This is in no way funny. There is no excuse for a man being beaten and then held and beaten. Giving excuses for the cops and putting blame on the victim shows apathy.

I can't help but wonder. If the video had shown the man wailing on the female cop with a baton like that, would we still be asking what she did before the video started to warrant such a beating?

Am, and sure s/he would, its called case law and legal precedent. Every situation is unique and has different circumstances.

They look like fools coming onto a website where a great majority of people understand how the system works. ATS already knows our leaders DO NOT speak for us any longer, they speak for mega banks and super corporations. ATS also knows that police follow the orders of our corrupt leaders, therefore making them just as corrupt or even more so if they realize the government has been hijacked and they do nothing about it.

Police SUPPORT gun laws taking away our protection to tyranny, where does it leave us when we have no weapons to protect ourselves, our government is corrupt and cares nothing for the average citizen and they have the only guns and a huge street level army? It leaves us up the poo stream without even a turd paddle.

We might not know what happened before this took place, but seems to me this is a little excessive. I mean, at one point you heard the guy shouting "Okay, okay"... and also towards the end of the beating she's yelling at him to roll over, but that's not exactly possible because the male officer is on top of him.... so the beating continued.... Wow.

I don't know on one hand it seemed, he was yelling "OK OK" but physically still trying to resist.

People will do that nowadays... knowing there's a good chance of a camera being nearby.

Well all i can say is, if all this was just over some stupid "drug" charge or something, then yeah, screw the cops.

But this guy could have been wanted for hurting someone, so i don't know, how can we really judge?

I am going to make an assumption now. I am going to assume you are a contract attorney, ambulance chaser peronal injury attorney or some sort of tax attorney. I am going to assume you identified yourself as an attorney in an attempt to fabricate some sort of insider knowledge with the audience we have here. Nice, assumption. My general area of expertise is corporate and tax law. Still passed criminal law tho. How bout you? Do I post and sound like an attorney tho? Absolutely not! I can't. I'm not allowed, its constituted as legal advice as it comes from a professional. I have to "dumb it down" so to speak. Something I love to do in order to allow the majority of ATS members to understand. You see if I were to approach a forum like ATS in my professional capacity, you or anyone else without at least 2 years of law school would be blindsided. While the posts would certainly look very impressive they would without doubt be uselessly boring, long and unreadable to most members.

When I come to ATS all I need to do is post my feelings in my own words, not stupid legalese that is intentionally hard to understand. When I use the legal system I end up sounding like I'm defending the police because that is how the system has been designed.

The rules are written to obfuscate, plain and simple.

That is why I don't use the BROKEN CORRUPT RULES to attack police, I CAN'T they are designed to protect the police and only allow the most blatant and heinous rule breakers to be punished while protecting the ego fueled baton jockeys with massively broad legal terms.

You could clearly hear her saying 'lie on the ground' and he's fighting to stand up, I dont really see the big deal here. Seen loads of REAL police brutality vids this is not one of them.

This guy was yelling OK OK OK, but clearly resisting arrest.

Think about it folks, when a normal person gets hit with a baton once they comply. Well actually most normal people never even get to the point of getting hit, or resisting arrest.

I don't condone police brutality, but most people don't understand how many meth, crack and druggies that officers have to deal with and act exactly the way this guy was.

I would much rather get into a tussel with someone on a drug trip rather someone on an ego trip!
My point being that drugs take the fight out of you after 5 or 10 min. of doing them.

If you will notice the other cop is already down because of this guy, only the part of him getting his just deserves is filmed. Too bad more cops do not do this, these criminals are always treated too lightly, she should have just pulled her gun, nice of her to only use her baton. Now the tax payers can support him while he is in prison.

If you pause the clip at the beginning, the guy was beating the hell out of a cop. Something tells me that we are not seeing the whole truth. One of the cops is being kicked while laying on the ground.

Now, while playing the video, watch as the guy keeps getting up. Officers usually tell people to lay on the ground. He was resisting arrest.

Pause the clip at time-mark 0:03, and you will see the guy beating one of the cops.

Around the 0:08 time-mark, you can see a tan car with a door open. Left side of screen.

Each time the guy gets off the ground, when told to stay down, the officer reacts to keep him down.

He was resiting arrest for what looks like robbery.

What does not help this thread is the second clip, which the thread creator had included. If I may be so bold in saying, I think this thread was created to make an atmosphere of racial hate. As a result of not looking at the clip closely and the inclusion of the second clip, I have to question the thread author's intentions.

The police your side of the pond are getting worse all the time. I sometimes watch the tv shows where a cameraman follows the police around. The main one I watch (road wars) sometimes shows clips of police chases in America. I was really surprised to see that they are allowed to drive into motorcyclists and knock them off their bike when they are in a pursuit.

The show I mentioned earlier did a US special where two of the officers form the UK show spent a couple of months attached to a gang unit in Chicago to look at the differences.

According to the officers:

-UK police want to work with the communities they police; USA police just want to uphold the law.
-UK police focus too much on providing a customer service; USA police focus too much on being aggressive.
-UK police most commonly use the voice as their tool of trade; USA police most commonly use guns (including automatic firearms) as their tool of trade.

I'm not saying that this is the truth for all police forces in the US and the UK, but it gives you an idea

I added the second video because thats how i (and obviously other people) feel. Why is it ok for you to voice your opinion but not me? This is a DISCUSSION forum!! You act as if i staged this video saying "i'm promoting an atmosphere of hate". If you are so worried about the atmosphere of hate talk to the police not me!!
