I can tell you what it is caused by, It is caused by manipulation of the video.

If you are truly saying that you recorded this then you are also admitting that you modified the video.

I can promise you it is modified, whether it be in adobe after effects or not.

I can promise you alot of things. That does not make them true now does it?

Care to provide any evidence backing your claim?

Did you even see the other video filmed by someone else showing the same kind of phenomenon?

BTW. The OP is not the one who filmed this.

How is he saying he modified the video? It isn't anywhere in his post.
Funny thing though, my first thought was it looked like the smudge stick on adobe - but honestly, it's not. Freeze the frames and blow them up. Smudging has very very clear properties when used on clouds and sky... promise, I've done it with plenty of my personal photography when touching up the background.

I could see that a storm cloud was building, but the light and visual show was intriguing me. So I grabbed my iPhone and recorded this
Let me know what you think caused this, and what this type of thing is called! Thanks...

The solar flare activity may have been a cause.
You may be seeing hints of the borealis.

It just hit us pretty hard this week.

The more I watch, the more I come to the conclusion that this "beam" or whatever it is moves in a mechanical way. To me it seems like I can see some sort of aperture movement i.e. a focusing and re-focusing type movement. It also shifts to the left and right in a seemingly perfect linear manor.

It's probably just my imagination, but I can't help but to picture some guy on the ground with a parabolic mirror and a CNC controller moving the "beam" around at his leisure.

....and no, I don't think it's a weapon, nor do I think it has anything to do with a stringed instrument played by angels
. But it does seem man made to me.

I don't see what is supposed to be weird in this video at all. I watch clouds all the time, they change shape, morph, and are different heights. Sun light reflects off them. This is normal.

looks like someone is huffing (exhaling) hot breathe onto a piece of glass between the sky and the camera

or

looks like when you take compressed air and shoot it onto glass, watch how the clouds appear and then quickly disappear, just like exhaling hot air onto a cold window ...or cold air onto hot window

Could it be the clouds are so thick and high there is lightning above the clouds? I remember flying on a plane and at times when it stormed seeing lightning actually above the clouds...? Have no idea.....still speculating never the less.
my son the genius?(16yrs)ha ha
said the second video looked like electrical current passing between the clouds,I have no idea but it didn't look that way to me.As for the first video that was just down right weird,it looked like a beam of light shooting across the clouds.`I don't understand whats happening up there but are some strange things going on in the sky, things in my 50yrs I've never seen before, and I have always been a cloud watcher.

Fake. Notice the cloud in question is below the stationary ones above it and how it's radical transformation doesn't effect anything around it. You would thing the force that might cause something like would also have some impact on the surrounding environment.

There are no stationary clouds. Load the entire video, let it buffer all the way, now move the slider back and forth and you will see all the clouds are moving.

So are you saying it's cgi?

Who says there is any "force" behind this phenomenon?

I think this is just reflected sunlight. From what? dunno. From where? dunno. But look at the other video posted in this thread. It's filmed by someone totally diff.

I don't think its fake , but I do think its a phenomenon that we (ATS) haven't been able to identify yet .
I think its an interesting piece of footage .

Rexamus
Does anyone else see the triforce?

Do you mind enlightening us , triforce?

Looks like the Earth's version of magnetic ropes snapping just like what happens with the Sun. I believe this to be a natural phenomena. The real question would be why so much magnetic activity right now?

The first vid is faked. Notice the entire cloud background doe not move at all? Not a bit. Now go try to video clouds for over a minute without them moving in one direction at all. And, you will notice the little moves of the iphone cause the entire cloud background to jerk back and forth. The trees appear to be blowing in the wind, but no clouds. I think this guy filmed the sky, and then used a stationary background of clouds which he then manipulated.

I think there is a small chance it is maybe cloaking tech having trouble as i have read stuff about water vapour plasma type stuff being used which might give this effect but i have no proof of that just theory. it is possible it is cgi but i dont think it is natural especially the first video because the cloud moves way to fast and has no effect on other clouds around. just my 2p worth.

Pretty interesting if these vid's havn't been enhanced in some way.

My first reaction led me to believe it was a drop of water on the lens bending the focus but, after watching it a few more times and looking at the other vid I don't think thats the case.

If you think it couldn't be more stranger ... You see this video.. What.? Some said CME on the tube forum could that be the case?

I just did that myself, and the sun appears over more at some points, and whisps of cloud come and go.

Given that the other video of this shows something almost exactly the same, this is very interesting..

im not saying this is whats in the video, im just throwing it out there..

there are alot of people in the new age/spiritual world that believe in these sort of sky creatures that resemble clouds, called sylphs..

Sylph (also called sylphid) is a mythological creature in the Western tradition. The term originates in Paracelsus, who describes sylphs as invisible beings of the air, his elementals of air. There is no known substantial mythos associated with them.

en.wikipedia.org...

i know its a little out there, but as i say.. im just throwing it into the mix..
