I agree though what is your view?
Is the Government of Israel wrong or it's citizens that disagree with them that are wrong??

Know what it would take to end the blockade of Gaza? Probably something as simple as Hamas changing their charter from "Drive the Jews into the sea" to something a bit less provocative. It's kind of hard to negotiate in good faith with people who are sworn to your destruction. Notice the West Bank, which is controlled by the Palestinian Authority as opposed to Hamas, is NOT blockaded. That might also be because rockets and mortars aren't being launched from the WB every day.

Do the Palestinians in the WB hate the Israelis less than those living in Gaza? Doubtful. They have a better standard of living because they aren't a constant threat - either real, or on paper - to Israel's security. Common sense folks.

It's been a long time since an Arab army stood up against the Israelis, but every time is has happened in the past, the Arabs limped away humiliated. I fear the Turks have forgotten this lesson.

Err...Yes but Turks are not Arabs so there is no lesson to be forgetting, and this would be the first time a TURKISH army would fight Israel but i highly doubt any conflict between Turkey and Israel especially with the history of Judaism within the Turkish elite including Erdogan and Davutoglu whose name translates into "son of David" in Turkish.

Are you trying to say Israel only controls Gaza and solely because of Hamas??

You are joking right??

Israel controls ALL of Palestine. Not just Gaza..

Nothing gets in or out without Israeli permission and that includes airspace and news..

i think, if goods like fertilizer are used in gaza to build rockets, the israeli government has the right and duty to search any vessels for goods that are suitable to harm israeli citizens.
it is like an embargo for certain goods.

Israel has shown that they have constantly faced real threats and beaten them, Turkey will fail trying to break a legal blockade.

under which laws is this blockade ratified...

Thing is... Hamas was not like that before. The ``moderate`` people of Hamas were in control just before their election in 2006 and for about 6 months after. But they lost control because the west cut foreign aid and the Palestinian economy collapsed... then people were really pissed and supported the radicals. This was all engineered. The elite doesn't want peace. Peace doesn't make $$$.

Notice the West Bank, which is controlled by the Palestinian Authority as opposed to Hamas, is NOT blockaded.

Notice that the Palestinians elected Hamas when they had a democratic election. Know why? Because Fatah is corrupt to the bone. They are basically Israel-US puppets.

That might also be because rockets and mortars aren't being launched from the WB every day.

And people are not launching rockets from the west bank... because their economy isn't in shambles.

Nobody wants peace, not the Israeli government, not Washington DC, not the radicals now in control in Hamas... the only one who want peace don't have power... if you don't carry a stick, you don't control policy. If all people were armed, the thugs who call themselves politicians wouldn't pull crap like they do all the time.

Anyway, wouldn't surprise me if Erdogan really goes against Israel, that he would be taken out by an US-Israel backed coup.

Those of you who think ,Israel would stand a chance against turkey in combat are delusional ,you could fit Israel 36 times inside turkey ,without the US support Israel would be nothing ,the arrogance of Israel is amazing ,refusing to apologize.

There are 7 million inhabitants of Israel, which 1.4million of those are Arabs ,and Turkey has 73+ million ,just numbers alone ,Turkey isn't a 3rd world country ,they have a serious military.

Anyway i very much doubt it will result in conflict ,i think Israel knows they pushed there luck to far.

Why are you celebrating? What good could possibly come of this?

Israel has already said it would pass any humanitarian aid to Gaza at its expense through any of the ports adjacent to Gaza, and now that the Rafah crossing is open Gaza has that option too..

What's the point of this then? Isn't Egypt the one acting like a bully trying to force its way through a blockade that's been recently declared legal by the U.N?

With respect,
Eliad.

I don't think Turkey would be able to wage a successful campaign against Israel on its own turf. For one the distance from Israel poses a serious issue, two Israel has no plans on ever going on the offensive, and its defensive capabilities are quite capable of handling any Turkish assault, taking into account the number of soldiers and the size of land they have to defend, and three the diplomatic and economic repercussions would be enough to deter Turkey.

In short- Turkey's the one that should be scared of doing anything if that nature, too bad it's run by a child.

Seems like an empty threat.

With respect,
Eliad.

wow talk about provocation.

I wonder how Americans would respond if Iran decided to patrol American waters, bringing aid to the terrorists at Gauntanomo Bay.

There would be a heyday in the media.

Israel has EVERY RIGHT, extended by the UN declaration of rights, to protect its sovereignty, and protect its people from harm.

Gaza is a terror state, who decided to elect Hamas - a terror organization - as its elected representatives. Israel thus has no choice but to block its ports, and keep an eye on what comes into the gaza strips.

Its as if you leftist morons dont understand that weapons into Gaza = the death of Israeli citizens. Are you FOR this?

Sweet.... Turkey finally manning up to the bullies.

Report: Turkey navy to escort aid ships to Palestinians in Gaza

Turkish officials tell Hurriyet Daily News that Turkish navy will strengthen presence in eastern Mediterranean Sea to stop Israeli 'bullying'.

"The eastern Mediterranean will no longer be a place where Israeli naval forces can freely exercise their bullying practices against civilian vessels," a Turkish official was quoted as saying.

As part of the plan, the Turkish navy will increase its patrols in the eastern Mediterranean and pursue "a more aggressive strategy".

According to the report, Turkish naval vessels will accompany civilian ships carrying aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Additionally, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan instructed his foreign ministry to organize a trip for him to the Gaza Strip in the near future.

Hell yeah Erdogan! Israel's government bullying needs to stop. Turkey's navy will make sure of that.

And if Israel wants to go at it with Turkey, they better ready their nukes because that's the only way they gonna win.

Israel needs to man up, SUPPORT a palestinian state, make economic deals with them... make peace with everyone and stop acting like they are above everyone else. Going to war isn't what a real leader does. Going to war is ``easy``... what is hard is NOT going to war and DEAL with the actual problems.

The Israelis wouldn't dare fire at the Turkish vessels. Because they're well trained at shooting at defenseless people.

Please, let me quote Ataturk's speech on Palestine (no Israel back then)

"That's bad too see that Arabs couldn't affect European politics and believed in so-called "independence" word, meanwhile they made their countries captive of European imperialism.

Noone can know the displeasure and the chaos between Arabs, as we know. We kept away from them for a while. But now, we believe in ourselves and won't let Jewish and Christians to control the holy places of Islam, because we know our strength. Therefore, we want to say that we won't allow there to be the playground of the European Imperialism. We have been accused of being atheist and incurious on Islam.
But despite these accusations, we're ready to shed our bloods to fulfill Prophet's last request (desire), I mean, the holy places to stay under Muslim Control.

As we can express that we won't allow Foreigns to capture the places where our ancestors, under Salahaddin's command, fought against Christians; we're strong by Allah's grace. We don't have doubt about that all Islam world will defend together, when Europe will try to capture these holy places. "

Make your own conclusions, but mine is, that if anyone will attack Israel in future, it will either be Turkey or Iran. No one else has got the balls to risk getting nuked.

I completely agree,.

I was thinking the same thing.

Im guessing Turkey will provoke Israel, and Israel will respond - not by nuking them, but simply a military scuffle.

Somewhere down the road politics will burn away at the situation and Iran will attack the wests most valuable ally; Saudi Arabia - their oil lifeline.

Why do soime here rub their hands with glee at the thought of conflict betweeen Israel and Turkey?
What a tinder box this would open.

Surely an end to this problem by compromise on both sides is what should be wished for.

Turkey will not imho fire on Israel it would scupper their joining the EU for one thing,

There is no compromise.

Israel is in the right; it has to protect its people by placing an embargo on the port of Gaza - to prevent the importation of arms used against Israeli citizens.

A compromise would be an Israeli concession; not just towards terrorists, but towards anyone who challenges their sovereignty and right to guard their land and people.

It is a completely unfair situation. And its especially sickening since its comin from Turkey ie; the same Turkey killing kurds in Southeastern Turkey.

Maybe Israel should send some Tanks into Kurdistan???
