To be honest I hate the obsession with labelling and pigeon holing things and people but you appear to give me no alternative.
In that one post you display all the generalised characteristics of 'the southerner' I mentioned in my post.
What annoys me most is that all of us English are pre-judged on the arrogant, stereotypical 'southerner' you apparently represent.

As long as the revolution is not a communist one, I would support major changes to our nation. Starred and flagged, good post OP.edit on 30-8-2011 by Swanfilters because: (no reason given)
We NEVER had real true communism anywhere in the world. That's what most people don't seem to understand, just like theyle don't know the difference between anarchy and anomie.

Did anyone every read the 'prophetic' story by John Christopher 'The Guardians'?
It very much describes England as it is about to become.

Of course, you can keep spinning that lie to you're blue (or red) in the face, but the fact is, people know what communism is about, they see the poor conditions the Chinese, North Koreans, and Venezuelans live under daily. It's no good saying that it had any benefits, just look at Eastern Europe and the former Warsaw Bloc nations; it has taken them 20 years or more to get to even the most basic of living conditions that we in the free west benefit from daily. Russia is still a decade or more behind Western Europe, and isn't entirely democratic yet.

It is obvious that you know nothing about political systems or the countries you have just mentioned. Neither China and Russia nor North Korea or Venezuela have / had pure communism.
Venezuela is a presidential democracy and yes its socialistic, but it has a leader that is not war mongering or enslaving his own people in debt. There is a reason why the West hates him. Like in other countries that reject being a puppet of the west and the Rothschild banking syndicate, the CIA is supporting small rebel groups there and is trying to overthrow the democratic elected government. It failed in 2002 and it will fail again.
By the way I was celebrating when he announced that he wants his gold back. I hope more countries follow.
VIVA GADDAFI ! VIVA CHAVEZ !

We certainly need radical reform.
What amazes me is that despite the large increase in utility bills and food and clothing costs inflation remains at 4.4%.
Those that have been lucky enough to get wage increases are invariably index linked.
Those fortunate to have jobs are working harder and longer for less.
This country is going backwards.
Cameron is determined to take us back to Victorianesque times with all the social injustices and inequalities that went with it.
It is time to abolish the unrepresentative and corrupt party politcal system and adopt a system that puts the cares and concerns of the people of this country first and gives power to the elctorate.

If it wasn't for your northern inferiority complex, your constant moaning and lack of any understanding of what life down south is actually like, I wouldn't have to point you out as the jealous northerner you are.
The most productive thing to come out of the north was Fred Dibnah, not only was he ancient and now dead, he was much better looking than any northern bird I have seen.edit on 31-8-2011 by Swanfilters because: (no reason given)

Not that it's the topic at hand but I'm as English as they come but if we are talking gross generalisations and preferences then give me a Jock any day over some namby pamby, self-centred, opinionated, loud mouthed southerner whom I have very little in common with and even less respect for.
I voted for The Northern Assembly when we had the chance.
If we had the vote now things would be a lot different.
I would love to see a seperate Northern England State as part of the British Union.

The north was good at one point, now it isn't. You can always look elsewhere in the country for a job, but like most northerners, you'll most likely sit up there in the 3rd world moaning about how it's all gone tits up and being jealous of the South. Choice is yours.

Fred was a dear family friend...He wasn't ancient he was 66 when he died..
I take it you never saw his halfhisage6foottallblondewife before you made that idiotic statement.
I should send his dog on you...It doesn't like weasels & ferrets.
I should have guessed you all knew eachother. All related too no doubt.
