Known for her non-judgmental attitudes, and embracing people with AIDS during the years of stigma and "plague", I think that lady had something real and special. Copied rather than ridiculed, Tammy Faye survived whatever scandals to become a legend.

One hears that not only has the "fuller figure" returned for female fashion images, but in SA there are campaigns for "truth in advertising" (which are against photo-shopped images), and sometimes I wonder whether drag images have fed back to mainstream fashion.

Lets face it, a lot of Rupauls "drag race" competitors are plus sizes around the edges - figures that could not compete in the Western fashion industry for women at the time.

What is a "drag queen"?

Perhaps there are many motivations, but I'd say it's to entertain.

Not to exclude anybody, but the definition goes beyond gay or straight.

In fact, some famous drag queens were straight.

We don't have this franchise here, so I was curious to know what it was all about, and some long thread did give me an idea, but I'd have never thought it's pronounced "Chick fillet".
How did that pronunciation happen?
It almost sounds French.
