So I was rolling back through Stellarium to 8197BC Egypt, and I noticed, that when you look at the stars around that time, (specifically around Orion) you find that it seems to form a crucifix.

So my question is:

Who wants to argue this is where the symbol of the cross became so prolific? And also, interesting to notice, that Orion is visible right before the rising sun (God).

Okay, now, speculate away.

Well thats stretching a bit... the chances of 4 stars forming a "cross" out of the millions of them visiable in the sky over thousands of years is huge I bet if I took an hour I could come up with more!

Hey, we are in skunk works! This is all about speculation.

I'm going with: ancient aliens, circa 10,000 BC, built the pyramids and then left, but told everyone they were from Orion.

By God, I hope you don't mean the Christian/Jewish God. Since I'm not quite sure that Judaism is 8,000 years old.

Also, I'm sure this isn't the only occurrence in ~8,000 years that stars have formed a cross in the night sky.

What about the chances of the Great Pyramids lining up to the 3 stars of the cross?

Ah I see the crazy forum then

I dont know I like to speculate about things but I have a strong sense of logic in my mind and I always rule everything else out before I go to crucifixes in the stars... just the way I am but thanks for explaining the skunk works I always wondered what that was!

Sometimes it's fun to throw away logic and rational thinking and just give in to the crazy. Do it for all the people who forgot to take their medication for extended periods of time.

A tribute...

I see a sideways "T" more than I see a crucifix.

I think it became prolific the time the zodiac chart came around. You got your signs separated by the equinoxes and solstices with the picture of the sun sitting where the four lines meet. It was pretty powerful interpretation of the cosmos at the time.

Well it was night time, so I imagine all the Ancient Egyptians were laying down on their sides at the time.

Its been my undersanding that the "cross" that was associated with jc was the crux constellation. Great movie if you can find it is Zeitgeist the greatest story ever sold but they have taken it off you tube

Actually I took a religion class in my one semester at college and you have a point.

The story goes that peoples way back when worshipped the sun. There is a constellation somewhere up there that is actually called the cross/southern cross or something to that extent. The story of Jesus comes in here:

The sun gets lower and lower in the sky as the winter progresses. Right around the winter solstice (where the sun is the lowest in the sky) it passes right in front of cross constellation. (The "sun/son" dies on the cross). For 3 days the sun stays low in the sky, only to start slowly rising up in the sky. (3 days later the 'sun/son' rose from the dead.)

This is also evidenced by the fact that Christianity isn't the first religion to have its savior die on the cross and then rise from the dead 3 days later.

So yeah, there's my 2 cents of unsubstantiated stuff. But I swear, that's what they taught me in college!

Sorry but Zeitgeist is full of twisted information made to make it more plausible to the viewers. In short Zeitgeist is a joke.

And a ploy to promote "the Venus project".

Don't leave that part out.

I could accept that with proper references. It is much more plausible than aliens or an all powerful being shooting down from the heavens.

Would make a lot of sense actually.

But we are in skunk works, so I have to go with Ancient Aliens and Bagdad batteries for now....

do you have facts to back that up? It was pretty clear to me. Not any myths like everybody has been taught. Do you also believe that a virgiin could give birth as well?

Isn't that what you accuse others of doing before hammering their threads with nonsensical criticisms and insults?

Nah. You wouldn't do that.

Could it be possible that people were asked to stay on topic in 8191BC too?
