I must admit that I'm a bit confused.

You found the manuals on the wiki - becasue someone following the site, as we are (NOT open) posted them there - you didn't find them yourself? The manuals were originally found by entering the correct code into the safe (a bit like entering a password).

I'm just trying to understand your point of view - I understand what you believe re: passwords, but the safe page is no different...

-no, just my way of looking at it. I do have some experience/education to back it up though.

Forgive me for being dense, khnumkhufu, but are you saying you have some experience/education to back up your telling me to look through the copy/paste posts on the thread? If that is so, then I am very confused and cannot begin to understand why you would say that.

If you do not want to explain, then that is your choice and your right

Peace

Make no mistake : I am not.

I think I've mentioned this way before in some post(s): it's all natural to me. I'm like yoghurts.

This is hard for some to understand. Manuals are not always necessary. Sometimes the "knowledge" is just...there. At the risk of sounding like a broken record...Open's "message" is not new.

Care for more music? Another favorite band of mine...

You're not sounding like a broken record at all, T. If you do, I'll let you know. lol
And you're also right… nothing new under the sun.

That's fine, I understand your ethical point of view. :-)

For myself, I do not believe I am a hacker - I wouldn't for instance try to log in here as someone else by trying their password, as that wouldn't be ethical.

For me it seemed perfectly natural that open wanted me to read the message within the post (and by putting a password on it is in keeping with the way open does things on his web site - he doesn't always just deliver information straight out), and it seemed perfectly natural to me that the password would be 'open'.

And I'm glad you do not think I am evil (as I'm not) :-)

no lullaby tonight but a dream from last night :

Location: a skyscraper
I am invited to a special announcement to make. (I also hold lectures in my real job)
I was in a dressing room with my assistant, she had red hair like my wife. We had some probs with the script and some tech,(it is always like that in real life)
Outside in the hallway was a loud tumult of journalists who knocked on the door and shouted I should start.
the lecture hall:
we entered the lecture hall, but all politicians, businessmen and journalists have disappeared.
On one side of the room, all windows were opened. We looked out and saw all of them fly like a flock of birds, they all had wings, but they kept all their Laptopbag with them. (This was like magritte paintings).
the next location:
We stood on the meadow in front of our (real) house and saw the city in the clouds, all around us beautiful paradise ...
The only worry we had: the city from the up there would throw their garbage down ...

I would like to think that Open is intelligent enough to choose a password that is not so blatantly obvious, yes? I can think of a scenario or two that would be reason to PW protect it, but neither involve actually protecting it from unauthorized access.

I have bad karma, so I have to tread very carefully.

edit on 1-10-2011 by khnumkhufu because: Nahh, I think I sorted that one out. Still, you can never be too sure.
