Thank you for your interest. It was not scary, just that 'wow factor'. The tunnel was about 3-4 feet in diameter. It opened up next to my bed and so many paranormal things happened in that very spot in my bedroom. One night (age 17) I awoke to someone kneeling beside my bed and starring intensely at me. That was scary! My heart stopped and I could not even think. I was so frightened I just told myself to go back to sleep.
Thanks again for your reply

I really love your post. I would like to suggest to you to read the book Animal Speak, it is a native american book about how when animals visit us in dreams and life they bring messages. It is half a work book with meditation and exercises to help you connect to your 'totem animal' and half a dictionary for looking up the symbolism of animals, insects, reptiles, and birds.

Im sorry, really had to laugh when you wrote that you tried to fall asleep with your eyes open, i was also (still am) really afraid of the dark, and i never tried that one before!

So am I. My fiancee thinks I'm freaking strange for it. I leave at least two lights on in my apartment when we go to bed, usually the light above the stove and also a night-light in the bathroom. My bedroom door must always be wide open.

Ahh, i have a dim red light in our bedroom turned on at night, just to keep me calm
Don't think my partner approves enterily tho
But, even if he doesen't understand my fear of the dark, he lets me keep the dim red light on

I havent had any really strange things happening in my youth. but i remember a night when i was trying to sleep at my Uncle/ aunts summer house. i was at the master bedroom seeing a women with not very old dress, walking by the side of the bed. i was 6 or 7

if i would had guessed who it was it might be my grand mother since she died some years before i knew her.

am now 19 (born 1992) and havent had any strange things, other then small sound of wood crack at the ceiling thats only happens in my room.

otherwise i hearing either something walking or rumbling at my summer cabin house. it was owned by my Mother who took suicide at my age of 9.

Sorry to hear about your losses. Thank you for contributing your story to this thread

Have you seen photos of your grandmother to be able to put a face to what you saw in your aunt/uncle's place?

I love talking about subjects like these
partially because it intrigues me, partially because I always have an event to add to the thread.

Anyways, when I was a kid a lot of things were 'evident' to me. Thankfully not so much anymore
so am sleeping peacefully at night but this wasn't always the case.

My fondest memory was the small, smurf sized man, who was very smufy looking, with a pointed hat and beard and all, but was not blue. He would appear by the window ledge every night in the room me and my brother slept in and move things. He would move what looked like soil from one end of the ledge to the other with a handcart. I always used to watch him before I went to sleep at night and used to think he was a part of my imagination.

One night tho, my brother (who was around 3 or 4) saw the old smurf. My brothers a fast sleeper so I don't know why he didn't sleep that night. But he was very quiet for a while, then all of a sudden he said: Sister, I'm scared. Can you see him too??

Ofcourse when he said that I was like: GO back to sleep!

I totally ignored him and acted like it wasn't there but I knew better...

Oh btw, I'm 32 now, and I remember this like it was yesterday

Loving all these guys, mine isn't really as good.

As a kid I had an imaginary friend, I used to get my mam to 'tuck him in' at night and get her to put food on the table for him when we ate etc, she also said I would often say things like 'Bud doesnt like you' or 'Bud doesnt want you here'. (Because I was so young ad my speech wasn't very good they thought I was calling him 'Bud').

One night I came down stairs from being asleep and this massive horned winged demon was on TV which I excitedly screamed 'Look Mam & Dad its Bud!'

(later as my speech got a bit better they realised I was saying Bub (devil name?) and I never was christened/baptised... still aint been)

I do not remember a single bit of this by the way, just been told it from my parents, my Dad's hair's stand on end when he tell's the story..... prior to seeing the TV were I said there's Bub I had never seen no horror pictures etc before)

Do you think you may have saw a fairy?

"Mythological" creatures like that don't just appear in everyone's imaginations, it had to have come from somewhere to be widely spread like that. Like unicorns and leprechauns, they had to exist at some point for people to talk so openly like they do about them. It would only make sense.

I can understand if someone made something up like that and no one else got the reference, then it'd be an act of one's imagination, but the fact that your brother saw it too, and the activities it was doing represented many other's reminitions of fairies says a lot.

Demons have been known to take on many different forms. After telling my fiancee this story, he believes Bub may have been using you as a gateway for access to your parents, which is probably why it freaks them out so much and you don't recall a single memory.

I wouldn't be concerned, he's obviously gone now, but that's a very interesting story. I wonder if your parents have any "paranormal" stories of their own, not just from childhood?

Thanks for sharing!

Explainable (or paranormal) or not here is my childhood story that remains fresh in my mind as it was 25 years ago.

I was 11 years old and had a younger brother aged 3. I was not the nicest of brothers and had gotten into the habit of scaring my little brother for kicks. Jumping out of a dark bathroom yelling "Boo!" etc. My mother would get very angry at me as my brother would be in tears. After a few times of this i got the standard scare tactic warning from her, "I am going to tell your Father!" This tactic "usually" always worked on me because i feared my Father greatly. Well she never told him and a few weeks went by without me harassing my brother anymore.

I started scaring him again and my mother got mad. This time she told my Dad while i was unaware of the fact. So one summer night i am in my bedroom with the window open for a cool breeze. A hideous growl came from outside my window and scared the heck out of me. It was my Dad exacting revenge on me to teach me a lesson. A few days later he jumped out of a bathroom to scare me just as i had done to my little brother. Again he scared the heck out of me. So for a short while i had learned my lesson.

A few months later i had forgotten all about it and scared my brother once again. Mom was furious and again said "I am going to tell your Father" Oops!! Oh boy, the rest of the day i was worried. Dad came home from work and we had dinner, but oddly there was no mention of the earlier incident to him. So while somewhat at ease i did however remain vigilant "expecting" him to do something to me.

I went to bed that night. To the right side of my bed was my bedroom door on the wall perpendicular to the wall my bed was up against and it was near the corner of the walls. I slept with a night light on all the time. It was a plug in wall socket type and it was on the left side of the door. I also slept with my door slightly open (maybe half way) And this cast a shadow in the corner due to the door being open halfway.

You ever wake up abruptly, fully aware, fully awake and don't know why? Well this happened to me around 2 a.m. I was laying on my back looking at the ceiling wondering why the heck i woke up. So i was like "Oh well, back to bed" and i rolled to my right side facing that shadowed corner. As i readied to close my eyes something caught my eye. There in the corner within the shadow (and it was not a fully dark shadowed corner, just darker than rest of the room) I see this thing, person, whatever it may be standing there in the corner. What it looked like was a person standing there with a white bed sheet draped over them. You know like the typical bed sheet ghost from cartoons and such. There were no holes for eyes or anything.

Well at first glance fright enveloped me instantly but then i paused. My mom told me she was going to tell my father i scared my brother yet again. Thats it!! Its good old dad and his bag of trick trying to teach me a good lesson again. I got calm quickly and just looked at him waiting for his next move. He did nothing. Ok..... Then i smiled at him and said "Nice try Dad... good one" Again he did nothing, said nothing, no movement. Then very slowly he inched toward me, almost floating like, but the sheet was all the way to the floor so you couldn't " tell if there was legs or not. " Ok Dad i get it" as it kept getting closer. It (no longer referring to as "he") came within about a foot of my bed and for some reason i had decided that this was not my dad (i even pinched myself). Fear beyond belief had envelope me and i was in shear terror. I literally screamed bloody murder. I heard a loud thump noise as i was screaming coming from a slight distance. Next thing i knew i saw a hand slide into my room from behind the door (also behind this thing) and flick my main light switch on. As the main light went on and the door swung open this thing just fell to the floor. Like someone dropped the sheet. And my dad was standing there. He had slid his hand inside to turn on light as he swung open the door. It was gone and he was standing there dazed and looking around frantically. He thought someone was in my bedroom attacking me, or killing me as he said. And the thump i heard, was him falling out of bed to investigate because of my screaming (their bedroom was right next to mine). By this time my mother had came into my bedroom as well.I explained what had happened but to them it was all a bad dream. I know what a bad dream is like, even nightmares. I know i was awake and they never believed me. I pinched myself painfully, was fully aware and even heard my dad fall out of bed. And seen his hand turn on my bedroom light.

Regardless of what it was, let me tell you this. I NEVER scared my little brother again in my entire life.
Our family has occasionally talked about this from time to time and they have a laugh. But last time my brother was there when we talked about it. He had something interesting to add. He never liked that house and wouldn't dare go to the bathroom in the middle of the night because he said he saw black masses and shadows moving around the place. I never liked the place either, was a really old house from the 50's and always had a bad vibe to me as well.

Just sharing my story, thanks for this thread

I'm pretty sure I saw a fairy or some such. I was able to see these things until I got fully scared of them and tried to make them go away by thought at nights when I was in bed. Well, they definitely went away. But I still have the ability to 'sense' things even if I can't see them with my eyes. I'm used to it tho, and unless they come bothering me I ignore them all the time. If they do bother me, and purposefully 'attack', which they have done in a few incidents before, I take out the 'heavy artillery' and invoke Gods protection. And by God I mean that which has created everything, not some bloke in the sky.
Always works!

How intriguing this all is!! I posted this on another thread, but it fit's in better here!

I have had quite a few. My first one was when I was two years old. I woke up crying and saw a man with a dog standing in my room. I can vaguely remember what the man looked like....from another time, quite shabby looking and his dog did not look cared for.

OK, I know it doesn't seem much, but two years later when my brother was two, he saw the same man. Then twelve years later, it happened to my sister...when she was two and then my youngest sister, three years later when she was two. It is quite strange as we have all described the same man standing in the same place.

My brother still lives in the house now and has three children of his own; the youngest, my nephew, will be two in January, but my two nieces both woke up crying in the same room and saw a man with a dog...when they were two!!!

I had a very similar incident when I was about four (circa 1978). It occurred during what I could only call lucid sleep paralysis. However, there were three to four individual eyes moving across my closet door. They appeared shortly before I had a "visitor" appear out of the closet that would inch toward my bed, touch my foot under the covers, then slink backward into the closet. This “visitor” did the same repetitive movement three of four times and I could tell from its expression that it enjoyed eliciting the reaction of total dread and fear from me. The absolute worst part of this is when I finally could scream my parents came into the room and as my mother puts it, “scrapped me off the ceiling” and just dismissed it as a bad dream. I know what I saw, I know I was awake and it still give me the heebie jeebies. I have young children now and know never to dismiss anything they see as just a dream.

Back in 1997-8 (i think) my family and I moved to a new house. The first day after we had moved to the new house me and my brother went exploring. I must mention that we where enormously terrified of this house. Especially the cellar which looked like the machineroom on a steam boat was frightning for us. Yet, we where intrigued by the the very same place.
Behind a snot-green curtain in the cellar was placed a large boiler. We were tremendously faschinated by the thing. We had never before seen anything like it. The thing made all sorts of strange noises and from it's rusted metal bolts ran drops of sweat.
Behind the boiler was a small hole in the wall, just about the right size for me and my brother to enter through. We never acctually did enter through the hole as we where to afraid to do so, however we did use a broom to poke around inside it. We thought doing so was very interesting.
The very same night as I had poked around in the hole I had a dream in which I was dooing the very same thing,- only this time two old, wrinkled arms reached out and grabbed me by the foot and proceeded trying to pull me in. However I woke up before that happened, scared to death. You should not make anything of this dream, though, as I always had bad dreams as a kid and still do.
Our last moving truck (in which all our children stuff was) arrived the day after the bad dream and thus I got my mickey mouse flash light. The mickey mouse flashlight was shaped like mickey mouse and if you pulled up his head the flashlight appeard. Armed with this flashlight and a "ghost recorder" (just a regular tape recorder) we felt brave enough to go back to the basement to once again explore the "dimension hole" as we years later decided to call it.
Now we could see inside the hole as clear as day. We imidiatly saw a dusty wooden box in the corner which had not before been caught by our broom. But with the help of the flashlight and a second broom we managed to pull out the crate, using the two brooms sort of like extended arms each one holding one side of the crate.
The box contained the following items (that i can remember):
-Poppy seeds
-Glass canisters with diffrent color types of liquids, none of which had any smell.
-One gigant beetle pinned to a ball of cotton (I'm not joking when I say that this bug was the size of my hand)
And...
...one iphone.
Yes, I'm absolutely SURE it was an iPhone. The iPhone even worked. We did not know much about technology and such, but we managed to start it. I don't remember much about it. I know that we kept it for days but we where never really amazed by it. The thing was sort of beyond our level of understanding. I think some primitive bushman would have reacted the same way if he stumbled upon one. Mostly all we did was look at the nice screen shine and use it as a night light. Acctually, the thing inside the crate that most amazed us was the beetle. Eventually the battery ran out of energy and we smashed it against a rock to examine what was inside it. Years later when a friend of mine showed me his new iPhone I got scared, because I remembered that I had one of those years ago, back in the 1990's. The feeling that overwhelmed me might have been called deja'vu.

I loved your story.

When I first read what you listed was inside the box, I was thinking items for a drug trip, nothing unusual for a previous addict to hide. But the iPhone?

Very strange, do you think it had to do with time travel? You say you feel like you get deja vu when you see one now.

when i was about 6-7 i was walking up the stairs and my stair has a glass window under the railing, so anyways as i was walking up i looked right and thru the glass i saw a pale white figure right on the other side of the glass, so naturally as a 6-7 year old i ran up the stairs and did not look back, im still wondering to this day to what it could have been

Figment of your imagination or light filtering through the glass at a weird angle? Or perhaps you did see something more. Can you give us more detail (if you remember) on what it looked like? Or was it just a blur?

Great post, I enjoyed reading about everyone's experiences and thought I would post a couple of mine. My family and I moved back to Australia when I was 3 years old and moved into an old house in Auburn, NSW. My Mother to this very day says it was haunted. It was an oppressive place, with not much light filtering through for some reason. My 5 year old sister and I shared a bedroom at the front of the house opposite our parents room. The bathroom was situated at the back of the house, you had to travel a very long hall past the lounge room, then the kitchen and out the back to use it. When dad came home from work he would always hang his jacket on the lounge room door handle. One night whilst heading to the bathroom I hesitated at the coat on the door handle. It seemed dark, shaped like a person even. It seemed to fly off the handle at me. I rolled around on the ground tussling with this coat, it felt like it was trying to suffocate me and to get it off I recall tearing it. I ran back to my room and promptly jumped in my sisters bed with her. The next morning the torn coat was on the floor by the door. My sister had an imaginary "friend" called Stephen she would talk to. She said he was a baby. My mother used to hear a baby crying in that house often. She thought it was me until she went into our room and my sister was playing alone. She would tell Mum that she scared Stephen away and I was happily watching TV in the lounge.
I woke on another night to see my doll sneaking back into my room. She was one of those big dolls that would be knee high on an adult. She turned her face directly at me and smirked. At the time as a three year old I thought it was an evil smile and sank lower under the covers. She smirked and went and sat where i left her. Very bizarre happenings in that house.

I can remember watching myself take my first steps between mom and dad, I had quite a few out of body trips when I was very small and I can still remember two of them.
Mom was sitting on the couch and dad was sitting on a seat and I just made it from mom into dads arms, they where about 3 feet from each other and I was still in nappies at about 1 or so years old. The other one I can remember was when I was older and I was walking down the hall while I floated above myself, the thing is I remember watching myself as an older being not as a baby.
