We have DNA that has four strands, and we also have two sets of reproductive organs. Both must be used at the same time to ovulate an egg. That way, pleasurable reproductive activities does not have to produce offspring.

It took less than three nanoseconds, but with time dilation it would be 4 Earth years. The time dilation only effects the ship when entering and exiting hyperspace.
