Nice Thread btw..... very interesting read.... not knowing myself whether there is any truth in the skulls but would like to have one on my living room wall as they look quite nice!!

I'd love to touch one of these skulls just to see what I get from it....

This is where it gets kinda weird for me.

From when I first learned of these skulls, I have always been drawn by them - completely contrary to my feeling about normal skulls, since I do not like skulls.

In a way I can't explain, every time I see one I want to touch it or be near it. Just seeing them in the image makes me feel this way. They give me the feeling as though I am supposed to know something about them, as if I am supposed to remember, but just looking at them gives me this impression.

I have never been close enough to do so, however, but someday I can only wish I can.

I do wonder what would happen if I did get the chance to touch one.

Secondly, and this is going to sound like copy cat bs but I had to post this, I have always felt the need, since learning about the skulls, to touch them as well. I just learned about the skulls and their history last year. To me, they seem like ...hahaha, the most perfect creation I have ever seen in pictures. I would love to touch one or be near one. I can almost imagine what it would feel like to lay my hands over the smooth surface of the Mitchell Hedges skull.

Since learning about the skulls, whenever I see or feel quartz crystal, I am reminded of them.

While down on 4th ave in Tucson, a few weeks ago, I was in this new age store. There was a woman there with these huge Quartz Crystal bowls. She was tapping the sides of the bowls with a rubber mallet drum stick and when she did so, she swirled the stick around the bowl and a low frequency hum could be heard. I remember standing there and holding my hands next to the bowl. I (or anyone for that matter) could feel the vibrations from the bowl when I put my hands around the outside. I imagine that that feeling is what the crystal skulls would emit, if I ever got a chance to touch one.

Ahh, my heart aches when I think how many of them could be destroyed by some people who were afraid of them. Story about spanish missionary... well, religious zealots, u gotta love them.

Regarding how were they made. Think it would be worthy to pursue subject how they were cut not along axis (if they really are), if it's REALLY impossible using all wonders of today's technology, then it would make very credible proof that their origin is either out of this world, or that we know a squat about history and civilizations once habitating earth.

So anyone familiar with the subject?

Oh, btw, to say that they are poorly made is like to say universe is rather simple design.

All crystal skulls are "fakes" carved in 18th or 19th century Europe. Move on...

Well we are mainly talking about the Maya here in reference to the skulls. Nearly all of their books were destroyed by the Spanish, except for the Popul Vuh which does actually speak of the skulls I believe.

You should have a read of the information in regards to Max and Sha Na Ra as those are genuinely ancient. They have not been proven to be anything but ancient and how ancient they really cannot say. The ones proven to be 'modern fakes' are the British Museum Skull, the Smithsonian Skull and the Paris Skull, as far as the more famous ones go.

Therein lies the issue though doesn't it. 'Nearly all their books were destroyed by the Spanish' may be true, what they really contained is not known. I'm fairly sure Popul Vuh mentions a skull all right, a real human one though, and even then it could be the actual head with all that entails (eyes, skin, hair etc.) rather than just the skull.

There are only few true mysterious skulls out there, all the rest are manufactured and there are a lot of those types. The claimed effects of these manufactured ones used for "Santeria" and such are based on the peoples beliefs who use it in their practices and are placebo.

I've always been interested in the skulls since I first became aware of their existence.

The most interesting part of it all is how it is proven that quartz can store information. I believe if there are any "super" powers to the skulls then it would be that brought together, they would reveal thousands of years worth of information.

If 13 skulls were ever found though, I wonder if the people in control of them would allow for them to be studied and analyzed together; by scientists and psychics alike.

I believe there are thousands of hidden technologies humans have overlooked, that our ancient ancestors were well aware of, and I think this may be one of them.

Ah have you really examined the the Mitchell Hedges Skull the one with the 2 part jaw? No one could say this was not well made as an artist i can tell you that. The others i have seen I have to agree.

Just because there are tool marks doesn't mean they aren't old. It is possible they were machine polished for sales purposes afterward. I can't see why the authentication "experts" would overlook this.

You're actually wrong.

They tried to recreate the MH skull and failed miserably, it was actually a bit of a joke.

Anna had already submitted it to tests, and they concluded "the damn thing shouldn't even exist", if I owned I certainly wouldn't put it through further tests just to satisfy the skeptics, screw the skeptics.

If you can provide examples of modern skull that rival the Ancient ones then I'm all ears, otherwise all you have is your skepticism, nothing else. no evidence, just preconceived notions of the skulls lack of authenticity.

they are NOT anatomically correct, something that for certain a higher power would have easily ensured was done (why make an imperfec skull when you can travel the universe and space and time?) people who claim these are perfect representations of a human skull need to read a bit more and very few people actually claim this because it can be so easily proven to be wrong (this applies to all the skulls, not just the known fakes). if it were truly anatomicaly correct i would probably be a believer.

also same thing about not being able to replicate could be said about many ancient artifacts, pyramids, ming dynasty vases etc etc but theyre not mystical or have any special powers. Also Im pretty sure some ancient blacksmiths who spent every waking hour manualy shaping steel possesed skills we dont have today. Samurai swords for example, sure thyey can still make them but nowhere near as good as they used to.

I stand by my original comment that if a mystical being or alien or whatever made these they would have done a much better job and something that no exeptionaly talented earthing could produce. Also all the special properties and such assosiated with these skulls is also apparent in normal quartz. All the phsycic phenomenon stories are just that...stories that many people beleive happened to them and thought...must have been those damn skulls, I mean i had a nightmare so cant be anything else!?!

if they truly posses some unique power then why are the people who own them not flying about or healing people (for real) or such? Even the internal structure of the crystal would be different at a subatomic lvl if information or such was being stored and organized.....its not.

my sceptisism does not come from reading this article alone. ive seen many documentaries and read quite a bit. i learned a few new things here but nothing that makes me beleive these are real.

if i had a REAL crystal skull then the whole world would know about it without a doubt because they would actually posses some kind of real tangible power other than the usual crystal ball hokus pokus.

I would love someone to show me something I cannot dispute. I love finding out new and wonderful mysteries, but there has to be more to it than a lump of quartz shaped like a skull and people claiming to channel phsycic powers through it like some tv magician.

You should actually look into that, the channeled messages are incredible, you have no idea! A major one was done by a psychic who works with the homicide squad in Toronto and has helped solve hundreds of murders. Look into it guy
