Let's STOP THIS KIND OF TALK right now ! Didn't we learn from the 'Nam exercise that the troops are not the problem? Just look at the demographic makeup of the grunts on the ground (male and female this time) holding the weapons, they are lower socio-economic and what do they know?

If you want to shout at somebody, shout at the various elements in Washington. They make the decisions.

Me? even tho I think 'Nam was a mistake then and now, I will not let down the innocent guys and girls wearing our camos in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan or wherever. You don't have to call me Patriot, I'll be satisfied being "sensible".

I can tell you have never served your country just like many others on here to be able to say this stuff! I can tell you first hand that American Soldiers think they are doing good for our country because they are lied to just like every other American! Yes there are some military personnel to blame, most of them being Generals, and higher ranked officers. If you want to blame anyone though, you should blame our government for lying to the Troops and the American People!

We should thank our Troops because if another country attacked us here at home (no matter if the U.S. is at fault) they would be the ones protecting you and I. I like that comfort so....THANK YOU TROOPS!!!

I believe most of our troops just do as they are ordered. The real culprits are the military industrial complex and the elite who created the war that are so mean and non thinking to the citizens of the countries and to our own troops, they crazies ordered the nuclear in the ammo. My big fear is when they turn our troops on us, the troops just follow orders. However I have seen some mean troopers who were complete idiots but not all.

No, I am not. Boeing makes military craft and equipment for the military. I admit that I was a bit hyperbolic when I said their business model was "entirely" dependent on a constant state of war. It is not "entirely" dependent on a constant state of war. But it is certainly dependent on war:

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and it is great to disagree with the current military involvement in regions around the world. I for one am very skeptical about what is going on at the present moment as well. The only people that need to have their feet held to the fire are the politicians because they are the ones allocating the the funding for the wars, and declaring the wars. In my personal opinion, that diatribe in the OP was nonsense. Again, more useless rhetoric and painting those in the military with a broad stroke. They are not all murderers, rapists, and pillagers. Are there bad apples? Of course there are! In any man made institution there will be some bad apples. Still, it is unfair to paint each and everyone in the military as a vile and detestable human being.

They have families, and feel the same way as most feel about the direction the country is going. Unlike us, they are bound by orders and the chain of command. They have to go were ordered by the President and the Congress. Only recently, our President and his brethren were using their pay and benefits as a political bargaining chip in the latest debt negotiation stage play. To put it simply, they go where the politicians tell them to go. The buck stops in the Washington, and everyone on this thread should know that!

If it was not for the steadfast duty and sacrifice of our military we would be speaking Japanese, German, or Russian. So soon we forget the Second World War and the Cold War? The world is not all peaches and cream, and not all black and white. Again, everyone in America is entitled to an opinion and I take no offense in anyone voicing it. Some will, but I can care less. Some feel the same way about my opinions, and more power to them. Opinions are like (insert expletive) and everyone has got them. However, I take a offense at those who wish to believe they are so high and mighty to paint people with a broad stroke. Feel free to carry on folks, and enjoy another liberty so aptly defended by those you wish to ridicule and belittle. Now without further adieu, let the attacks commence!

They blindly believe what was told to them by the people who have a vested interest in maintaining myths and misconceptions.

The US military, not once but twice, committed the single largest mass murders in history by dropping nuclear weapons on civilian populations, including of course, on women and children. Say what you want about how it helped end the war....the bottom line is the US could have exploded these devices over uninhabited territory with the same effect of scaring the heck out of the Japanese. But they followed orders that were lies and murdered almost 300,000 people, without question. As a human being I find it hard to honor such “patriotism.”


I realise this will upset many, but if we are to have any chance of being successful in overcoming the criminals in charge and their criminal systems, there are some paradigmatic shifts which must take place .... even if that involves the debunking of a sacred cow.

It's my impression that In the US the military tends to be revered more so than in Europe. I believe this has been encouraged and inculcated by the MSM, politicians and Hollywood, and is all part of the sham they have presented to the public as real.

My intent in posting this is not to offend, but to defend what is true. Sounds a little like brain washing by finding something wrong with our American country and then going on with it from there.

But I definitely agree, the US government can calculate but not think! You and I both know that the aliens which have been visiting Earth since ancient times won't be denied their acknowledgement as existing entities. I think that the world is headed for disaster with one sole purpose in mind. And that purpose is so alien technology can save us!

i'm a veteran and i actually whole heartedly agree

whenever someone thanked me for my service i was almost dumbfounded

i wasn't brainwashed in boot camp

i have zero 'moto-tats'

i knew the entire time i was only going to be in for my contracted time:

five years active duty, three inactive reserve

when i was overseas, as a boot all i thought about was coming home

as a squad leader, all i cared about was getting my guys home

even as a teen i made up my mind pretty much about the bull# being fed to us

if people only knew how far off the mark they are...about everything

don't support the troops, support freedom itself, the idea

most of the military doesn't share my beliefs, which have taken me my whole 24 years to cultivate and shape

I just have one question . The OP said that we are not protecting Americas freedom and we should not be thanked.

1. Dont thank us. Do you see trops moping around asking for thank. I dont expect special treatement.
2. Right now in this intant. If America were to be invaded . Like a no crap they are on their way invasion. Do you believe that we (the troops you dont want to thank) would stop them.
I think that is what this come down to please answer the question. I would love to hear your answer

I agree with the op in many ways.

But you point is extremely valid.

We (the masses) allow our politicians to use our military for the corporate agenda.

Our tax money pays for the weapons.

We are just as responsible as those that join the military.

They really are just trying to do the right thing (most of them).



as i stated in one of my earlier post, mine and everyone's taxes are stolen from us. most are taking automaticly before we get our paycheck, even if they were'nt we would be jailed for not paying on our own. simpliy put, we have no choice but to pay and only a vote to make the choice as to how they are spent, and voting is a joke in of it's self and a whole nother topic.


We choose to participate.

Out of fear of going to prison? Maybe.

But we still allow it to happen...

I think rather than not thanking them we just need to start with automatic deprograming. Those brainwashed soldiers are told every possible thing that they would want to hear to justify their actions. I just got finished with my speech class and it is made perfectly clear that politicians (congress and the senate included) smile through their teeth. They are taught to speak a certain way with everyone they come in contact with. They know exactly what they are doing and do it because the jarhead military is like the politicians' massive crazy dog on a leash. They also use racism to fuel the hate for wanting to go to war with other nations. As long as there are people out there wanting death, war and dictatorous rule these things won't stop. I believe there are good souls misguided by the world, and the military powers have taken some of those souls, without question. I know until the actual peace keepers turn their weapons on those OBVIOUSLY responsible (World Leaders and Banksters) and recycle the ENTIRE system out, the pain and suffering will continue...
