How to Star or Flag a Post

Can't flag using an iPad. I guess it's flash or something the almighty apple gods do not like.

I am new to ATS, and looking for the ways to use stars, flags and all the other markers.

I'm a little confused too. On some of the threads I have posted on I have received stars (I actually had two at one stage - I'm relatively new) but when I post on other threads I find that I am showing only one star and on a post I made today I have no stars at all.
?

Im relieved all this time i thought flags were bad ( laugh out loud )
Well ill be sure to flag and star posts i think are worth reading too.

I was able to figure out how to star other peoples threads but didn't know how to flag.

Now I know I need to post more replies in order to gain the ability to flag

Thank you - as a newbie I need all the help I can get -
When I saw I'd been flagged twice, I imagined I was 'in trouble' for something - someone had complained etc - Which is how/why I ended up here, on your post, trying to find out what 'flag' meant - lol

One question, how do we know which of our posts have been flagged and starred?
For 'stars' I guess we could just go back through all our replies, to look for the lovely blue star. I was excited when I saw my first blue star!!
But 'flagging' has me flummoxed - I realise, as a newbie, and having not posted 20 times yet, that I am unable to flag a post - I wouldn't have known how to - nor wanted to even if I did know how, because I thought it was a 'report/complain' thingy -

"Flags" actually attach to threads, not to individual posts in reply to threads.
So if your thread is flagged, the number of flags show up where the thread is listed, eg on the "My threads" list, or when the thread can be seen on the forum page.

Guess what it all comes down to is; look around, check out the 'help' posts, and the links left at our original 'introduction' posts - read what other people are asking about -

Just wanted to say thanks to the OP for creating this thread. I had trouble figuring out how to Flag or Star a post so I used the "search" button and found this forum. Didn't know I needed to make 20 posts before I could do any of these things.

For some reason, my display is a black rectangle for flagging. I do not have a blue one that says "Flag". Any ideas?

where can you tell how many times you've replied to posts?

I have this problem too

I don't know if it's because I'm on an iPad, but I can't flag anything. I've tried lots of times, but no luck.
