... The reason you are wrong in the case of Ron Paul is that he has a track record as a Congressman ... his speeches going back to the 1980's

How about this.. you vote for who you want to. And I will vote for who I want to.
Its funny to me how many anti-Paul posts I see on ATS. It's becoming an almost daily occurrence. Yet where are all of the anti-Perry posts? Where are the anti-Bachmann posts????
It seems to me that the people who don't agree with Ron Paul, or who are against him are just viciously attempting to sway others opinion of the man. "He's gonna do this, and he voted against that". We've been through this scenario so many times. And every time it is always cleared up. You know why? Because the man has been rock steady in his policies and viewpoints for over 30 years. I like what he says and I like what he stands for. Do I agree with every single one of his ideas? Of course not.
That being said, he is the better choice (for me) over every single other person running. Let's face it. The country is looking to put a Republican into office. Anyone who would vote for Obama again needs their head examined. So its going to come down to the best Republican candidate. And right now that field is filled with a dim-witted Religious nut case, a porn obsessed Governor, and a bunch of other people who have a snowballs chance in hell of running. And then you have Dr. Paul.
So for all of you out there, who seem to loath Ron Paul. Those of you who absolutely hate him, are against everything he stands for, or simply just don't like him. Please... tell me, out of the current candidates, who would you choose over Ron Paul? Who do you feel is better qualified? Who has better views? Because I've examined pretty much all of the people running.... and I just see more of the same... or worse.. So please, enlighten me.

MODS. Please move this to the 'rants' forum.

S & F, OP.
I am sitting here wondering how our fellow Americans have become so very lazy.
No One Man Is Going To Change Anything, people.
You have to get involved in Your Democracy if you want it to represent your hopes and wishes.
Stop thinking you can turn to some guy and give him all your trust and He will fix everything all better for you.
What are you, 3?
You will not be satisfied with his actions, even if he DID win the Presidency.
You know why?
Because No One Man Can Change Anything.
Not in Washington, DC, and not on that scale.
Voting for a candidate is great, but you know what's better?
Running yourself, showing up and writing letters.
Editorials, town halls, visiting your Congressman's office.
Democracy is not served, it is hunted.
Get out there, and stop waiting for Mr. Perfect.
And for heaven's sake, worship Ron Paul in Secret.

You can tell which politicians are fake by the way they speak and what they vote for when the time comes. Ron Paul has stood y what he said, and therefore, means he is more of a real candidate than Obama really was. WIll he take bribes? Perhaps, but if he balances the budget and give the people their rights back he would be a better president than many past presidents.
But let me ask. What have you got to lose by voting Ron Paul in the office? Taking away liberties? This is already being happening. Bankruptcy? Already happening. Bring home the troops? Not happening but Ron Paul said he would make it happen, I know Obama said that too.

The problem with your post is that I fear nothing. People like you make ME sick.
Assumptive, closed-minded, and lacking perception to other peoples opinions.
Real change within a broken system run by money is impossible. Go throw your money into a campaign for a man that doesn't know your name.
I've given up on nothing, because there is nothing even worth giving up on. Your world is what you make of it, and if you decide to make your world based off of their design, then it isn't really about you anymore.

Nothing is impossible, people are just too scared to do what is necessary for change. Have you actively done anything to try and change the system? Or do you just rant on about how all politics are evil and try to make yourself out to be smarter than the people that are actively trying to do something to change the system we live in.
Doing something you think is pointless is still more effective than doing nothing at all, which clearly seems like the case with you.

I have read your post twice and each time my reaction was that you are certainly not the example of any norm; that the fact that you have a computer and internet access is no proof you don't belong to that segment of our population no one wants. Yes, I concede you are probably a human being and from all indications you can read, write and express yourself clearly but I have zero doubt you are dysfunctional and living off your parents, feeding at the public trough or simply not normal. Add to this your lies and disinformation about Ron Paul and I expect that you will be amongst those that end up in a FEMA Camp if the rest of us trying to save our country by turning back the Globalist Tide fail. Sure, it is possible you will shut up and survive, the bugs always survive and I am sure you will change your tunes to make you blend in but your lack of character will do you in in the end. And Yes, ATS has more than its fair share of unwanteds but you pointing the finger at them does not detract from what and who you are, as you have so clearly declared.
I would have simply responded with a one line response " B S " but Bill would have penalized me for simply saying you're a deluded misfit.

I never said that change is impossible, but as long as people continue to accept the lies that are presented and the people in power continue to be in power, they will not allow change. As long as the system is structured the way it is, change is not going to happen. The reason I continue to state that one man can't make a difference is because as long as a group of people elects a "leader," the leader is one man. Collectively, as opposed to accepting what we are given, maybe the pawns should quit the game.
