Well that still leaves 'by ear' or possibly 'by nose'. Some people can drink fluids through their nose (although how they can tolerate the feeling is beyond me)

Given the dubiousness of the Dulce papers which is more or less the only place ive found the idea they do so through their skin mentioned, such a claim has to be taken as most likely false (although it does happen in nature), and as for the strawberry icecream claim, that first appeared on UFO Coverup and the blurry faced informant (Condor wasnt it?) who mentioned it has been proven to be a fraud along with Falcon and all the other Aviary bunch.

Personally if their biological beings then they must have some way of converting matter into what ever they require for energy (even plants have organs for eating, ie Leaves and Roots). As such their would have to be some external means of doing so that would mean it could be anything really, Roots, Leaves, Rhizomes, Pitcher plant style, Fly style, Spider style, crush it in a cavity etc.

I doubt anyone truly knows how, most reports only have the aliens doing work and going about tasks, doubt any genuine abductions have really taken place during their lunch breaks "Hey Zar im off for a bite, want me to pick anything up for ya from the galactic co-op for after ya finished with this specimen?".

Personally any sort of plant or fungus like means of eating to me is far to primitive and restrictive for a mobile species and as such id say most would have the old store it in a pouch setup like we and most other highly mobile life does. As to getting sustenance from the Sun like plants, people seem to forget that photosynthesis through their leaves is like our breathing, plants dont just breath they also uptake and eat all the other stuff through their root system... how would a life form that just ate through absorbing sunlight get the basic nutrients and minerals for maintaining their bodies physical structure?.. unless the life form was purely synthetic but I dont believe the concept that aliens are just synthetic vessels.

Honestly I guess it would just depend....

How did it evolve, you know? No one will no for sure until we have one standing in front of us.

I'm not going to claim either of these are correct but I have come across these information snippets more than a few times though the years...

We have to realize that this was an amazing time in history. We had the president speaking about some "alien threat" that was a dream of his. We have a civilian scientist who set up equipment in his house and claimed to the president that there is a underground alien base, then the gov set up a large campaign steering people away from the base at towards Kirkland. John Lear brings the papers out from his contacts later and there have been some others. So it makes me think, what if there was an altercation of some sorts in 1979 when humans discovered the base or were they working with aliens from outer space? With the government there still has to be disinformation even at this amazing time, and that's where strawberry ice cream comes in. Or perhaps they were talking about another alien race, called the Orange. The Orange have been associated with cattle mutilations and the Men In Black.

These entities are humanoid and might be mistaken for human beings of the Oriental race if seen from a distance. They are bipedal, 3-5 feet 4 inches in height and weigh 50-100 pounds. Proportionally they are similar to humans, although the cranium is somewhat larger and more rounded. The skin is a pale, chalky-yellow in color, thick, and slightly pebbled in appearance. The eyes are small, wide-set, almond-shaped, with brownish-black irises with very large pupils. The whites of the eyes are not like that of humans, but have a pale gray cast. The ears are small and set low on the skull. The nose is thin and long, and the mouth is wider than in humans, and nearly lipless.

Toward the latter part of this period, in early autumn of 1976, a hunter from Bozeman, Montana, was out alone around 3:00pm one day in the Red Mountain area near Norris. These papers tell what the aliens are after and how the blood (taken from cattle) is used. The aliens seem to absorb atoms to eat. They put their hands in blood, sort of like a sponge, for nourishment. It's not just food they want; the DNA in cattle and humans is being altered. The 'Type One' creature is a lab animal.

We knew that the Greys were instrumental in performing the mutilations of animals (and some humans) and that they were using the glandular substances derived from these materials for food (absorbed through the skin) and to clone more Greys in their underground laboratories. The government was also aware that the Greys performed some of the abductions to secure genetic materials.

They suck algae (mana) of various flavors through a straw. It's full of nutrients they need and can be easily manufactured in a small device while traveling vast distances through space-time.

You will recall that 'mutilations' generally result in all of the blood being withdrawn from the body. This has been the case whether the subject is an 'animal' or a human.
The blood and other fluids are then generally transferred to holding containers, or vats, [along with] other body parts.
There are many many reports of humans in various situations and scenarios having come in contact with aliens, or have been in caves or caverns with aliens, and having seen canisters or vats in which animal [or human] parts were floating, and in which a purple-red fluid was present as a substance in which to suspend all the [organic] materials.
There was one case where a woman and her two children were abducted by the entities from BELLATRIX -- the entities referred to as 'SM's' ("Snake Men"? - Branton) in THE CASE FOR THE UFO, by M. K. Jessup and annotated by Carlos Allende and 'friends' -- and she would not cooperate with them when they had her on board their ship.
Their reply to this lack of cooperation was very direct -- they killed both of her children. She managed to run down a hallway and went into a room where she saw a vat full of red liquid and body parts of humans and animals.
She saw another vat of the same type in which the liquid was being agitated, and as she looked into the vat she could see Greys bobbing up and down, almost swimming, absorbing the nutrients through their skin.
There is also the use of H2O2 [water molecules with an extra oxygen atom added] in the vats in order to aid in preserving the fluid from rapid degeneration.
These entities have been abducting humans for many centuries -- these entities view Earth as a big farm, and have been essentially raising and harvesting humans and apparently abduct humans to take them back to their home planet to raise there in a kind of human husbandry [or livestock] scenario...

Kind of a strange question. It's like asking "How to animals eat?". As you have already pointed out, a mammal and a mosquito eat in different ways. I would imagine among whatever life forms exist off Earth there are several different methods of eating.

Ok, I'll bite! (pun intended):

I think they (or at least some species, e.g. the small-mouthed greys) eat a liquified protein gruel similar to the mana algal-protein mixture described above. My guess, though, is that like you or me, the aliens would quickly tire of this green glop and so they flavor and texturize it a bit with artificial sweeteners and enhancers to make it more palatable. Since their digestive systems, along with their mouth and throat physiology, has evolved to accommodate only the bare essentials, they likely waste little or perhaps even not at all (which is why we never see alien butt-holes, or alien "scat" left behind).

Unfortunately for the little grey buggers, advanced as they may be, they've also lost they're ability to naturally reproduce. Thus they are here to experiment on us, particularly our reproductive tissues and fluids, in an effort to save their species, or, as a last resort, to hybridize with humans so that they may perpetuate their own survival.

Now don;t go jumping all over me - this is just speculation - I admit it - and... huh?! What do you want?!?! Who are you?!/ WHAT are you!?!!? AAAAArrrrgggghhhh...

Who was the civillian scientist who supposedly found the base and is there more information on that subject in general?

The last time they gave me a party I remember them eating with spoons on their left hand and knife on their right.

Well, I'm going to ask the question nobody else will. If aliens eat then how do they "dispose" of what they eat, mmmm? Do they convert it to Helium 3 and fuel their "ships" with it? I'm starting to giggle so I must stop...

I would say the steel straw would have to go through the back of the eye socket. As the bone there is not very thick. A simple whack and it pops right into the brain cavity.

What I want to know is if they drink out brain straight or do they mix it with any flavoring. A bit bland by itself one would imagine.
