Obviously there is too much demand for housing, due to imigration. People should move to places where Housing is cheap, and available, instead of being homeless. I hear Detroit is giving away homes.

People all over the world are protesting poverty. Like protest will do any good. This stems from the newly poor, having a tantrum and looking for an outlet. How spoiled are you that you cry to the world when your pockets are empty, blaming it on the government.

Um... maybe because it's the government's fault? Just a stab in the dark there.

Rest assured, these demonstrations have nothing to do about neither peace or the Palestinians. Stop trying to link between two completely different issues. It's anti-government, anti-Bibi, yes, but not due to the reasons you convince yourselves about.

If anyone is really interested in this demonstrations, and is not in this thread only to yell anti Israeli BS, this is how it goes -

This is about an economical struggle of the mid-class citizens in Israel, and the exceptional high price of apartments. An average monthly rental fee of an average apartment in Tel Aviv for example, is 4000 NIS (roughly 1200$). A really small one costs 3000 a month (about 900$).
There is one possible way around this, which is purchasing an apartment through a mortgage loan.. yet, this requires one to pay a starters price of a certain % of the apartment's worth, which is (if you're talking about an average apartment) 300,000 NIS - 88300$ more or less.
Not only does an average Israeli cannot afford such a high price, even if he could, he is basically enslaved for tens of years to the mortgage system which eventually costs him more or less the same amount of money spent even if he ended up renting an apartment for so long. His children will enjoy a real estate property though.

Another demonstration is held by the vast majority population of intern doctors, who receive pathetic salaries considering their demanding jobs. Currently hundreds of doctors have resigned (26.7) and caused a havoc in the medical sect.

Is the government in trouble? Could very well be. Lots of people have had enough being poorer and poorer while suffering harsher taxes every year while the major corporations and the rich population are enjoying a lightened grip of taxes with each and every year.

Is the population going to do something about it? Probably not more than quiet demonstrations. Israeli public is very obedient and submissive to authority, and I'm ashamed to say it. From what I can see, we lack the fighting spirit of our cousins the Arabs, when it comes to go out against your own government at the risk of losing it all.

Am I for the downfall of this government? Hell yeah!

Should this be of any political use against Israel? In my opinion, no. This has nothing even remotely relevant to peace, war, army, palestinians, neighboring countries etc. Using this solely social demonstration as a tool to bash Israel's policy in Gaza is amusing at best.

While I agree with you on they are the "quote" worthy "freedom party", and realistically they are just part of a play- I disagree that the targets would become more solid from say Hammas.
Say we had a libyan situation in Israel- we have to keep in mind that Israel is VERY, verry small.
I doubt the "terrorists" of Palestine would advance on Israel. I just don't see it happening.

"... demanding not only rent reductions and more housing, but lower prices on basic food items, changes to the education system, and better salaries in the health system."

Nothing at all about the genocide of the Palestinian people by their government?

No.
This is an economic demonstration, if it does not suit your agenda you are more than welcome to ignore it.

So you mean they're pissed off about the same things that the rest of the world is pissed off about? Gee, ya think?

Global banking interests hit Israel as much as any other country. When you lend to a country, you are above it. A man who rules the world doesn't care which neck he steps on.

I wanted to add that your comment made me smile only because the more prominent global bankers are of Jewish descent and the irony is what enticed the innocent smirk. The fact that the original tents were set up on Rothschild blvd added dramatic flair.

Everything is tied to America's economy. If we could manage to stop the borrowing and stop the fiat currency that has gone out of control, we could once again put these vile persons in check.

It won't be too far away Australians also start these demonstrations due to the severity of the housing crisis here too. While valuations go down, rentals are skyrocketing and in short supply.

my friend you do have a feel for the real. we are heading head long into one of the worst mistakes that the true ruling people of earth(that has taken over) is about to complete on mankind. The killing of at least 1.8 billion people on earth.

Yes.
Wouldn't you want a rebellion against greedy bankers and corrupted governments?

What does the ethnic or religion of global bankers have to do with any of this? Are they directly related to the Israeli government? Can they be tied up together with the same definition as 'the state of Israel' or 'government of Israel'?

Lots of muslims beat their wives. If a honest muslim man gets shot by his wife, will you smirk too because of the irony in that?

There is nothing related between the Israeli government making life hard for the average Israeli, and bankers of Jewish origin.

Unfortunately some of my fellow critics of Israel don't know how to draw lines between nationalities, ethnicities, and religions. It's actually a pretty common problem from all camps, to be honest.

True capitalism is necessarily contrary to fascism (your statement was quite ignorant and arrogant) although they each have their own sets of decaying crap. Nevertheless, capitalism plainly offers more chance, in our modern world, for charity (by orderly giving rather than by forced giving which is not charity), and order (by brotherly self-control rather than by strangers controlling strangers). But, again, no particular political ideology is truly "good."

And to fully point at the stench of the ignorance in your statement; What country is truly capitalist that you might be referring to? It's nearly been 100 years since capitalism went the way of the buffalo (150 years if you start counting at the force applied by the USA against the CSA instead of when economics and politics really started being hi-jacked with momentum nationally - the 30's or so). I am still so surprised at how little people observe and/or comprehend of what is right in front of them.

Fascism (from m-w.com) - a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

Sounds more like communism, socialism, zionism, corporatism, etc. Truthfully and obviously, while capitalism certainly has it's trappings, it is the only common and modern ideology that isn't fascist. And while the constitution stands, despite being in shreds, I will honor it above others. I, personally, would pick tribal order facilitated by localized and charitable judges, but that seems to be only a dream at this point.

The Law of the Spirit says: Give to others because Life has given richly.
The Laws of Men say: Give to us or we will treat you harshly.

Maybe you should revise your vulgarity to a definite title with a parenthesized listing such as: "fascist pigs (and the derivatives - socialism, communism, corporatism, etc).

Please make a distinction between the falsely pious and the truly pious. I can imagine certain religious people being hateful and I can imagine other religious people being willing to die before causing decay in themselves or others. Blanket statements such as yours are hardly productive and are quite vulgar (by the truest sense of the word). I'd rather you use "4 letter words" and communicate something definite than use terms and phrases entirely lacking poignancy.

Correct me if I am wrong but is the protest through out the Middle East related to the different Dictators governing and suppressing the people.

I thought Israeli was a democratic country and for the longest time this is one of the main reasons the US has had close ties to her.

Well if this a protest about economics and not suppression, welcome to the typical experiance of an American. And Since when is economics not part of a way to supress people? I sorta think these protestors just gave Obama and the UN another headache. How are they going to go in and demand (bomb the hell out of) a regime change?

I just wish the whole World could get on without having to have these protests ( and then sometimes consequences) happen.
But being realistic.....that aint' NEVER gonna happen so if it has to be, do it to some revolution type music huh?
Send love and light to every corner of the globe. Cant hurt and it will make YOU feel good too.
