I am not blaming the black community for anything. What you see on TV and hear on the radio is, mostly, the product of a white-controlled interest. I did not mention violent movies because that is not the subject of this thread. I do agree with you that it's just an onslaught of promotion of nothing but pure sin coming from all fronts, music and movies and other types of media combined (granted that is what you are implying).

I respect your religious perspective, but allow me to give you some advice.
Never detract from the good others do based on your perspective.

but skate, frozesparks star to post ratio is better than yours wich means more people agree with him, hence he is right and you are wrong.

Well I don't really try to keep my posts down and try to make every post worth a star so yeah...shows i'm not a TRY-HARD for stars.

And plus I like to post in the Introductions forum a lot to welcome new people, and you don't get stars in that forum.

So really, you're wrong about your assumption

Right.. with that mentality Trojans led the trophy horse in with Greeks inside and got slaughtered at night. I don't detract from the good that others do if I can sense that it truly is good.

And I respect your respect of my "religious perspective," though I really have none.

Yes, lets keep people from expressing their views. We all need to be happy all the time! Everything is what it seems and famous people would never use a tragedy for self promotion.

I don't actually thing the fella is using this for self promotion, but I certainly understand why others would and come here to hear others opinions.

your not worth the time but im glad your enjoying the others comments!

BRAP!

50 just gained a # load of points.
We don't know him personally, but from the stories that he shared with us. This seems like a logical step.
I say hooray.

someone above mentioned something interesting, that do you think violent movies have any impact on people. its an argument as old as film making i guess, does it make people want to go out and kill. i mean, i watch dirty harry or something, and i dont want to go around shooting people, its just entertainment. same thing with music, for most people.

however i think theres a small and vocal subset of the population that are so sad and soulless that they will simply adopt any persona they are exposed to.

those are the suburban caucasians wearing doo-rags, young men wearing girls pants and eye shadow, and these two:
whatever that is, rock and roll dude.

anyway the point is that there are impressionable people out there, that just ruin it for everyone. and heres a guy who is trying as misguided as he may be to do something positive, so good on him. dont hold him responsible for the actions of his stupid fans, because if they didnt identify themselves with the gangsta lifestyle they would have latched onto something equally stupid and self destructive.

its just their nature.

That's ignorant to say. You don't know 50 cent or his intentions... Why have such a pessimistic attitude towards someone you never met? He didn't have to do anything. And many people like 50 cent...so... to call him crappy is all an opinion.

Who said 50 cent ran to the press with this news? Sometimes the press runs to you. He had to announce it to let the victims knew it was occurring. Then the press ran the story... For all you know that is how it went. Regardless you have to promote an event if you want people to show up.

The USA media has long stopped talking about the Norway shooter. Most of the USA population probably forgot it ever happened. I doubt this will even get much coverage from the media.

Why would someone have to tour the middle east to be a humanitarian? Anything you do to help fellow humans is humanitarian. Helping starving Americans is the same as helping starving Africans. People are people, none greater or more important than the other.

Immortal Technique is wack.. all he does is spew anti-american, anti-government, non empowering- debby downer rap. His live shows are almost cult like and weird. A bunch of 16 year olds screaming for anarchism and can't even fully grasp the concept of what that means.

ATS makes me sick sometimes. Most of you are so negative and pessimistic about the world. Not everything is evil. What is wrong with you people?

Probably a publicity stunt to gain "respect" in the media and ultimately make money off of these victims.

And honestly, if I would have survived the horrors of that day, last thing I would want for few year would be to go to a crappy rap performance.

How many other high profile people with money have offered to do something?

Whether it be for the publicity or not, it's good to see someone with money doing something.

Its always negative with most people, i cant stand the man as an artist, but holy moly its awsome that he takes is time to do a special gig, who cares if he sells more albums, its the gesture that counts.

We should, of course we don’t have to; always accept the good intentions of people. . . Since we don’t really know what is inside a person.

Ask yourself this: if 50 was an opera singer and not a gangsta rapper would you then question his motives, if so then you are marginalizing him for his entertainment motif.

Nah.. actually 50 cent is a really intelligent guy. Very witty and he is already super rich. I'm not a fan of his (or most) rap at all either.. just.. facts are facts.

Flagged and starred cos you've had a lot of flack in this thread.

I love hiphop and hate 50 cent's music. The point is, whatever his reasons, good will come out of it. There wasn't a big queue of other stars doing this was there?! For that reason alone, he's proving to be different from others.

I can't imagine there's a huge hiphop scene in Norway or a huge marketing advantage either. He'll be getting paid in goodwill what's up with that?

Not everyone in the music industry is greedy and out for themselves. Did you ever think that he really does want to help people. I always liked 50 Cent, he always seemed very nice and friendly. As Skate said, if this were Kayne, it would be ALL about him!

Go 50!

I have seen 50 in interviews and he is an inteligent person. Though how can be so smart when everything he has offered to the world so far has been decadent noise. To quote a scripture because it seems fitting here: "For every tree is known by his own fruit." 50 is known for his "fruits" of "party like it's yo birthday."

It is not impossible that he is doing this charity out of sincere desire to help. Though, again, my opinion is that he is not.

Actually most of his money has been made from investing. Just because some a single of his is all you have looked to see it doesn't mean that's all there is. Iceberg you know. Also.. the reason I defend him is because I have seen some of the things he has done since becoming wealthy I think he's legit. He doesn't make his real money from shows anymore (also he has a sense of humor and does some of the things a prankster would dream of doing with money).

Oh and remember 50 cent has also been a victim he was shot 9 times at close range.. and was very lucky.
