Some of the difficulty in the subject seems to come from trying to translate non-linear thinking into linear thinking.

Kind of like a 3-dimensional being trying to explain their world and perspective to a 2-dimensional being. But how does one describe something that the other does not or cannot experience?

Perhaps many of us (indigos, crazies, starmonkeys, etc) are not necessarely narcissists or every hateful comment you spewed, perhaps we are normal people who in some ways are different. In a world of senseless mockery and belligerent narcissists, where bieng even a fraction different from the majority is simply unacceptable. Say, for example there is a child in 3rd grade who reads at a highschool level and has an IQ of 95, but has a lack of concentration due to the child exploring different ways to solve a complex mathematical equation in their mind, this child since different would be labeled as having a mental disorder. My point is, maybe some of us are different and we know it, we label ourselves so we know that we are not alone and their are others like us. Am I saying we are better, smarter, or superior in any shape or form? No. As I stated I was "normal" until a supposed "super moon" ( lunar activity proven to affaect the human brain) after about a week I notice a strong change, as someone who has been on both sides of the fence, I know that this "trait" is one that can not be understood on wikipedia or any other "information source" it is one that you cannot judge or draw a firm conclusion about unless you have in-fact experienced it yourself. I was raised christian, and I was raised that psychics, occult, magic, etc. etc. was just all bologna, in reality some such statements are just made by ignorant people who can't summon a strong argument.

Alas, I am unsure of where you gathered your information from, but it doesn't sound like solid argument. Oh. and yopu mentioned your mother was a "malignant narcissist," NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) is often genetically carried from a parent to it's offspring, I know this because I happen to have a doctorate in human psychology, a Phd in Criminal Psychology, and a minor in human anatomy and biology, so cheers friend

Sincerely,

The remaining difficulty is people not being able to grasp that painful old nettle called critical thinking.

True, however critical thinking often involves a clear and concise point, something to make the opposing party think.

I'm sorry if this sounds arrogant, but I can't help but feel that all this indigo cobblers is a bunch of new age hippy nonsense that socially inept attention seekers tell themselves in order to make themselves feel better.
For my part, I'm just an overly introverted, temperamental sod and I don't need a special name for it. If you were to ask almost anyone in my local, most of them would claim many of these "indigo" traits.

Sorry everyone, but I think it's baloney.

You know what the point is. The lack of any attempt to deal the obvious point made by anyone claiming to have an "indigo soul" or whatever this fantasy is speaks volumes.

A race has to exist before it can be discriminated against.

The worrying part is the mindset you talk about is by far the most ripe for mind control and social engineering.

Some of these more keen to learn types need to be a little more selective what they learn and who from. That's my opinion and it isn't entirely from a position of ignorance.

Everyone is very good at some things and very poor at others. Those who are utterly brilliant at some things are usually utterly useless at others. That is the nature of genius which has been around for thousands of years and is nothing new. Nor are socially abnormal children/people anything new.

You're right, it's baloney.

Yeah! me too, when I was younger I could tell what a person/people are going to do next.....
It was fine when I was drunk in a pub, s'n-word'ing with mates, telling them about a victim tht I was focused on. But got scary when sober or older.... wanted it to stop, so I stopped,
As I got older & wiser, more curious I tried to switch "it" back on, but alas till now can`t get any more than reading body language???:

There doesn't seem to be ny evidence.Well this isn't a scientific magazine. But there doesn't appear to be any actual facts as such at all. Just a load of people that think they are indigo children. No criteria. People can call themselves what they want. I am now a "mauve magi". Criteria to be a mauve magi.
1. To want to call myself a mauve magi.
2. See rule number 1.

Indigo children are just some new age crap made up by people with a need to feel superior to others.

You can see by the posts how many people here are "indigo children".

But really, there is such a thing. It a terrible birth defect that makes ones skin pale and blue, they rarely live to be 10 years old.

You may have been an empath (pretty much indigo) if it wasn't just because you were just a kid. if you're emotionally sensitive then the ability never left it just became dormant you'd just have to reacivate it. Me, i can't get rid of it and i've never met anyone who has managed to do so, we just live with it.
