Virginia Tech officials are telling students on their website to stay inside, and secure doors because of a report of a person with a gun in the area.

The alert, issued at 9:37 a.m., said the person with a gun had been spotted near Dietrick Hall, a dining area.

Dietrick is a three-story, 93,000-square-foot dining center also houses a convenience store, laundry area and central bake shop, the Richmond Times-Dispatch notes.

Virginia Tech, located in Blacksburg, Va., was the scene of shooting rampage in April 2007 that left 32 people dead and 25 wounded.

Hopefully they can detain this person before we have another re-occurance of the 2007 shootings. It seems like this is a growing trend around the world lately--a sign of the times that the world is begining to become unstable, and this is one of the first warning signs. It is less than 2 weeks since the Norway shootings.

But, if more than a thousand people in Phoenix see a large craft a mile wide hovering over the city for quite awhile...the government doesn't do anything...interesting!

Actually I'll post this in a conspiracy forum so we can have 3 threads on the same topic and really get a good discussion going
Fill yer boots, if you can find a conspiracy in this story, I'm sure the thread will be allowed to continue, so long as it doesn't get trashed by board nazis

It happened before at the same school so it looks like a conspiracy set up by the University to outlaw guns with their main goal being the dismantling of the second amendment because all people on university's are hard core liberals who hate America.

You can make a conspiracy out of anything.

I would have just said "must be something in the water" but y'never know

Anyway, this is starting to stray off topic so I'll bow out....

Give it up junior and just admit that you over extended yourself.

Incidentally, Ron Paul recently introduced the "Citizens Protection Act of 2011" (H.R. 2613), which will repeal the Kohl amendment and thus remove the federally created criminal safety zones.

This is the official notice:

At 9:09 a.m. three juveniles attending a camp at the university reported seeing a white male, 6 feet tall, with light brown hair outside of New Residence Hall East holding what may have been a handgun. They say the weapon was covered by a cloth or covering of some sort. He was walking fast in the direction of the volleyball courts. He was wearing a blue and white striped shirt (stripes were vertical), gray shorts and brown sandals. The subject had no facial hair or glasses.

Officers responded immediately to the area but found no one matching the description. Police have encountered no other witnesses reporting this individual or anything suspicious. Law enforcement officers from VTPD, Blacksburg PD, Christiansburg PD, Virginia State Police, and Montgomery County Sheriff's Office are patrolling the campus, continuing to look for the subject. ...

Campus individuals should remain indoors.

Not to get off topic, but...

It's much faster to post something in the Current Events forum as the Breaking News Forum requires you to have a source link, a correct headline, a snippet of the article and a write up that is a certain length.

So by that same logic I could have posted it before the othe individual if I skipped the drawn out Alt-News process and just posted "OMGZ VA shooter, againz!"

But then again, what does it really matter?

ENOUGH

Please discuss the topic; not whether the topic should be here or there. It is perfectly okay for it to be in two forums. Any further off-topic posts will be removed and possible subjected to further action.

Thank you.

Just another nut with too much pent up emotions, and lack of meds. It looks as though we might have a copy cat on our hands? I can only see this type of thing happening more frequently as the world continues to unravel at the seams?

By no means should anyone curl up into a ball and go into the fetal position. Maniacs have been around since man crawled out of the primordial goo. First it was throwing rocks at someone's head for no reason, and now it is firearms. Some get the help they need, and others fall through the cracks. These things happen, and there is really nothing anyone can do about it short of removing the person from this earth or incarcerating them. It is a simple fact of life. I hope they get this maniac into custody before he/she can carry out their mission of insanity.

The BBC news was just reporting that so far officers of the local police department , and campus security have found nobody with any firearms so far, and that was about ten , fifteen minuites ago.

I hope that either they find who ever was wandering around with a gun, or that they figure out that the kids who called the alert were mistaken, and what was being carried was a hot power drill , or something like that.

I have a feeling it is false alarm if nobody has been shot yet. Interesting that the stock market is tumbling at the same time. Has anyone studied the relationship of extreme human behavior and CME's? Just curious really.
