Can't wait till October / November when this all ends, one way or another.

It won't end then because then all the Nibiru nuts will jump on the 2012 Mayan Calendar End of the World bandwagon and by the time that one passes i'm sure some hoaxer will come up with a new end of the world prediction.

You're aware that Elenin's closest approach is no closer than Venus, right? You're also aware that a planet approaching the earth would have been visible (& detected) long ago? I'll assume you're also aware that if such a body existed, it would have already demonstrated gravitational influences (& measured) years ago?

How do you explain why none of the above has happened? Do you know better than professional astronomers? Are they covering something sinister up? If so, what about the thousands of amateur astronomers that survey the heavens every night?

Honest to goodness, this Elenin business is only an "issue" for Internet forum posters. Really. That's not a snotty comment - it's reality.

Exactly what difference does it make what it is? Elenin, Nibiru, Marduk, Wormwood, Annunaki Mothership, Federation Death Star. If you fear something will happen, then prepare you & your family. It's a prudent decision. No one will fault you for it. No one will question your intent. If all is well, great. If something bad that's out of our control takes place and there's world wide pandemonium. Then being prepared was a good thing.

We are a hardy lot...us humans. So hardy we feel the need to murder each other by the millions in these things we call wars, just to cull the herd. If and out side intelligence came here to do us harm, they would discover after some time... that humans are the galaxy's cockroaches....really hard to eradicate..

Please refer to my post earlier in this thread where I explain why Nibiru (at least Sitchin and Lieder's Nibiru) does not exist. There could be a companion star in our solar system, but the odds of being on a 3600 year orbit and following the orbit Sitchin proposed are astronomical. This is because Sitchin's Nibiru is not based in any kind of fact.

The Blue Star Kachina prophecy is not a real prophecy. No Hopi has ever come forward and stated this is a prophecy of their people. Instead, a group of Hopi elders have come forward and released a press release that warns people about listening to non-Hopi speaking about things they claim are Hopi in origin. If you can find me a Hopi source for the prophecy I am more than willing to accept it as legitimate, but so far I have been incapable of finding one.

As I said just read the stuff and make your own asumptions. Heck thats why we learned to read, read everything. I have found that some of the best barbs of wisdom come from the most strangest of places. You just keep an open mind.

Its like the old conflict over: Do pretzels go better with draft, or do peanuts..
Yeah I know thats a bit off the subject unless you look between the lines.

listen to em, it gets right on my raving titties, all this fannying about. nothing we can do about it if its real, so why even worry or speculate about what could happen.

Well that's weird, seeing as we have yet to discover a single comet made of ice.

I am very comfortable in the fact that Elenin and Nibiru pose no threat. Apparently, one of these bodies has disintegrated to the point of almost nothingness. There might be a brown dwarf and other things out there in our galaxy. However, I am at peace with the fact that there isn't one coming to visit us any time soon.

I do puzzle as to why people keep insisting that these two entities are going to herald the end of the world in a cataclysmic way. The world will end in a catastrophe but not from Nibiru or Elenin. It is inevitable that something from deep space will knock us out of existence. It is all a matter of time. However, time can span eons. We simply do not know what will bring our demise or when. Really, it could be anything at anytime.

I think the subject of these two space-entities keeps surfacing because people are tired. Tired of the war, racism, hate, poverty, lack of jobs, lack of . Clearly, the way we live on this planet is unsustainable.

I want change too. I feel like we are on the cusp of change. I feel it and I want it. Maybe people look to Elenin and Nibiru because they are desperate for a bearer of change. I speculate that is the biggest reason these threads keep coming up. I also speculate that people are looking to 2012 and hoping something more happens that shows us how special we are in the Universe. The fact is that we are insignificant in a cosmic way.

I feel change is coming. I hope that the race of humanity can bring on the change without the need of a big and horrible catastrophe descending from the sky. Just my thoughts on why these threads keep popping up even when science demonstrates there is NO Danger

So with nothing in it's path, and nothing physical to destroy Elenin, it just for no apparent logical reason, broke apart into little bits and pieces. I don't buy it. I am not saying either of the two are a real "threat" to earth, but I find it a bit odd that it broke apart. Coming closer o the sun? Give me a break. Since we have yet to discover any comet made of ice and snow, I really don't believe the heat from the sun would have caused this comet to break apart.

No. It won't pass between the Sun and Earth.
It will be above the ecliptic at that time.

Its magnetic field will.

Ice = no magnetic field.

The fact that it has melted pretty much identifies that it is ice.

Please provide proof that it does not exist.

One cannot prove a negative. For example, my wallet is missing. Prove to me you don't have it.

As with all things, one must prove something is real, not that it is not since the absence of existence is already proven.

Elenin has not "melted." It broke apart, at least according to NASA. If it melted, this would be the first ever comet discovered that 1) was made of ice 2) that melted.

Give me a break. Please.

So then, can you explain why Comet West, Comet Schwasmann-Wachmann, and others have broken up as they approached the Sun? Elenin is not the first example we have of a comet breaking up, so if you have a problem with it breaking up you also have a problem with a number of other comets.
