I second this and the planes posted by ShadowXIX. That Nazi airplane posted by RealisticPatriot looks very sophisticated for its time. Any idea if it was dispatched in WW2?

Very interesting that while at Burger King I was folding the French Fry case and the model I concocted looks no different than the planes mentioned here with a some modifications.

This is the ME-163 Komet. It was a last ditch defense effort by the Germans. It is rocket powered.

The X-32 looks like it's saying Cheeeeeeeese!
The Tacit Blue from above looks like a flying brick!

The A-10 and U-2 are ugly. They don't even have swept wings.

As for the B-52 that thing should of been retired by now, but I know it will be around for at least another decade. Awhile back when I saw that graph that the Airforce would still be using the B-52's in 2038 I thought WTF for. But that things is no more so I would predict that it will be dead around 2020.

I'm desperatly raking my brain for the name of the German plane. I believe it did deploy, but was cancelled due to the limited 'up-time' due to fast fuel burn, and to add to the mix it was really dangerous to fly and unstable. It features in my all time favourite flight sim 'Chuck Yeager's Air Combat'.

As I was typing I think I remembered it's name: the 'Komet' or 'Comet' (possibly a nickname due to it bursting into flames due to it's unreliability).

Please correct me if I am wrong.

i believe the three-engine US plane is the ford tri-motor; dont quote me on that though.

Its not a trimotor. Those had corragated skin. Its and ugly one though
