Im down in San Diego, and power just returned to my neck of the woods. Power went out around 1530 at Naval Base San Diego. Closed down the building at 1645, and drove home in complete darkness. Checked Power and Gas company down here right about 1600 before I lost all cell phone service, including 3G capabilities. At that time SDG&E had no idea of the cause, or when power would return.
Rolling brown outs is not the case. Power company will let folk know ahead of time when they do rolling brown outs. Could not be anything too minute or severe, in my opinion, because someone would have been able to tpinpoint the cause with quickness. Had to be a problem unprepared for, or unknown.
Apparently, word came through, I havent verified, but should be easy enough, that power is sent from Arizona somehow, and a worker at the plant "pulled the wrong switch" or something like that. Once again I have not verified this claim. If that is the official word though, I cry bullscat.
Was really hoping for this to last a week or two, as most people I know arent prepared for an emergency and always give me a hard time for being "stocked" with weeks worth of food, water, and gas. Would have been nice to give em the ol "I told you so."

Makes you wonder how people will react and survive when a major earthquake hits somewhere around there.
Scary!
