How to Star or Flag a Post

Thanks more than I can say! I've been a member for quite a long time and have felt like a frakkin' imbecile for being unable to suss out the blank space instead of a blue box and I need to be able to flag! I have tried checking that black box several hundred times. Well, I guess I can't lurk about the sites any longer. Gonna have to vomit up words and I've never posted on any forum of any type ever - but this is ATS and when I found it, well, it was the best thing imaginable- my holy grail which covers everything I have thought about all of my life. Sorry, I'm carried away now that I began writing. 20 posts comin' up soon.

I am brand new to posting and you are my kindred spirit from Hades! I know this was a very old thread, but am hoping you can respond in some fashion.Just wondering if the u2u offer goes for any long time members who are completely new to the posting and similar activities. I would like to thank you for the information on this thread. As a new person to the ATS forum I find it very pleasing that there are threads like this that exist as I was affraid that I may have to post a thread asking a stupid question

Ever since the recent changes on ATS I have been unable to flag or star.
The new layout...for me anyway...does not display the stars or the flag box.

Anyone know why this is?

No, but that sounds like a serious enough glitch to message an admin to ask for the coding to be looked at.

Thanks as well for this most-helpful thread I've been reading ATS regularly for over a year now, and finally created an account because there are quite a few threads/posts which in my opinion deserve more attention (star/flags). I've been confused for a week or 2 about why I couldn't flag a thread until I found this thread. For some reason I always thought it only required 5 posts in order to be able to star/flag, not sure why

I can't seem to flag, I mouse over the flag and it highlights it, but my cursor changes to a text selection cursor rather than a pointer, so I can't actually click on it. Whats up with that?
