Is it possible to reveal how many ATS users actually voted in this poll and maybe even their duration on the site? It'd be interesting to see if users who have been on ATS for at least a year voted differently than those who signed up just recently.

Neo, I normally agree with you on most issues, but I have to differ here. I'm right wing - just to the right of Atilla the Hun, and even I can see that the conservative media is playing this, every bit as much as the liberal media. the whole damned bunch of 'em is corrupt (media, politicians, and ALL), and ain't NONE of 'em looking out for US - i.e. America.

That question is fundamentally flawed from a logistics point of view....

Check it.... 60% of the people can't think Obama is the most corrupt if 60% of the people think the Republicans are the most corrupt and 60% of the people think liberals are the most corrupt... etc etc....

The same people voted for Strongly agree on nearly all accounts.... which means the question is fundamentally flawed.

It forms a bias, because it's not a multiple choice question and as such stimulates those to vote strongly agree based on the power of suggestion rather than freewill.

Broken poll is broken... The question should of read "Do you think X is a corrupt faction of the government" over "Which of these is the MOST corrupt? X"

The results might have been the same, but there is no way to know for sure since the question was fundamentally flawed. Also, are we really down to 15,000 unique users a month? ATS is dead... no?

(Although... I think we can all agree we don't have the government of the year or anything.... it's just there is a flaw in the poll.)

P.S.

How big is the sample rate? Without those numbers the polls don't mean a god damned thing.

I semi agree. If something is inevitable to crash and burn... and it's being driven by the bad guys, it's better to crash and burn it sooner than later or there is more damage to clean up as a result of the extended reign of the mafioso political regimes.

It's actually quite an intelligent position provided there is no other alternative or plan to remove the "bad guys" from power. Not saying there isn't (another way) -- just saying nobody has been floating any of those ideas out there.

If you are building a sand castle for a sand castle tournament and you are working with a design that might structurally fail before completion or grading, than it's best to collapse it on purpose when there is still enough time to build a new one before the deadline.

I.E.

Time is the most precious resource on earth -- it's non renewable.

Good thing America isn't run by opinion polls, or all of who is in charge would be out of a job, AND so they should.

What a shame the opinion polls don't rule the country, then you would see some REAL change.
I love statistics, and with some 9000 odd contributors, seems very valid to me, when Americas economy effects more countries than it's own.

Oh thank God we've got another survey reassuring all the conservatives on this site that everyone thinks the way they do and that if they don't they're clearly in the wrong. Thank God we've got definitive proof that the Tea Party was right all along and are the most fit to lead this nation.

Even had a nice biased image of Obama to click on to open it. Cheers guys! Obviously everyone (in this microcosm of conservative ignorance) agrees that the republicans have been right about everything!


It's clear to me that very few on this site are actually "Above Political Madness" and that most still subscribe to it and get off on obsessing over it

Well, there is an alternative plan to remove the bad guys, but there are fundamental flaws which have been introduced into the system. That plan would be to vote them out, based on their job performance/voting records. The problems begin with people thinking "well, it wasn't MY congress critter that voted the wrong way, it was all the rest of them!" and run right up through Diebold's lock on the vote count.

Come next election, and after a review of the voting record, I'll be voting against every single incumbent on my ballot. If they voted "wrong", they voted wrong, and if they voted right, they didn't fight hard enough for America in the preliminary skirmishes leading to the vote, so I'll be voting against ALL of them.

You know, the other day a poster made the statement that it's time to "clean out" all of his opposition, and flat out stated "not quarter to be given, no prisoners taken". I'm fine with that if that's the rules they want to play by. Those rules can work both ways. If I already know to expect no quarter, none will be forthcoming from me, and it starts in the voting booth.

How far it goes from there depends on just how hard they're really willing to shove. I'm willing to match 'em rather than get overrun and get "taken out" while sitting on my ass wondering if they'll really push it or not.

You're right, time is a precious commodity, and it's non-renewable. What is going on here is keeping US on borrowed time, and trying to steal MORE time from our children, just to loan it back to them - putting them on the hot seat as well, and forcing them into the borrowed time scenario.

That hot seat is going to get MIGHTY hot when it finally burns. I'd rather take that strain myself, NOW, than leave it for my kids to deal with. They haven't done anything to me to deserve that.

The most telling answer for me is the one 'Financial analysts are indicating the best long term solution is a combination of spending cuts and increased taxes.' This is the only part of the survey where the graph does not spike severely right or left. It gives a scintilla of hope that there could be some middle ground and room for compromise. Without even reading into the data common sense would indicate that this could be a fair, just and fiscally responsible course of action.

Excellent point. Maybe future polls regarding the United States should have question about who is, and isn't, American? If people would be honest, that could tell a LOT more about the results.

I think if 100,000 People showed up on the white house lawn chanting

Ron Paul for President and stop stealing from the American People then

they might listen.. for a short period of time, enough time to get into their

get away cars and disappear.. and in light of how much they're handing

over to isreal..Over 100 Billion US Tax dollars to be exact, it's no wonder

the debt is so horrific.
