So I live in Washington state. Across the water from Seattle. But yesterday night I heard explosions like a power plant or transformers exploding and neon white yellow, red, green and blue lights lit up the sky flashing every couple minutes.. This was at about 9 pm last night. The explosions happened before ever flash of light in the sky. The direction it was coming from was east of me toward Seattle. Anyone see this? I know for a fact it was not any type of fireworks because these flashes where so high in the sky and it was Wednesday and the natives round here don't have mortars that can be this hardcore. can anyone explain what I saw last night because i don't have a clue.

Very interesting. The same things were being reported in New Jersey just shortly after midnight on 9/11/11.

I wonder if this is related? Everyone was saying that the occurrences in Jersey were simply firework displays, but the "explosions" and lights lasted until 3-4am. Very strange indeed.

So far I haven't found anything reported.
What general direction? Was it toward downtown,Queen Anne, Tukwila, etc.?
I know they are doing roadwork at night. Could it be viaduct related?

I haven't heard anything from my friends in Seattle, but we do have people from there on ATS. Maybe someone heard or saw something.

Edit: The superstitious part of me thinks you could've witnessed earthquake lights, but that's because today's the predicted day for the big one.

Last night seems to have been an interesting one for strangeness in the sky, as well as several eq's spread around, seems like almost every where in the west coast saw or experienced something.

I live in Monroe, so this may have occured west of us. Go figure... as the nights have cooled I chose last night, for the first time since July, not to sit on my porch and watch the sky.

I'll put on a hoody tonight and climb to the roof.

We haven't had any stormy weather either, so I would not be inclined to call it lightning or transformers being hit by tree branches.

Maybe Bellevue is in fact a colony of alien snobs getting ready to launch the city into space an monitor the no-fly zone on the moon with traffic cameras! Gotta make that quota somehow

Last night was really cloudy and these colored flashing lights were higher then the clouds it seemed. I know what I saw wasn't normal, and it really freaked me out. My family saw it to so I know i'm not going crazy
If I had to pin point the location it was coming from I would say right over the Seattle area.

Columbia Tower?

If the cloud level is even with the tops of the buildings, you could have.simply witnessed the airline lights atop creating a glow in the clouds.

I witness a 15 min light show in the sky. It was not a airplane. All the colors I saw in the clouds were flashing neon colors. Only after a explosion noise would you be able to see the flash of light. This activity I noticed in the sky stayed in the same place for 15 plus minutes so it couldn't be a airplane

Interesting, I'm in Auburn which is like 16 miles South, I didn't hear it down here but I'll ask some friends in the area if they heard anything last night.

So..this event lasted "15 plus minutes"....did you take a video or some photos then? I live in downtown Seattle and I was out for a neighborhood walk at 9pm and I saw and heard nothing.

I was going to run inside to grab my camera but I knew it would be low quality and no one would see it. But I'll be out again tonight ready to go so if something comes up ill get it posted. But it's hard to believe you didn't hear or see anything. At first I thought Seattle was getting bombed or something until i saw all the neon lights.

A flash after the explosion?

Usually it is the other way around, but with UFO's you never know.

I guess you did see the "next" explosion while hearing the previous one.

How about the lights atop the buildings? The sounds could have been the railcars on your side of the WS bridge. Could the Longshoreman have been slamming them together a little harder than usual? After all... we found out earlier this week how they are reacting to the smaller unions.

I'm not claiming that what you saw and heard was normal or even identifyible. Just trying to point out the most logical explainations first.

Due to the timing and the description of lights, it sounds like you witnessed a concert or something similar.
The clouds here in Tacoma were low last night, (I'm assuming it was the same in Seattle). Low clouds have been known to reflect neon lights and to carry sound over long distances.
I'm not to familiar with Seattle's events, does anyone know if there was a concert/event in the Seattle center or downtown last night?

Good point. Light always reaches the senses prior to sound. A good example of that is watching a large fireworks display from 1/8 mile plus away.

To you it may be hard to believe that I didn't see or hear anything....but I didn't. I am certainly not going to pretend I saw or heard something...because other people have claimed to. I have to tell the truth. By the way...I am not saying it didn't happen...I am just saying...I didn't see or hear anything. and again I live in downtown Seattle fairly close to the water.

You ever hear or see a transformer blow up? because that's what it sounded like..It sounds like a bomb and when a transformer blows it shoots out a neon green/yellow flash in the sky. but I saw flashes of neon red, blue, yellow, green. It wasn't a mix of colors either. and numerous explosions that seemed to be higher than the clouds. I don't think a concert could pull this type of light show.

Very interesting. Maybe it was closer to my house then I though, But I know my whole family saw it as well so I wasn't the only one to see it.
