this country mexico is more dangerous than any other in the world right now.

Nothing but opinion. Would be willing to see some numbers that compare the countries.

thousands of men women and children are being massacred every month! by viscious drug gangs

This isn't the only country this is happening in. Read up on what is happening in Central America.

i think that our army needs to teach them a lesson they will never forget, hunt them down and lock them up.

There will always be people lining up to be the next drugpin as long as there is a high demand for the product.

How long do we hunt? I recall how the US helped to hunt down Pablo Escobar, yet Colombia still remains a major player.

.but theres no oil in mexico so we'll probably do nothing.

Are you serious?

en.wikipedia.org... this data is only good up to 2004 and since then murder in mexico has gone up and up even higher...is mexico a part of latin america? i always thought it was...
www.guardian.co.uk... ...almost 35,000 murders in only 4 years! in... 2010 the population of the usa was about 300,000,000 with about 15,000 murders...in the same year mexicos population is about 100,000,000 with about 15,000 murders as well...so to compare accurately, if mexico was the usa there would have been almost 50,000 murders in 2010

There are over 40 countries with higher per capita murder rates around the world.

List of countries by intentional homicide rate

While Mexico has about three times the murder rate per capita compared to the US, the US has around three times the murder rate of Canada so by your logic Canada should invade the US and teach the US a lesson?

Also Mexico is the second largest supplier of oil to the US after Canada. Maybe that is why they don't go around invading each other. Their actually a pretty tight bunch.

i saw this as well but keep in mind that this data only goes up to 2004,thats 7 years ago and since then the murder rate in mexico has gone up and up "a lot" higher

Can't they just offer the Mexican illegals who are unemployed a work visa and the opportunity to join the army, go through training and join other Mexicans in service to go into Mexico and clean it up. Maybe at the end of 4 years service they can become citizens or something.

This would be a special branch of course equipped with near obsolete technology (ground forces). Still superior to what these drug lords have. May as well use the stuff before they chop it up or whatever. I bet a lot of Mexicans in the army would love to go in and help clean up the place for their relatives.

if these drug gang members that are caught were thrown against a wall and machine gunned to death instead of being put in a cage maybe the violence would subside a litte at least...fire with fire....machine gun them to death in the memory of all those innocent children that are being killed and butchered...

No, we shouldn't. We should just build a wall, dig a trench a lot like the Panama Canal, bring back our people from Afghanistan and Iraq and post them there, and possibly enact a trade embargo. Mexico is a violent country, it's spilling over into ours, and enough is enough.

This would be a very good idea if we weren't still engaged in oil wars far far far away. I say why not help get rid of the low-life murderers/drug-dealers? It'd benefit us all.

... Or the citizens in the US could stop consuming illegal drugs which would collapse the demand for them and the gangs and thugs would have no funding and eventually go away. Can't have a drug dealer with no one to buy the drugs.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, who led the U.S. delegation at a daylong meeting with top Mexican government officials, told a news conference afterward that Washington must do more to limit the movement of illicit weapons into Mexico from the U.S.

"Yes, we accept our share of the responsibility," Clinton said, with Mexican Foreign Secretary Patricia Espinosa at her side. "We know that the demand for drugs drives much of this illicit trade and that guns purchases in the U.S. are used to facilitate violence here in Mexico. The United States must and is doing its part" to counteract those two elements of the drug-related violence.

P.S. - I feel a little dirty for using this source, but you get the point.

That just sounds like a dandy plan.

Get into a nasty situation (Project Gunrunner), blame the people you sold them to, then take an army in and wipe them out....Who cares if there is civilian death and collateral damage?

Like the cop that abuses his taser or his gun, we are just doing our jobs...

Nope!!!
I am a champion for the US Military. But, we are not the world's police.
Let it burn. We have our own issues here to deal with.

Build the dam fence, arm it and let Mexico deal with Mexico.

Yeah they wouldn't be free, but it is not the legality of the drugs that is the problem. It is the fact that people are using them in the first place to get high. If that stopped then there wouldn't be a "war on drugs", or the drug cartels in Mexico.

I was talking to my dad about making a trip from California to south Venezuela to visit the people we spent most of our lives with. Hardest perceived part of the trip? Mexico. Not the rough terrain of the jungles and mountains, the washed out dirt roads and not even the F.A.R.C. rebels of Colombia. I've lived in some bad areas of the world before, but even packing assault rifles and shotguns to make the trip, Mexico is a daunting aspect. Mexico is a war zone and I'm sick and tired of the violence spreading to our country.
