Because he has no hope in hell in getting the rep nomination...none, period...

Which means he is a shoe in for those whom want to back someone, yet want the ability to shake fist at government and demanding the wrong person got in no matter who got in.

People like to yell at "the man"...especially fringe political fans...but its hard to do that when the person you voted for is the one sitting in office...so, back the guy you know won't get in and you have eternal freedom to call the government a socialist/facist/theocratic/marxist/whatever.

thats my take on it anyhow.

He does have some good ideas though, will give em that...but will state one last time for the record...no hope in hell of ever sitting in the oval office...so, might as well just back pedro

I think it may be that most people here do not let the MSM dictate who and what to follow/believe in, so we use our God given gifts of common sense and vision to chose who we like in an election. Ron Paul is an honest politician in a world where that combination of words is almost always an oxymoron. He stands for the very things we all claim to want. Less government, and more closely following the US constitution as it was written, while understanding the complexities of changing times. The media will do everything in it's power to associate Ron Paul with the same ideals that go with witnessing a UFO. You must be a lunatic. At least that's how I see it.

It's because people want to still have hope. I suspect that if someone makes it into office that is not nearly as "radical" as RP, we might actually get civil unrest. I think most people are just plain waiting to kick Obama out. He get's elected a 2nd time? Duck.

In 30 yrs of office, he has shown a consistant record of voting against government expansion, spending, regulation and overall interference with something that wasn't broken to begin with. He's becoming more popular because more people are finding out who he is. Anyone see FAUX News reporting Gingrich last night's debate winner? this is the campaign waged against the man. Outright lie! Before the corrupt go to sleep at night, they look under their beds for Ron Paul.

Funny...I was here in 2008, and it feels the same, as far as Ron Paul Fantasy is concerned.

At the end of the 2008 elections I declared the Ron Paul Fantasy officially over.

Boy was I wrong. Never underestimate the gullibility and stupidity of the Internet community....I guess?

If Ron Paul could actually get his supporters to put down the bong, put down their anti-war signs, move away from their computer screens, and actually register to vote, he might have a slight chance.

Why i support him is because he is very intelligent and eloqent when he speaks. And what is even more striking for me is that the main stream republican ideas and mindset's that I had are starting to be proven wrong. Just like in the debates the other night when DR. Paul was speaking about Iran. I used to have the thinking that iran must be stooped from getting a nuclear weapon But Dr. paul;s answer last night is making me rethink this.

And the 10th Amendment question he raised about health care mandate is something to think about as well.

I am just going to come out and flat out say it. If Ron Paul were to win and start to re-organize the United States of America...Ron Paul would end up suffering the same fate as JFK, UNLESS, he is actually just playing the role all this time, a plant (I don't think that is the case) I personally think they leave him around as a measure of the peoples morale and sentiment.

Lets face it, Ron Paul brings out all the people who HATE the way the system is now as well as the displeased. He literally gets them organized and joining mailing lists and groups them all together which is nice to have access to as far as lists go. They gauge with him.

Anyways that's my take.

I think the Ron Paul supporters are just rabid enough for something like that to start a revolution.

Besides, Paul is in his 70's anyway, and he is a great patriot, so he probably would not mind going down as a martyr, so long as his supporters changed the government for the better in the aftermath.

Okay Okay I have thought about that to. But would that not say to people hey there really are globalist controllers out there who want there own agenda followed and won;t let it be changed by anyone. Not even the American publics choice.

The demon machine is going to have to take off it's mask sooner or later. If you make it expose itself before it is ready people in general would have a better chance of dealing with it. Thus far we have done pretty much everything on their terms.

I am just going to say there is going to be blood spilled either way in all of this.. On one hand we will go into more wars and become more oppressed, and on the other have a revolution or civil war. There is no peaceful way out because people will not just stop working and make the machine grind to a halt.

They made the world a powder keg on purpose. It's insane and I know I am 100% right because the actions of politicians and economists defy logic continually.

Ron Paul would have been the ideal president 100 years ago. If he had been, we would not be in this mess.

That said, I don't think most of his ideas would work in today's world. I think our world needs more socialism before we can make real capitalism work. The moral values paradigm is way out of whack. It needs to be brought back into an equilibrium. Once that is done capitalism could work again. No better way to do that than to put us all togethr in the same boat.

I argue they would and he is right when he says nobody would dare attack the USA right now. Now is the time to restructure, while you still have the capability to ward off "evils". There can be no more waiting, things needed done years ago, but, things can be done now too!

Time is running out though.

And give me stars because my ratio! It's the only reason I type stuff

To me it seemed like Obama was an obvious choice in 2008 and turned out to be a puppet the msm made him look like the best candidate, and now its just like the coins been flipped and its all go ahead for Ron saying all the things everyone wants to hear.
The puppet masters know how to play the masses.

Obama knew early on that RP was going to be a problem for their system, and thats why they profiled everyone that had his bumper sticker or sponsored him a terrorist, because they already were planning on screwing us when the half wit was bought in to office and if RP ever got near the oval office they would lose everything they screwed us with.

They now know that we the people will back this man with violence if need be because WE'RE DONE

I support Ron Paul because he really is the best choice, makes the most sense and is truly someone I can get behind..

Why else would you support a presidential candidate?

This is the first time I've felt like I do not have to choose the lesser evil... Maybe I want to vote for good for a change.

WOW, that was weak, weak, weak. I voted for him, and A) I am registered obviously B) don't smoke pot or do any drugs C) have a job, a family and a mortgage not underwater, D) Never been called guilible or stupid in all my life. E) I am guessing a large amount of people on ATS have a similar list as mine.

Try again. Or do you like your politicians chosen for you by FOX and friends. ANd by the way you are part of the internet community.

Ahh
I think I see the issue
Politicians require backing with votes, not violence. Votes (enough of em) will get him into higher office...violence will get you a prison sentence...which isn't as effective in getting him to the potus seat..

Last election in 2008 Ron Paul was not that popular on ATS, sure he had a few supporters but nothing like now.

I was just wondering why so many ATS members are now supporting him, what changed their minds ?

Obama happened.

Since then the country has been in a downspin.

Looks like he is popular not just on ATS but in Iowa too.

I think watching the highlights from the last debate, that ATS members have enough intelligence to understand war propaganda when they see it. The stuff Rick Santourm was spouting off on, was pure neocon propaganda.

How many times do they really think they can fool the American public before they get wise to this stupidity.
