ocation: Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant Date: March 11, 2011 (Friday) - 01 January 1970 (Thu) Latest value: D / W: 33.8 Sv / h , S / C: 0.69 Sv / h
Well, I spent three weeks following that Fukushima story doggedly... then in the end I found out three things...
1) Except for a handful of people and those that live in the area... NO ONE CARES...
2) We are still here... 1000's of nuke tests (especially near my home town) medical radiation, space radiation, CME's, cell tower radiation, microwave radiation... etc etc.. and we are STILL HERE.. and world population is increasing exponentially
3) Radiation is good for you
ONGOING DANGER 5: ONE-DIMENSIONAL THINKING - It's not just cesium that's your problem Japan. Where are the results of sampling air, rice, soil, etc... for strontium-89 and 90 and plutonium? Japan is living in a self-styled ONE-dimensional world OBSESSED with radiocesium but where the information on radiostrontiums and plutonium is kept out of reality. How can the Japanese people know if they are safe ANYWHERE if no one knows the levels of radiostrontiums and plutonium? What if half of Honshu is contaminated with these lethal substances beyond the 'legal limit' but no one yet knows it? What if areas thought to be safe are really unsafe because of dangerous levels of radionuclides in soils that haven't yet been tested? Consider that the Rongelapese lived on their Pacific atoll for 26 years after it was doused in extreme fallout from a nearby U.S. hydrogen bomb detonation in 1954. When the islanders finally believed that their community's escalating health problems were related to lingering radioactivity and self-evacuated in 1983, it was against the advice of the U.S. Government.
n March, fuel rods started meltdown in the reactor. They became hot as 4000℃, which is hot enough to make most of the radioactive material evaporated. Especially plutonium and strontium were evaporated, spread around as gas. [...]
IPhone: Yes, who would have thought, there is an iPhone application (but also for its Android competitor) on the National Ignition Facility (main system simulation program of U.S. nuclear tests), since November 2010. So for "addicted" applications, for those who wish to be informed of the latest advances in testing and nuclear weapons is for you!
