I've seen that some folks have been able to work around this by embedding image shack images but, I really don't like the idea of having to create an account and go through a 3rd party to embed my pics.

I hope they get ATS media up and running again soon.

They're hooked on the corporate dick just like a majority of their viewers. The Media Bone's connected to the Corporate Bone and the Corporate Bone is connected to the Federal Bone and the Federal Bone's connected to the Military Bone and the Military Bone's connected to the Assholes who ruined the North America as a whole. Not much a investigation needed there.

Now what's wrong with the ATS Media Center? Not a damn clue, somebody's probably mining the Servers for Data on it's users =)

Yet another IS test

We purchased a reasonably slick solution, that isn't able to be functional on our servers -- as it turns out. The developer blames aspects of our security setup for the failure of their AJAX user interface.

We may be looking at rolling our own solution. More coming as I know it -- and once I compensate with some tequila for banging my head against their code.

Yes... for a time at least... probably 2-3 months.

None of your images will ever be removed. However, once a new solution is in place, we'll be phasing out aspects of media.abovetopsecret.com.

And, just to be on the safe side, because I'll be working on the image hosting, we completed a backup of all 4.7 terabytes of member-uploaded files (more than 120,000 files). Typically we don't back up those files because we mirror them through our Content Delivery Network -- in theory, once the file is accessed by "someone," we could delete it. But you guys know me better than that.

We have progress.

I have a prototype running that enables uploads -- with progress bar -- that uploads your files, assigns a new unique short file name, and creates thumbnails on the fly. Thumbnails will be used for easy browsing of your image library.

The goal is to have this tightly integrated into the board and tools menu, with no additional log-ins needed.
