I heard this back during that flotilla attack. Good job to Turkey. I even hear their prime minister will be on it. If Israel attack Turkey's escorts ALL of Nato will attack Israel "an attack on one member is an attack on all" Article 5 of the NATO treaty. It has only been invoked once when 9/11 happened. Israel is a nation not a group and Turkey is a NATO member and an important ally, it would be the ultimate test of the resolve and integrity of NATO.

Fact is Israel has commited countless war crimes, upto and not limited to murder, chemical weapons, colonisation of Palestinian lands, segregation via huge wall *cough* Warsaw *cough* and destruction of heritage. Hamas has also committed crimes, they are the enemy not the palestinians as a whole.

Do you wonder why Hamas fires their little pop rockets in anger? I would do the exact same and more if they did that to me. Stop the settlers, call for a truce, halt construction of the wall, loosen the blockade. Say "Enough is enough we have both lost to many of our people, Let's put the religion crap and political red tape aside and have a proper sit down face to face and try to sort this out like adults and not children in a tantrum with no meddling international interference and back room deals which rape our people left right and centre".

Will they do that? I doubt it. Most of Israel is brainwashed by Zionism and more focused on themselves than the region and a very significant percentage of Palestinians are angry, bitter and hateful of Israel which leads to a blind following of a paramilitary group.

We do not know if NATO would back up Turkey, Nor do we know wither certain countries Such as the US, UK would back Israel either. It would signal the end of NATO that is for sure.

NATO will do what they did during the Falklands. They are not obliged to assist if the conflict is outside of Europe or North America North of the tropic of Cancer.

I guarantee that if Turkish warships interfere with the Israeli blockade of Gaza that there will be bloodshed, and the dead won't be just a few terrorists but Turkish military personnel. Once that happens, Turkish civilians will be calling for an all out war; and they'll get it too. It's been a long time since an Arab army stood up against the Israelis, but every time is has happened in the past, the Arabs limped away humiliated. I fear the Turks have forgotten this lesson.

Israel attacked first in that war and it was at a time when the militaries were weak but numerous. Turkey is a WHOLE other level to those nations. Egypt is tense with israel after the skirmish which killed 7 soldiers.

If you want to look at stats..
www.globalfirepower.com...
www.globalfirepower.com...

The air war would be equal, the ground and naval war would be a decisive victory to Turkey.

If this did kick of i can see a few air battles and ship battles then some UN fool will come in and say "You cannot do this Turkey. Israel is our God they have done nothing wrong." like it always does.

As another poster said. Turkey is large and can call upon huge numbers of troops if needed. Do you honestly believe that Turkey would stand alone? The enemies of Israel would high five each other and form another alliance (if it isn't already in the works) Lebanon will attack and reclaim the Golan Heights which does indeed belong to them, Hamas will put all their strength into distracting the IDF and trying to unite the west bank. Egypt might make a push due to it's new ruleship though political instability with the military regime is coming to a breaking point once more. Jordan and Syria might take the opportunity for political points. Iran would be giddy and supply the forces.

Turkey is VERY militaristic one of 3 of its generals and about a dozen colonels were arrested and imprisoned for trying to start a war with Greece and a coup back in 2010. www.telegraph.co.uk...

Problem is if Israel was defeated what would that mean for Europe. Turkey proves it's strength then arabs then look at Europe with the eyes of war. So instead of breeding us out they wage war.

It's a very difficult topic with many ways it can start and end.

Regardless we all lose in the end.

So in your opinion, since you seem to know more about this that I do. That is a compliment by the way. Would NATO back Turkey or would they back Israel. Or stay neutral. If they don't back turkey, wont that force Turkey to leave NATO. If they do back Turkey wont that bring the NATO Alliance into disrepute with all its members, including the US.

Thanks
We can be friendly sometimes

IMO, I really don't know. I would imagine it would be exactly like the Falklands. The US was treaty bound to defend both the UK and Argentina then, but ebcause the UK didn't attack, that excused the US on behalf of Argentina and because it was in the South Atlantic, that excused them for the British.

However, because Maggie was pally with Reagan and also because Argentina was the aggressor, the US covertly back the UK with intelligence and releasing NATO stocks of Sidewinders to arm the Harriers on the way down, as the Task Force didn't have time to equip properly before it sailed.

In this scenario, I would imagine that the US and NATO will publically stay neutral while calling for restraint. Privately, the US at least, would probably back Israel where possible with diplomacy and maybe technical assistance, although this would likely damage the relationship with Turkey severely, so it would be wise if everyone just stayed out of it and just tried to diffuse the situation.

I think you missed the fact that Turk arent Arabs and they have a lot of backup too being a part of Nato.

If anything does happen then I bet the whole of the middle East joins in too. Israel would be destroyed if they go to war as the US cannot back them up.

If Israel will attack, Israel will be the largest pariah of the world community right on par with North Korea and Iran. Turkey was one of the last nations in the middle east that Israel had good relations with. If Israel will make a bloodshed, there will be very few nations that will continue do trade with Israel. And if you look to the news there is now alrady a lot of social/economic unrest in Israel. That will get much worse.
And by the way the help from America has also reached it's limits. The US is bankrupt. Or are the looking for anothing credit downgrade to take the same path as the Soviet Union?

There is a different path for Israel to take: a peaceful path. But that is a path that they don't want to take.

There is no way Turkey could ever attack Israel.

The US has Army in Israel with Patriot Batteries, THAAD missile defense. US Navy in Israel's ports with AEGIS.
US Air Force in Israel with ....directed energy air defenses.

Turkey would be going into a suicide mission. It doesn't possess anything capable of attacking Israel. They are going to get extremely humiliated.

Regime change coming soon....

well I think there is a little more to it than just Turkey saying their going to do something...posturing...

But folks there is an issue here that might not be considered.....Pressure.....with Turkey's want to enter into the EU ....and the EU wanting turkey to be within their borders as a sign to the Arab nations....I think that the EU(Of Course) will be warning Turkey not to take this Action.

The State Of Rothchilds(SOR) is backed by the EU also.....and By Britain...which is a strange relationships in itself since Britain is not joining the EU....but hey why would they want to loose the ole British pound.

I myself no longer call it Israel As the Rothchilds wanted it created it and used the Zionists movement to Ensure it exists.

This news may shed light on the agendas.

UN report: Israel should compensate Turkey

Turkey to sign strategic alliance with Egypt

two articles from Israel:

UN report: Israel should compensate Turkey A long-anticipated United Nations report on Israel's deadly raid on a Gaza-bound ship in 2010 justifies Israel's blockade of the Strip, but accuses the IDF of using "excessive and unreasonable" force to stop the vessel.

The UN's Palmer Report was first published by the New York Times Thursday evening. The full report is available here

The report states that the force used by Israeli Navy commandoes was "excessive and unreasonable"

Turkey to sign strategic alliance with Egypt
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is slated to visit Egypt and Gaza soon to sign strategic cooperation agreements with Cairo, just days after the leaking of the Palmer Report which led to a new low in Israel-Turkey relations.

Egyptian newspaper al-Youm al-Sabe'a quoted Turkish diplomats as saying that Erdogan will arrive in Cairo next week. During the visit he is slated to meet Higher Military Council chief General Hussein Tantawi, Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf and other Egyptian officials.

and a Gaza connection

The Turkish press also reported of contacts between Ankara and Cairo surrounding Erdogan's visit in Gaza which it declared as part of a campaign of threats against Israel. The Gaza visit, which is scheduled to take place on September 12-13, may be postponed, however. The Turkish prime minister is set to reach the Strip via the Rafah crossing, pending Egyptian approval.

The whole thing could be a "Palestinian State" issue,
but there must be big money involved somewhere.

Hmm, full of random nonsense today, aren't we?

First of all, Turkey isn;t talking about attacking Israel. They are merely escorting the ships. It is Israel's prerogative to enforce the blockade, so if they want it to remain legal (only a blockade that can be maintained is legal) they are the ones who will be forced to attack the Turks.

Secondly, the US won't get involved, so it matters not what real or imaginary weapons you say they have on the ground there.

Thirdly, you say Turkey has nothing that can harm Israel? They have a NATO standard military and a huge one to boot. The Army is the second largest in NATO, after the US.

Their Navy is, manpower wise, larger than the Royal Navy, although they have less ships, but they certainly have bigger and more powerful ships than Israels little corvettes.

Their Air Force is huge too, 3rd behind the USAF and RAF and about the same size as the Israeli Air Force. It is also fairly well balanced in terms of capabilty and aircraft, but the Israeli's have F-15's which the Turks don't.

In short, your overconfidence is misplaced.

The UK joined the EU back in 1973...

I think you mean the EURO, which has only been adopted by 17 of the 27 states in the EU.

Armageddon is around the corner. Iran just turned on their first nuclear reactor generating 60kW. All the Middle East is in disarray and now this. How does one diffuse fate when all of humanity is not just marching towards it but, marching double time towards it?

Well that should boil about 20 kettles

I think that is a mistake, possibly Megawatts instead of Kilowatts.

E2a Looks like output will be 1000 MW
