It kind of looks like a cartoon plane, the whole thing looks flimsy. I'd be interested to know what it was used for though.

The X-32 as Shadow said, it was one of the uglies I have ever seen. The F-105 Thud was not pretty either.

I fell in love with Thuds back in 65. They are one of the most beautiful planes to ever grace the sky. There was not one bad looker in the century series.

So that plane was the X-32 FredT, what was that eye sore of a plane designed or used for?

Good job with the I.D of that plane FredT I had no clue what that was just looked ugly to me

Just for clarification, the X-32 was the Boeing JSF I posted.

And now looking at that plan that you posted, I think this thread can end, because that has to be the ugliest plane ever made

yeah the x-32 was a pretty bad looking plane, IMO was the reason it lost the JSF program, when taxpayers pay hundreds of billions for a new set of planes, they better look futuristic and sexy like the F-35

thanks,

The F117 is pretty ugly.

I know this isn't a fighter or a bomber but it did say plane in the first sentence of the description.

Nimrod AEW 3 is very ugly. Project was scapped but at a huge cost to the UK.

I still can't decide whethere the other Nimrod versions are ugly though.

Come on it doesn't look that bad. Does it?

Thanks for clearing that up American Mad Man
Your right about the intakes on the X-32 it looks like a big smile, like something the Joker from the Batman comics would fly
just paint it purple and green and he would love that thing.

I second this and the planes posted by ShadowXIX. That Nazi airplane posted by RealisticPatriot looks very sophisticated for its time. Any idea if it was dispatched in WW2?

Very interesting that while at Burger King I was folding the French Fry case and the model I concocted looks no different than the planes mentioned here with a some modifications.

Intake kinda makes it look like a shark. Not a very scary one though.

ShadowXIX's mystery plane is very bad looking indeed.

The German plane looks a bit like a squashed B2 Spirit because of the shape.

But the areal shot looks great.

I don't see it being aerodynamic but visually displeasing and the main thing is that it has the capabilities of getting off the ground.
