or something, not in the middle of some other people's land.
They claim to be the people of god, so then what gives? They should be understanding, or co-exist on that land.
Instead they've created an apartheid and injustice and disgraced the name of 'god'.

Human Rights, we all deserve a right to live, treat others the way you would like to be treated. Without it, your right to exist will have the same limitations as mine, and thus just as worthy. Either a king's gold or a peasent's rags.

I am just looking for a healthy debate on this subject. I was drawn to this website due to me being extremely interested in extraterrestrials and Area 51/Dulce Base but the political arguments are hard to ignore too

You are correct; most ATS users are of those background and belief systems. This is kind of amusing if you think about it. It just shows their lack of knowledge. Those systems of government/economics you mentioned are where people place faith within the government to do what is best for them, when ATS is all about questioning the government and having much doubt in their ability to perform basic services, hide information from the public, or have alternate motives,etc. It’s quite @$$ backwards if you ask me.

I came for the same sort of thing but stuck around for the politics. So what is your opinion on the Middle east situation and what is your problem with human rights? You never know when you might need those rights in the future.

I think it is a matter of your personal perception to say "majority" of users.

Why not suggest a related survey for ATS to conduct?

THAT would be interesting if all respondents were in fact truthful.

This is quite accurate. It's the political environment that has been created that any opposing view is because they are "X or Y". Independent thought is not allowed. I've been accused of being a "tree hugging liberal". I've also been branded, OMG, wait for it, a "conservative". People are only seeing what they want to. Which is quite sad for people that are considered adults. Take off the blinders. Look at the world, this board even and you will see that there's lots of differing opinions that may have merit. Labels have no merit.

ETA: I can't be pigeonholed because I refuse to be. My politics doesn't define me. I define my politics.

Because Israel treats its minority citizens like second-class citizens. I'm not saying the Palestinians are totally innocent; I'm merely saying that the Israeli government frequently responds with undue harshness and uncontrolled aggression to even the smallest of provocations.

I agree. The problem is where to draw that line. The problem is that even once that line is drawn, how can I be sure that the person losing those rights is truly deserving to lose them; that is, how can I be 100% sure they're guilty? Problem is, I never get to that point.

Perhaps you've confused hate for a corrupt government for hate for a nation filled with human souls?

But there are people with extreme views wherever you go, can't change all of their minds if someone is ignorant enough to condemn people and their culture due to the rotten eggs at the top.
