Also, compare how peaceful protesters were treated by the police during the G20 meeting.
They were treated like cattle and the police were very brutal, yet contrast that with their almost indifference towards these rioters.
I understand many of these rioters are actually children, but I don't think it's an excuse not to try and stop them.
Infact I can't see any reason for not using water cannons and tear gas against them.

There is now a news blackout in the UK - BBC, Sky and ITV are not covering the death of the two Asians or the reports of a police officer being shot in Aston. The major news outlets have obviously been ordered by the PM to keep quiet. There is complete mayhem going on right now in England and we're not hearing about most of it
It's my view that the media blackout, in order to prevent copy cat riots, had little or no effect in this respect at all.
It was however successful in leaving millions of innocent people in the dark and in danger of being hurt or killed...
I have covered magistrates courts for many years and I have never seen a judge been so harsh as today. Not one person at Croydon Magistrates today has been given bail.

The riots have set race relations back 30 years, the fighting on this forum is only the tip of it, this is pure gold for Nick Griffin.
He thinks all his birthdays and Christmases have come at once.
Bullcrap
Its done the reverse around my way with whites, asians and blacks out on the streets together protecting our neighbourhoods.
A LOT of bridges were built last night.
Sikhs had their temples open to EVERYONE and they escorted scared people home or made a cuppa for them in the temple.
All sides stood together to protect each others homes.
There were racial tensions in the area but after last night a lot of hearts have been melted.
Makes me very proud to be English and a part of this community
Oh and where might that be?
You sound like someone who thinks your area means the WHOLE of Britain.
I speak as I find - He's been tweeting like an excited child.
Think before you post.

Just seen Tariq Jahan on TV - my god what a noble man - I wish I knew him personally. He is the father of one of the 3 young men killed by a car whilst protecting their property. A True Brit!
We need more sensible elders of the communities involved coming forward to calm the situation, it only takes one person to incite a riot, likewise it only takes one noble person to step forward and incite peace.

Hang in there, not everyone is like that.
This is exactly why I was speaking out against claims of these riots being due to race earlier in this thread. It's so important to stick to the facts here and not let bigots use these terrible scenes to further their agenda.

Race relations have been affected.
Indian Sikh vigilantes will not attack all Turkish, whites,(Polish etc and English) or blacks on sight.
Greek and Turkish vigilantes will not attack non Mediterranean people on sight.
EDF/BNP/football hooligans will attack all non white English on sight. If you are white French, German, American or Polish etc do not speak and you will be OK..
The first day back at work the guys in my office joked was I out burning down Croydon. This is the mindset of the working and middle-class people in this country. They are blind to the fact that the Waltham Abbey fire in Essex was most probably not set by a black arsonist.
They are stretching their expectations if they think all non English white should have no rioters in their populations and that all the white rioters are ethnic sympathizers.
Open your eyes.

Nick Griffin and his cronies really don't figure in this at all - most people can see him and his ilk for what he is - a stupid opportunist racist, this isn't Germany 1935 and he has no power base or following or intelligence for that matter to speak of - I prefer to dismiss him/tand his followers (the twitter folk will soon unfollow him after a few days of his useless diatribe).
