We already have a reference point for inteligent life existing in the universe 'ourselves'.
Now take into account the 'hubble ultra deep field experiment' They pointed hubble at
a small patch of empty space for 10 days and saw around 10 thousand galaxies, its
estimated there are about 100 billion galaxies in total. Most of them contain on average
a billion stars each, and countless planetary systems.
Early results from the kepler telescope found 750 new exoplanets just by looking at a
small patch of sky for about 6 weeks, the majority of the new planets found are small
rocky worlds similar in size to the earth, and 150 of them are in the habitable zone of
there parent stars, All this from preliminary results of 6 weeks work 'scientests were
stunned and amazed at the results and implications. I read an article recently that said that there are approximately 10.3 trillion times as many planets in the universe as there are humans on earth
so considering all these things, it seems that life must be everywhere in the cosmos.
www.youtube.com... nice hubble deep field movie.

2 uequal things have no comparison --- "higher beings" are one thing but billions of stars, universes and "just us"? Who is so egotistical to think "we are the only beings among all the stars? Not me --- God is a totally different thought --he could be there or maybe not - but do not compare horse balls to peppermint candies.

I believe in UFO's.

I also believe it's a possiblity that a God or Gods exist.

I DO NOT believe the God mentioned in Christianity exists.

But let me remind you, this is how most Religious people think. They live in a world where everything revolves around the law of their religion and nothing else.

Actually I think it's more that they live around the law that there is a God. No matter how available he makes the notion that he dosn't exist. After all his existence is simply the greatest existence. It makes sense also that
an existence should own existence. That's God.

You could say the same for much of the "scientific community"

I don't BELIEVE in anything. Something either IS or it ISN'T. Either God exist or he doesn't. Either aliens exist or they don't. I haven't seen any evidence of God or aliens so I don't believe in either one. That doesn't mean they don't exist, they very well could. I just haven't seen any evidence of it. I personally haven't seen a UFO or an alien. The universe is a large place and I'm sure there are lots of things that exist that would freak us out.

The only God I've seen was on The Simpsons cartoon

At least with UFO's, there are sightings and some form(s) of evidence.
Whereas "God", the only evidence is by Neandrathal-Cavemen visited or spoken to be "God/Angel", which probably is a ET anyways.

I wish I lived in the Dark Ages. I could've said that God spoke to me and we would have the Church of 5andman with a all-star worshippers like Tom Cruise, Megan Fox, George Lucas, etc.

I fail to comprehend your connection between atheism and the belief in ufos. One thing seems to have nothing to do with the other. Most atheists from what I read, do not believe in ufo's and are mostly under the impression that we are alone in the world, left to fend for ourselves. As for the matter of proof besides the bible and the miracles of Fatima their really isn't much to go on for the belief in god. I myself believe that there is some sort of higher power, but I also believe that the way this entity is depicted in the bible, seems not only a little exaggerated, but far fetched as well. You must remember that when it comes to the proving god exists we must rely on depictions written by so called apostles who may or may not have gotten the right idea of what they were being told. How would you react to someone telling you about the future? or how would you try to comprehend the so called "visions" being shown to you? I mean it just seems like one big misunderstanding. Even in the bible these people were said to be not of very high intelligence, you can only imagine how incorrect there interpretations may be. Plus there are many people believe to be in constant contact with god, yet, we have no information on where he actually came from and what type of magic ( I use this word lightly) he used to conjure up the world so quickly. All people suggest is that he did it and that's that. On other note the church seems to change the ideas that are in the bible constantly, which makes me believe that some how they are manipulating it for their own convenience, which simply put, leaves me very skeptical on the whole aspect of religion. Why is it that there are so many religions in the world with so many similar stories(by similar i mean the same concept and message)?, If there is such a thing as god why do people feel the need to make new religions and not stick to one person or being for that matter? I don't get it.

On the other hand there are millions and millions of people who have said that they have seen beings from another dimension or solar system, and have also seen flying objects that have flown in patterns that they have never seen before. Countless scenarios such as, the south Africa incident, the Roswell incident, victors video to rocket studios(believe this one if you want, it still in question to this I believe, but just on a not the alien in the video does not seem very puppet or cgi like, but that is neither here nor there and thus I will not go in to it in great detail). Other evidence includes, sculptures of strange men, strange writings on the wall, the pyramids,as well as the book of Ezekiel in the bible itself. So I guess you might say that all this evidence can be logically explained and can be debunked or just plain fake, so we really can't no for sure if we are being visited or if there are et's, but isn't that basically the same situation that the people that believe in god are in, nobody has been able to disclose each topic to the public, thus far, all of it is mere speculation.

In my honest opinion I have a great belief in a higher power, as well as a even stronger belief in beings from other planets, ufo's,mib etc..., but that does not mean that everyone must believe what I believe, which should answer your question on why do SOME atheist believe in ufo';s and not in god, some people see these topics as one and the same, others do not. Not ALL atheist do believe in ufo's so do no generalize that idea, because its wrong. Hey god himself may have been a creature from the stars, who knows. Anyways I liked discussing this subject so thanks for the thread as it my first post.

Ps: I hope my writing was not to messy or hard to understand, if anybody has any tips on making my posts more readable or if I didn't stay on topic please let me know so I can improve. I love this site being viewing it for a long time now just never made an account, but I hope to become a long time poster :0

Go ahead and include the original 007. John Dee.

He waltzed around with the royals claiming to speak with angels.

Oh and you mention the simpsons, well the voice of Bart Simpson donates millions of dollars to scientology every year.

Did you make that connection also?

I think theres a substantial difference between UFOs, Aliens and God(s),

Personally I think theres and overwhelming chance for Aliens, lifeforms and intelligences not of Earth. I have no idea where they are, no one has other then 'out there'. Perhaps we're just not interesting enough to make contact with. Might be a lot of 'advanced' civilizations out there like us with comparable technology and limitations and a few ultra advanced races for which the laws of physics don't matter. Who knows what is possible with thousands and perhaps hundreds of thousands of years of technological advancement. Then again theres the possibility we are alone but the sher expanse of the universe and perhaps universes to me outweighs the chance to not have life elsewhere.

UFOs. To me mainly boils down to video taken by amateurs or NASA (+other agencies) but haven't seen any stunning video I can point to and say LOOK it MUST be real they are here type of videos. Seen some strange and weird ones but still. I can't say I believe in UFOs, in a discussion I would mention the possibility but I have nothing else with weight to add to a discussion for UFOs then what other people have videotaped.

God. I have no belief in any deity of the religions of the world. There have been countless deities in the past who are no longer regarded as existing (Thor and Zeus for example) but they were very real back then! I give no credence to the present Gods.

Theres a lot of speculation one can make around this like perhaps the Aliens are the Gods and UFOs are Angels and so on but that's for another thread.

You have to believe in "God" for God to exist.

UFO's and aliens are real just like me and you (well, me at least)

If there were no humans (us), ever, would God exist? No one to believe, something that requires belief and only belief, cannot exist.

Humans exist. (I think? This could be a thread all by itself.
)

The universe is a large place and probability alone stipulates that there are other people(s) out there. Just so happens some have visited and are visiting this planet.

I have never touched, seen, heard, smelled, or tasted any evidence that God exists, only what some other people want me to believe by telling me this and/or reading a bible. They also get very emotional about my response when I tell them to evidentially prove their statements.

this is ridiculous! how can you think that something or someone created everything with a click of their fingers. typical Christian. there is evidence that shows how humans came to live on planet earth via the big bang so there for would be naive to think that there couldn't be other living things on other planets aka extra terrestrials. stupid to say 1 person created everything, who created that 1 person?!

BOOM

Aside from the fact that its entirely likely for Aliens to exist outside of our solar system, I've never said I believe UFOs exist. And I can say there is no God because of the countless religions that have existed throughout Human history, so to say the Gods of those religions do not exist would inevitably mean that Allah/Yahweh/Jehovah etc etc do not exist themselves. Besides the notion that a celestial totalitarian dictator who watches my every move is completely ridiculous.

Have you ever studied the kabbalah or gnosticism, any esoteric study?
Do you know what the seraphim are?
You are stuck up on the personification of a deity, in all things there is the exoteric and the esoteric.

And to those talking about being watched all the time by a God, the teachings imply that God is omni-PRESENT and aware of all things. That is different than watching everyone all the time.

Seems like many of the nay sayers just want to fit in and be "cool" and have not done any sort of due diligence other than some laughable pseudo scientific experiment.

"Yaaaawn" why is it so hard for religious types to comprehend that people can live life without belief in a "god"? Really? Do you really need to continually reassure your own beliefs by questioning others? Get a life!
