If I ever had the chance to meet the President, my respose to him as I shook his hand would be...

See ya, wouldn't want to be ya. See ya in the history books fella.

A one term massive fail in my opinion.

During the racing season the drivers are extremely busy between driving and doing "scheduled" events for their sponsors, who pump hundreds of thousands of dollars into their racing teams.

So what would you do, go to a meet and greet at the white house or keep your sponsors happy ?

Maybe they turned down the POTUS because they are patriotic.

Then why don't they grow a pair and say that is the reason instead of hiding behind a "scheduling conflict"???

Is it now patriotic to hide your motives behind a weak excuse...that sounds very cowardly to me...not patriotic.

Either way...I don't think Obama really cares.

I find it funny that if George W Bush were the president inviting them to the White House, they would have gladly came over. Are they too stupid to realize that Obama and Bush are the exact same person or just racists?

You know, if this were certain other countries those drivers would have been collected up and taken to be shot for disrespect. I agree, these guys are not obligated in any way shape or form to accept the invitation, president or not.

Goes to show that the TPTB job is still not finished, but still working on it. Better luck next year maybe.

Maybe they turned down the POTUS because they are patriotic.

NASCAR is the sport of the "everyman".... the average everyday blue collar worker....and these people are very unhappy with Mr. Obama.... very unhappy.

There are many good reasons for their decision, including simple patriotism.
Why should they accept anvitation to add luster to the man who vows to tax them into oblivion, increase the energy costs of their teams and fans, devalue the dollars they and their fans earn and spend, and portrays dissenters as "terrorists" and "obstructionist?"

Obama set the stage for vigorous opposition when he pushed his "stimulus" down our throats, explaining that he could becuase "I won."
Is it any wonder that dissent has "trickled down" to ordinary citizens and their role models and idols? How long did his narcissism make him think he could dismiss public sentiment with impunity?

His chickens are coming home to roost; just as his anti-middle class, anti-America, anti-white spiritual leader Jeremiah Wright, predicted for the rest of the country!

...meanwhile Putin went on a motorcycle cruise driving a HARLEY.

I haven't liked NASCAR since they quit racing real production cars. Think it was about the same year Dodge was banned from racing because their production car was too fast.

I haven't paid attention to NASCAR since. they are a waste of resources and human energy. Atleast they are running their cars on moonshine again (alcohol).

Isn't that precisely what Obama has done from his first broken promise ("I will agree to accept only public campaign financing if John McCain and I are the nominees.") to his present litany of "weak excuses?"

Funny how your libel only applies to Obama's non-believers.

And, how do you know their true reason is not scheduling? Did you just presume they made it up?

Perhaps, as patriots, their scheduling priorities do not rank an Obama photo-op among the most important?

I've just heard on the radio last week, that NASCAR has a big federal government tax-break. Time to remove their tax-break.

What gets me.... Is NASCAR's pre-race Christian prayer ceremony's. What happened to the separation of chuch & state? What with National Guard sponsors, honor guard ceremony's and Air Force flyovers.

Mainly it's because the U.S. armed services, depend on these bible belt Christans to join up.

Ever see a top NASCAR driver who is black? The answer is no, because these Southern mentality NASCAR drivers will probably never team up with a black man during a race.

I'm not saying that the NASCAR driver's that are going to be no-shows at president Obamas meeting are racist; but what with the waning fan support, shows that NASCAR needs to shift to a different path.
