A non-story. 3 juveniles on a college campus think they say, what might have been a handgun, covered by clothing.

What a dam panicky society we live in!! If there were no shots fired, then there was no incident.

For the record, Florida amended their law after the last Va Tech shootings, and I can now carry my weapon on University grounds. There will never be any massacres as long as everyone is armed. There might be a random shooting, but the shooter will be dead quickly and the damage will be minimized.

Don't call the police until shots are fired, and when the police show up, the incident will be over, the police can right the report, and everyone can go on back to class.

somehow i am not beleiving this story to me its like the boy who cried wolf.

in my opinion the kids those 3 were just looking for attention or playing a prank on the school.

With the tragedy just a few years old, I'm not surprised by the lock-down. I'd be itchy as well. Better to be safe than sorry.

Then again, I'd be home; locked and cocked. But that's just me.

No casualties, summer-time, professors are still teaching classes, I'd say this is a false alarm, most likely a lockdown because of the shooting in the past but made a national story to scaremonger a bit. The msm won't be ashamed if this turns out to be a over-hyped false alarm, and they also won't be ashamed to blame it on white christian tea partiers if it is true or not.

I hope you are right and this is nothing? We do not need another Virginia Tech Massacre or any massacre for that matter. Lets just hope you are right and it is some college kids phoning in a prank or starving for attention? I know this type of thing is nothing to play around with because law enforcement and emergency services could be deployed elsewhere. However, I think a prank or some attention deprived kids is much better than the latter. We shall find out shortly?

It's funny how people are saying we are winning the war on terrorism. Taking this incident as an example of many, terrorism is winning without action. Since 9/11, people are so fearful of a terrorist act that they induce panic for what appears to be something. The human mind is amazing, but also very dangerous because it can persuade a person in thinking they saw something that triggers the fear inside of them.

The war on terrorism is being won by every terrorist out there and they are not even lifting a finger. Before you criticize my post, take a closer look at it and then think to yourself, are the incidents after 9/11 really acts of terrorism? 9/11 was a terrorist attack, Oklahoma City was a terrorist attack. Gifford, was attempt of murder, not a terrorist act. V-Tech Shooting, a murderous act, not an act of terrorism.

We all need to be watching for acts of terrorism, not incidents that happen on a daily basis in some US neighborhoods and calling them terrorism. We also don't need to fear terrorism, but understand it so we can fight back. The best way to fight terrorism is to be strong and fearless. Otherwise, the terrorists have already won.

There's nothing wrong with bearing arms. What's the big deal?
